Storyline :-
Lakha(Mubarak) is a chief of a Banjara tribe. He has a Daughter Champa, and an adopted youth Madho(Bharat Bhushan). Once,camping near village Belapur, Madho and Champa find a cute Flute player Raju. Soon there is love in Raju and Madhu. He tells Raju(Suchitra Sen) that Champa is like a sister to him, whereas Champa also loves him. Veera (Pran) loves Raju. Thus Champa and Veera are against this love couple. Champa tell Raju to keep away from Madho as she is to marry him. Raju stays away from Madho. Lakha wants to dig a well for drinking water. While the work is going on, Veera informs Lakha about Madho and Raju. Once Madhu is bitten by a snake and only the flute of Raju can bring back the same snake to suck back the poison. Champa begs Raju and Raju saves Madho. Veera,to take revenge, ignites the Dynamite brought for digging the well, but falls in it and dies. Madhu and Raju who are in the well are saved by Champa who also dies in the attempt, thus paving the way for the marriage of Madhu and Raju...

I was a student. When I heard this song on Radio I fell in love with the song. Whenever I use to have considerable savings I use to go and buy a record. One day I found this record on EP record costing 20 Rs. I had only 15. No credit. I went back home asked my father went back to purchase. But by then the record was sold out. I could never get a hand on the record throughout my life. Today I am 65 years. I always feel that this song missing in my collection. Of course it is available in digital form but the feeling of record is different. Such a lovely composition and such a lovely voice of Lataji. We find all of them missing like Rafi Saheb, Mukesh , Kishore Kumar, Talat, Geeta Dutt, Shamshad Begum, Lataji, and galaxy of music composers all left this planet leaving their contributions as memory for us. For me music is dead after they left along with that generation of people. May their souls rest in peace. 🙏🙏

कितने कम वाद्ययंत्रों के साथ रचा गया यह गीत संगीतकार की प्रतिभा का परिचय देता है। यदि आज के गीतों को सुनें तो , गायक / गायिका के स्वर से अधिक शोर ही सुनाई पड़ता है। फिर भी इन गीतों के आगे कहीं नहीं टिकते "वे" ! राजेन्द्र कृष्ण के शब्दों की जितनी सराहना की जाय , कम है। लता जी का तो कोई सानी नहीं है आज भी। और हेमन्त दा केवल संगीत के नहीं बल्कि, स्वर के भी धनी थे।

ये गीत हमेशा सूनता हू. गीत का माहौल इतना सुंदर हैं हर दिल पे उसका परिणाम हो सकता हैं लताजिका आवाज इतना दर्द भरे हैं ये भी कुदरत का करिश्मा हैं .जिंदगी मे कोई भी ये गीत भुल नही सकता.

दर्द अनोखे हाय दे गया प्यार के... एक अनोखा जमाना गीतकारों का. एक से बढकर एक संगीतकारों का. जो संगीत को दिल की गहराई तक पहुंचा देते थे. फिर भी दिल नहीं भरा तो दो दो संगीतकार एक जगह हुए और दिल को ही संगीत में डुबो दिया. 1972 तक तो ये सिलसिला चला फिर सभी ने एक झटके से ब्रेक लगा दिये. फिर ना तो गीतों के बोल रहे ना संगीत का मिठास.

Such a beautiful composition in Raga Jhinjhoti. Touches the heart with the beautiful melody and the lovely voice of the nightingale. No fancy instruments, massive orchestra, synths…nothing. Just pure magic. Unless and until we revert to our classical roots and find great lyricists like the great Rajender Kishanji to write such poetry, I’m afraid we’ve lost our way.

Unlike Hindu kings, the Mohammedan rulers were concerned only with pomp and luxury and harems, and making tombs. These were the worst centuries of her entire history.
