Chiari decompression surgery // how it's done 

3 days out from surgery at University of New Mexico Hospital for Chiari 1 Decompression. This video helped explain how this surgery is done for me, thank you.

My daughter had this done 20 years ago when she was 16. No complications. However, when she was in labor many years later, she was informed by the anesthesiologist who came to do her epidural that he wouldn’t do it because the pressure of pushing might be dangerous. So she was whisked away and had general anesthesia for a c-section. Interesting that her obgyn had her medical history but didn’t know about the potential problem of pushing during labor. The doctors learned something new that day, as we all did.
