Bagent was solid and safe, for a undrafted rookie free agent in his first start, its super impressive. He can really develop into something special and i hope the Bears keep him for a long time. The whole team stepped up this week, especially that O-line. Man, its nice to see our rookies stepping up too, Stevenson played against Adams, and for the most part did awesome and Wright was a freak all day against Crosby. Man. What a 180 (besides penalties) from last week. AND MAN that "JACKHAMMER" SANBORN HIT. WOOO.
When you look at Bagent's stats, it screams blah, certainly nothing special numbers-wise. But when you consider that Getsy had the kid on a super tight leash the entire game, I'd go as far as to say he played spectacular accordingly.
The kid is a winner. He made adjustments at the line and read the defense well. He audible the significant amount of plays in the run game that not enough people will understand or give credit for. He made adjustments from running inside to running outside from reading the defense on a lot of different calls. He was very crisp in the passing game, but the above is something that a lot of people won’t understand or give him credit for. Very very in-depth understanding of the game for rookie. Honestly felt like kurk cousins out there. That might sound funny but from what the Vikings pay for them, I’ll take it.
Tyson Bagent.. a new hope They need to keep giving foreman the ball. It’s almost like the coaches actually created a good game plan for a rookie QB and actually executed. Something we’re all not used to seeing. I’m so used to feeling sick and angry every Sunday, this is weird.
@@1godgodgodgodgodevery little bit helps. :) we ain’t get many wins so we might as be allowed to enjoy the hell out of the ones we do get… otherwise we’d be as miserable as you.
If you break down the film every week, you would say that the game plan is not as bad as people think. Time and time again, open people are not seen, sacks are taking that don’t need to be, and worse. Justin is not the guy.
Bagent was playing like a 10 year vet 💯 was quick reading his options, made smart decisions and remained calm in the pocket. Our rookies Tyler Scott and Tyrique Stevenson played good today as well.
I saw a whole HOST of great plays by Bagent...he should have had 2 TD passes on a brilliant, well-timed, accurate corner route--though contested, DJ normally wins those ! But one play no one has mentioned yet--is the QB sneak he ran, where he Quickly shifted to the right gap & got it easily. Smart QB !
What i liked about yesterday's game was the Bears had 0 3 and outs until we tried just running the ball to run out the clock. Great game by Bagent and Foreman.
Im a Justin Fields fan and i do not think the team should move on from him. With that being said , this undrafted free agent QB from D2 Sheppard University looked extremely comfortable in the offense . He made alot of the correct reads and didnt put the offense behind the sticks. These next few weeks are going to be interesting.
He played one game! Has he had games when he has 4 TDs back to back! This is one game! Check downs all day and a running game that didn't expose the fact that he doesn't have a strong enough arm to make the secondary honor his game!
Glad you are a Justin fan. I am a fan of good, winning football. I'll bet Belichek would start Bagent; just as he saw something ultimately in Brady and never let go. People called him a good backup at first ; NOT saying Bagent is Brady. But he played a Completely Mistake FREE game. I stick with the Winner.
@@jeff6899 This is a game you play not to lose but not to win! This looked like Steve Walsh of the 90s throwing check downs and slant's, but when defense learns of your limitations it's open season, it's not going to last long! DJ Moore can't stretch the field with this kid?
@@christophercameron2141 Steve Walsh was way better than JF ever will be. Steve Walsh beat the Vikings in the Wild Card! JF will never make the playoffs. EVER! 😂
@@christophercameron2141 Bagent literally played to win and did what he needed to do playing smart winning football. What the hell are you talking about 'playing not to lose' lol. Bears had the lead all game and were running and small balling down their throats and milking the clock with long drives, why change it up or feel the need to throw it deep or whatever until they show they can stop what youre doing? Especially when youre up 2+ scores. Youre being intellectually dishonest if you think Justin wouldnt have made a dumb mistake eventually letting the Raiders get back into the game. Hes done it almost every time in his career. Bagent plays winning football and has a super quick release which is why the small ball game works so well for him. When the defenses start getting desperate and selling out to stop that, thats when you start going over the top of them.
Bagent has way better decision making and awareness of defenders than Fields. We need to start him for the next few games and if he keeps it up, have him as QB1 for the whole season.
Great win! I’m not diminishing it in any way, but I was stunned how bad Vegas is. Wow. I know Jimmy G was out, but damn are they bad. Eberflus gets a lot of crap and rightfully so, but his defense is playing much better the past 3 weeks. Criticism when warranted, but he deserves praise for the improvement.
I was thinking the same thing. A lot of individual talent on that roster, yet somehow they don't play up to that talent level. It doesn't help their cause having a terrible head coach. McDaniels is a solid assistant/coordinator, but fails as a head coach.
@@dorailcrayton3676 It's evident that the Bears have been plagued by subpar quarterback performances. Even if you've only casually observed the playoffs, you can't help but notice the high-level play exhibited by the remaining teams' quarterbacks. Without a consistent and skilled quarterback, it's nearly impossible to be a legitimate contender and sustain success. Bagent's development as an undrafted rookie, surpassing P.J. Walker for a spot on the roster, and achieving a 2-2 record as a starter is an incredible narrative. I firmly believe that Bagent possesses the talent to thrive in the league for numerous years. Could've went with C J, last year.
It’s nice to have both sides of the field play great football instead of the offense playing great/ defense sucks vice versa. Wish we could’ve pulled off beating the broncos and the Vikings. Would be a different story man. If bagent wins against the chargers you cannot pull him out for fields
He can n’ he will become a playoff contending QB! You don’t set the NCAA TD record by accident. He had the IT factor . I told my dad this the very first preseason game I seen him play n. The best part is he knows how to play the game . Great W.
I believer his collegiate success was at Level 2, not 1. Still he was most impressive and I hope he gets the next start, regardless of the health of Fields. I would love to see the Bears defeat the Packers, for a change.
It's amazing what a good QB who gets first downs and makes the opposing defense defend the pass does for a RUNNING GAME. It's amazing what getting first downs and eating up the clock does for the DEFENSE when they have time to rest. It's amazing what QUALITY OL looks like when the QB gets rid of the ball quickly, rather than hold it for an eternity like Fields does. Bagent should be the starter. Trade Fields now.
I love that Da Bears won but I can't ignore the difference in game plan and play calling for Bagent vs Fields. Getsy is playing favorites in his attention to detail with Bagent vs Fields.
Nah, Fields is just not an NFL QB. He's 7-26. Yes, the Bears have been garbage in the years he has played. Buy you can't deny Bagent has more poise and heart. He was fist pumping, running, pumping up the crowd. A NATURAL winner. Fields has no emotion! Guy is a bust!
LOL. Lemme guess...."RACISM"! You fools are all the same. Get a freakin clue. This is just about Fields sucking terribly and Bangent playing safe and smart. Will it last? Who knows. But it has NOTHING to do with what you're talking about.
If thing gone bad at the start of the game Justin won't be able to get out of his own head. Many time he will sit alone during the game. That's bad for a leader. Let's see of Tyson can keep winning or just play good football.
stop believing in this.. the guy is Kyle Orton.. we've seen this before a few times. "good" qb not doing good, then "gets hurt" and the 2nd string guy comes in and gets them to the play offs. the 1st QB returns in time to LOSE the playoff game, . the bears then FIRE the 2nd string guy, who goes off to not be very good .
Now Getsy calls a good game? Clearly he doesnt like fields for calling out the offense a couple weeks ago. Even if baegent is the guy, you keep fields til you build a solid sqaud for baegent to walk into. Brock purdy is good because he walked into a team inadvertently built for him. This is a process and not an over night success. Bears fans make me sick yo. We have 2 high picks and we should use them wisely on protecting the qb no matter who it is
Just Cry baby, Just Cry, my Radas travel from Vegas to Chicago and Stank it up, Stank it like a Gunsmoke Dodge City mule pen, Lifeless, Listless, unprepared, and Lazy mo fo's
The Bears should trade Fields before the trade deadline and try to get a 2nd round pick for him. They are probably going to have 2 of the top 5 picks in next year's draft and will probably choose a QB if Bagent doesn't pan out, giving them an extra pick to help their new QB. I think fields is good and blame this coaching staff more than anything for his failures thus far due to poor development. That being said, he will probably be looking for a new contract extension soon, and I don't think anyone is comfortable paying him Daniel Jones money if they miraculously make the playoffs next year. Time for a fresh start.
Bears fans know the team is still garbage. They’re just not as pompous as Raiders fans (who support a team that is also garbage) by saying such dumb shit as RAIDERS NATION!
You just can’t help yourself, you are a JF fanboy and will continue to try and alter the narrative to make everything about the win today to be about ANYTHING other than the QB play. The actual biggest STATs are 0 turnovers and 0 sacks given up by the offense. Has there ever been a game in JF entire career (spanning 33 games) where there were ZERO sacks and ZERO turnovers? Bagent in ONE career start played smarter than a THIRD year player… 😅😂
@steve_polychronopolous You nailed it with your game stats...Tyson Bagent has very high Football IQ, Hes going to try and beat you with basic fundamentals and reading defense's and spreading the ball around...I believe Bagent is a natural leader, Hes not afraid of the big stages. He grew up watching his Father become a 7 Time World Arm Wrestling Champion ....The family DNA probably likes playing or competing under pressure....👍👍
Awesome to see the Bears get a W. Good game from Bagent. Nothing eye popping, but the kind of clean, safe game you might expect from a seasoned journeyman game manager QB. Some of that is also definitely on the Raiders D for not doing the things you need to do against inexperienced QBs like taking away the short, underneath stuff and forcing him to prove he can make accurate deep throws into coverage. Which doesn't take anything away from Bagent. He played the game in front of him and acquitted himself well when he did face pressure. Bear down!
again, too early to say but the major difference between Bagent and Fields is that Bagent knows how to read through his progressions fast. Fields obviously is better overall talent wise, but Bagent so far knows how to move through his progressions
Check downs isn't a franchise QB, you and Everyone who gave up on Fields are going to find out really quick once the Bears running game gets shutdown and he can't stretch the field it's open season.
@@christophercameron2141 Fields has won 1 game in the last 16 games I think we need to look at what else we have. . I hope we can do better then last years 3-14 season with Fields as are qb
Your acting like the run game and the defense didn't carry this game not discrediting bagent bc he did good but calm down he did solid but D'onta Foreman most definitely carried the team yesterday
Hate wishing misfortune on any team, but I’m hoping Carolina brings us the #1 pick which should give us 6 extra picks with the hype the media has been putting on Williams. Dude wants a piece of ownership of the team that drafts him. The Bears are not sellers, and dude already gave a short list of teams he would play for. Honestly, I kinda hope he goes lower half of the 1st round just to teach him a little humility, and the bears use that 1st round pick for a different position. Ol, dl, lb, whatever.. just make it a darn good player rather than a narcissistic head case.
Raider fans screaming for McDaniels to be fired need to watch this entire game. He wasn't the guy on the field throwing bad passes, not blocking, missing open receivers, not tackling on defense, dropping passes in the endzone after whining about not getting the ball enough. This was a total team loss, and ugly play all around. Credit to the Bear run game, run defense, and Bagent for stepping up.
If you think you can win with check downs! And running the ball 80 percent of the time, because he cannot throw the deep pass! They put in another QB before half because he cannot throw over 35 years! I like the kid and I support him! I am not a hater! But Fields is by far the better QB! If they ran the ball as much for Fields as they did for this Rookie to cover up his inability to stretch the field! Fields would have at least 2 touchdowns to Moore, and at least 1 rushing TD easy!
@@christophercameron2141they keep forgetting Bagent is Getsy’s QB who actually trained at his QB camps….if they want Fields to ball out the y need to plan to his skill set and let him do wat he did at OU
@@christophercameron2141 I'm no hater either, but if Fields is supposed to be the better QB, why wasn't he executing like this in the past month? Watch some of Fields on film, buddy. He holds the ball for too damn long, resulting in too many sacks, and apparently he can't read defenses. Take a look at his film vs the Buccaneers. I think there were 2 plays where receivers were wide open, and Fields failed to execute on those plays. Bagent on today looked like he knew what he was doing and knows how to scramble out of trouble. I need to see a few more games to know if Bagent is an instant starter, but Bagent had a better performance today than Fields in the past month alone. No hate here, just stating facts, okay?
@@brendenblechle1681 Because the offensive coordinator wanted him to throw more! And call run plays less in the results of that offensive line collapse in pass protection. In this game the offensive coordinator protects this rookie limitations by running the ball and less deep passing, that's the difference! With Fields and the running game the Bears last year was number 1 in rushing! Fields is the better QB. With a better Offensive coordinator that will play to his strengths is needed as well as a coordinator as well for the offensive line.
@@brendenblechle1681 Bagent is a good kid, and a hard worker and I respect him! But Justin Fields is the better player, I am glad he played well for his first start! But I can't wait for Fields to get back! And I can't wait to get a better offensive coordinator for Fields this guy calls screens like they just came out!
Bagent played extremely well for his first career start; he committed no turnovers and better yet was not sacked ONCE. Fields (who averages a fumble a game) is rumored to have been sacked 3 times while on the sideline! 😂
I don't get why Tyrique Stevenson had to do a PI on 3rd and 25 and how Homer can't catch a shovel pitch pass. Are those both Cane Thangs? What's their wonderlick scores?
I believe it has been the coaches intent to sabotage Justin Fields from the moment they got him 😡 Fox commentators even "appeared" to be cheering for the Bears since there was a DIFFERENT quarterback.. Everything said was pure sarcasm
@@mikegassensmith3434 Nope, the coaches have tried to make him fit their program and he just doesn't. They knew he was a mobile quarterback but consistently try to make him a pocket quarterback. He worked out just fine at Ohio State because he was not only allowed to run but also to audible more often then on the Bears thus gaining confidence in himself while showing such to his teammates and coaches. This is how trust is built, not just emotional opinions
They do, he just doesn’t execute. ICYMI, they were mostly running plays today and “take the check down plays”. Fields just wants to deep bomb it and ends up taking sacks.
The whole team Superstars look extreme on Route cuts, OMG blocking, RB said let him get his style on With he's team...all the coaches on point #51 #34 strength today
In my opinion Getsy is sabotaging Justin Fields. Justin Fields has tried to speak out about Getsy on several occasions but has been silenced. The problem is not Justin Fields. Former Bears WR Fountain is implying something similar. Justin Fields is being sabotaged by Getsy in my opinion.
Daurice Fountain - the rookie practice squad player? Yeah, I trust his opinion too. Your theory implies Getsy is hoping to get fired if he was intentionally sabotaging Fields
@@OD_green7 Yeah that Daurice Fountain. Just because he didn't make the roster doesn't mean he does not understand what Getsy is doing to sabotage Justin Fields. In my opinion Getsy is sabotaging Justin Fields and Getsy needs to go.
@@rickDArula In my opinion Getsy is trying to take all of the credit for finding Bagent. When in fact Getsy did not coach Bagent in college; Getsy only coached Bagent officially in the senior bowl. I am not sure if Bagent attended a camp hosted by Getsy. Mercedes-l Lewis was used a lot in this game against the raiders to help max protect Bagent. Why has the same thing not been done for Justin Fields. The Bears ran the ball like crazy today which is a young quarterbacks best friend. Why don't Getsy do the same for Justin Fields. I have watched the last three games Justin Fields has played including the game he injured his thumb. Getsy abandoned the running game in all 3 of those games and starting running the same screen play over and over on back to back plays. It is obvious Justin Fields is being bu!!-she-itted and setup by Getsy.
