Huge props to Cole Kmet for selflessly blocking the whole game and getting zero fantasy points. He wanted the win and sacrificed his own day.

Look Cole did a gr4eat job, but it was a coaching decision to keep him in their blocking. Why don't they do that for Fields. For example, first play of the game against the vikings, 6 rushers, 5 blockers, if Kmet was there, Justin doesn't get sacked on the blind side.

Ive been friends with his dad for 20 years, the guy is an armwrestling legend and one of the most charasmatic people you will ever meet. I'm super happy to see Tyson doing so well, the kid works hard and he deserves a shot as the starter. BTW for those who don't know, Tyson didn't go to a division II college because he wasn't talented, he went there because his family is from west virginia and he wanted to give back to his community.

Breaking this down, you can see why they didn't try and throw deep. 1) not enough time Crosby would have killed any qb. 2) the Raiders obviously were trying to make him take the dump offs and make him go methodically down the field and not make a mistake. I care about how good the QB is. Most important position on the field. What I don't care about is how fast a QB can run or how far he can throw the ball. Decision making and accuracy are the most important traits. Decision making = pre snap reads, processing a play, anticipation to throw a receiver open and not wait for the receiver to be open.

I could not believe that was dropped. It was good defense, but DJ usually makes those catches all day. Well I have to say that Tyson played well and made few mistakes. Yet it isn’t crazy to think that the coach would keep this guy on a conservative play call system as he’s “unproven”. Yet if he’s a serviceable QB that allows the run game to dominate and still threaten the pass. That would be a lot more than the Bears have had in a while.
@bobbart6498
@bobbart6498 6 месяцев назад
@@Superman-ey3idyeah, he played a clean, straight forward game. He didn’t make any big mistakes, but also didn’t put up the kind of numbers Fields did in the Broncos and Commanders game. I really like how poised and composed he was and how he trusted receivers. I think Fields could really learn from that. That said, I don’t think we should get ahead of ourselves on the Bagent hype. He isn’t great in deep passes (if that duck against the Vikings is any indication, his range is maybe 40 yards) vs Fields who has a cannon and is somehow more accurate and decisive on 40+ yard throws than anything else, and he also hasn’t proven that he can put the ball in tight spaces and throw in heavy traffic, which Fields is on and off at, but when he’s in a rhythm he can be pretty good. Not to mention Fields legs. Overall. We shouldn’t ahead of ourselves, let’s see how he does in the chargers game, and if Fields can keep his hot streak from before his injury going before we stuff Bagents cock into our mouths.

@@bobbart6498 If arm strength is such a huge factor, why has JF only thrown for 300 yards once in 33-34 NFL starts? Why is his record as a starter like 6-26? Why does he average only 160 passing yards a game over his career thus far?
@bobbart6498
@bobbart6498 6 месяцев назад
@@steve_polychronopolous arm strength is not a necessarily an issue; Drew Brees didn’t have a super big arm and he did fine. The difference is that Drew Brees was deadly accurate and could hit receivers in stride in the mid range, which Bagent hasn’t been in the few mid range throws he did have. Sure, he hit Moore on that play in the Vikings game, but it was high and not far enough ahead of him, he had to stop and jump up to grab it instead of running through it, which meant he got rocked by the safety. There was a similar play against the raiders but the receiver was like 12 yards away. Oh and Brees could at least throw 50-55yds and knew his range, where as has a delusional belief that he has a cannon but under threw DJ Moore by like 10 yards on what should’ve been an easy 40 yard touchdown pass. If he can’t extend the field, good defenses will catch on and prepare for short routes and runs. Fields is at least a consistent deep threat and a dangerous runner, which makes defenses take a backer off coverage to play spy and also prepare for short, middle and deep passes. Last: Fields may have only passed for 300 once, but he’s gotten close several times, and he’s had over 300 combined yards several times in his career. 300 yards is 300 yards even if some of them are rushing. Aside from that, Fields was a rookie that first year and was playing time with Dalton (though he still got 285+ yards twice that season), he had no o-line or number 1 receiver last year, and this year despite a rough start he had was finally having back to back good passing performances. He was on pace to get 3800 yards and 36 touchdowns before he got injured which would’ve been the most ever by a bears QB. Bagent hasn’t even had a two hundred yard game yet whether or not you combine rush and pass. All he did was play well enough in a pretty conservative game plan to support the run game and give the defense a break. Maybe the real lesson here is that quick and easy 5 yard passes and jet sweeps should be implemented more into the bears game plan for Fields, rather than always running 15+ yard routes and expecting him to throw dimes every time even when the D has figured out that those kinds of plays are all they call.

Good job to the team and Bagent. But make no mistake, Bagent was NOT running IPOs, none of his plays were downfield and it was evident that Getsy drew up the perfect gameplan for Tyson to succeed. That's what an OC should do. The gameplan for Fields is full of QB runs, bubble screens and tunnel screens. Different gameplan with a rearranged o-line. Also, look back at past games, they had Kmet as a primary read A LOT. Kmet caught one pass this week. Congrats to the Bears and Tyson, but let's wait and see what happens next.

Watching the all-22 I was blown away by some of his throws. The arm angle, the accuracy, the anticipation and zip behind it. Kid has got lots of potential, now we will see if it’s sustainable. One thing I can say with absolute certainty is if Justin was playing, the Raiders would not have finished the game with one single sack. Probably finish with 5-6 and a couple for Crosby. He was all over the pocket, but Bagent never let him get close enough to make it a play. It was refreshing to see an offense that was just on schedule, everyone loves the big plays downfield, but those are not enough to win games consistently. I also thought the team really rallied a lot around Bagent and feed off his energy. JF plays like he’s half asleep and doesn’t wanna be out there at times, and you can’t tell me that doesn’t affect the other guys on the offense.

It's not about energy, it's about Fields constantly makes mistakes and drags the rest of the team down. All us sudden the Bears OL is blocking premier pass rushers with practically no problem? No, it's called Bagent getting the ball out in decent time. It makes all the difference in the world. He makes the right reads and gets the ball out quickly. Tyson is proficient at running this simple offense, however, he hasn’t thrown down the field for more than 20+ yards so we don’t know exactly how good he is at deep passes… If Justin Fields was playing could they have possibly scored 35 or 40 more points? We don’t know that yet… But to just assume Tyson is The new quarterback will have to wait and see… It’s a good problem to have… And I’m pretty sure the bears know that when Justin gets his shit together, and this might be the best thing for him, just sit and watch so he can understand what he is missing from his game… As in getting rid of the ball quickly, accurately, and on time… Maybe this is exactly what he needs to wake him up Because otherwise he’ll end up being the back up… Not to say that he can’t develop into a great quarterback because he’s obviously shown so much potential… But as from now… Tyson is exactly what the Bears are looking for, they just don’t have that quarterback who can bring them from 14 points down in the fourth quarter… Not yet at least… This is quite a dilemma that we were not expecting but it’s not necessarily a bad one

I have a question for Chase. Would love to hear back from an NFL quarterback. You could pull up articles right now written at Ohio state asking why he was taking so many unnecessary sacks with elite offensive talent around him. The reason is because he threw his first read over60% of the time, and when the first read was covered, he was absolutely lost. So tell me how he has improved in the pros? Because it looks like he has not improved at all in that regard. Does it matter if you have all pro receivers if you cannot get the ball out before they are making their break? Break down the last play against Washington last year were they are blaming mooney for dropping the ball. He did not throw the ball until he was coming out of his break which is way too late. These are remedial things he should have had polished up years ago. The definition of an NFL bust is somebody with high talent that doesn’t live up to it. So these people need to stop getting blinded by the shiny penny and remember unathletic, but intelligent, decisive and accurate quarterbacks have dominated this game for decades. Not runners with strong arms that can’t process.

The reason Bagent is succeeding, is inept coaches can rely on his skillset to help them out. They've done it a bit with Fields too, he had a really hot streak last season too. This line is generally awful, with 3 good, consistent games, and you have 2 wins and a good offensive game. Given decent line play, Fields put up 8 tds in 2 games, and Bagent had a great game too.
