I couldn't possibly ever express how much this World Series championship meant to me and my family. I break down and cry at any video that contains any related footage. I love my Cubbies from birth til death. Fly that fuckin W, boys!
Man, honestly I know these are just highlights, but you can just sense the Cubs were laser focused and doing everything right, particularly the Cubs defense. I hope they can get there again this season.
Montero i remember going absolutely nuts! But the double play by Puig was all a blur. I blacked out lol. And the ground out to end Game 7 of the World Series, thought that ball was NEVER going to get to KB....time just STOPPED.
That was when my Father, a life long Cubs fan and the man who raised my brother and I to fall in love with the game, and of course, the Cubbies, started to actually believe. We watched all of 2014 together. Bad. Then 2015... simply amazing! Such a fun, energetic team! And then, something weird continued to happen during the 2016 season. My Father, who had seen some really, really bad baseball on the North Side, as well as some of the most heat breaking moments in the history of sports, well, he just couldn't get into all of the hype. Don't get me wrong, we had a great time watching every single one of the games on TV... but.... he would constantly reference 1969, 1984, or 2003. It wasn't until Montero blasted that Grand Slam that he really began to believe that THIS Cubs Team was different. Even the comeback against the Giants didn't have him completely convinced. After Motero's Slam, he didn't even get discouraged when they were down 3-1 against Cleveland. I am so thankful the Cubs were able to finally win it all before his passing in 2019. He finally got to see the team he loved Fly The Biggest W of them all.
I GOT GOOSEBUMPS WATCHING HIGHLIGHTS!!! U would think I didn't see this when I originally happened!!! I will never ever get enough of seeing this After all my dad and grandfather didn't get a chance to see this so I continue to watch 4 all of us. They made me the Cubs fan I am now! I passed it onto my son and my grandson! And it keeps right on going!!! CUBS FANS 4 LIFE & GENERATIONS!!!
Theres so many ppl who say Heyward is worthless. He has been "WITH" this team since the day he joined. He has heart and dedication. He has improved at batting and is a damn good outfielder. They are all awesome. Way to go guys!
long time comming congratulations to all those cubbies who whent through a hell of a drought im not a cubbies fan but my heart goes out to those fans what a great day now go out and WIN IT ALL!!!!!
Best post on RU-vid. MLB should be this smart when putting together DVDs. It wasn't about just the Series. It was everything. From Dexter showing up in Az to Kris slipping on the wet infield. Great job. My favorite non-final out moment = Miggy game one hero!
I know what you mean. I have the 8 Disc Blu-Ray set of the Cubs World Series. It goes cover Games 1 through 7, but the 8th bonus disc is Game 6 of the NLDS when they won the Pennant. So it does show they EASILY could, but won't. I did download from MLB's channel the games so I at least have the video of those games, but It would be nice to have it on Blu-Ray, so we could listen to the Cubs Radio announcer.
It didn't strike me until the next day that game 6 was a "perfect" game. 27 up, 27 down. No men left on base regardless of hits or walks or errors. Weird but...there ya go....
Great video. Thanks! My son told me I would have to get a tattoo of the Cubs logo on one of my knees if they won the World Series. I agreed. I lied. Today is 1/23/2023. Looking forward to pitchers and catchers reporting next month already!
Hurtballa11... true. but u gotta admit, by the time Davis saw that pitch, Chapman was gassed. his arm was proly feeling like Jell-O by then. but fuck it, we won it anyways, right. 😁 ✌
If I could pick a game to go back and watch in person that was not the World Series, obviously I'm going with the pennant but for a different reason than probably most. Yes for the historical moment, but really to be apart of the crowd. They were louder than any other game I've ever witnessed. Even the TV microphones couldn't handle it and it sounds almost fake when watched.
What was the Cubs' worst month in 2016? June. They lost THREE OUT OF FOUR! Why? Because Dexter was on the 30 day DL. He comes back and they start WINNING 3 of 4. He set the table for the whole team. I really think he was the team's MVP. BTW, his OBP was about .425 in 2016, which is pretty close to Ty Cobb's LIFETIME OBP
What happened to the Cubs this year!?! The post season almost looked fake. Like they were trying not to hit the ball. I understand a slump but their post season was historically bad. Come on Cubs.
The Cubs are totally different in when it comes to October employers always stand father managers because our October the Cubs 2015 Laos 2016 1 2017 loss this year what else it's a pattern
@@eliasvlogssd9475 What? You mean upload a video to RU-vid without messing up the sound? I've done it many times. In fact, I've never done it incorrectly.
