Four big notables were: Anthony Rizzo's big-time home run clutch hitting, Jake Arietta's home run, Miguel Montero's Grand Slam in the NLCS, Javi Baez in the clutch and Addison Russell's Grand Slam in one of the World Series games in Cleveland.
Baez only 2 Home runs came in game 1 of the nlds and game 7 of the World Series. Dude started and ended the playoffs with a home run (until David Ross had the final HR)
That was the year they slugged themselves into a Heavenly place!! The greatest CUBS team we ever saw. As a big CUB fan, I will cherish this special time forever.
And now here we are,, Cub fans relentlessly ridicule Heyward, claim Baez is overrated, blame Ross exclusively for our current 34-53 record, and in general do nothing but complain and insult the last few players on the roster from our 2016 squad as if they never got us a world series win. Disappointing man
@@TaterChip91 are we playing bad though? Not really, we score within the first 3 innings most the time and then never can score in the late, our pitching is on/off, alot of injuries. Next year will be loads better if the cubs organization can keep the roster we have going. Contreras is a good anchor for the newer guys I don't want to see him go
@@Kurruptedwolf The problem with next year is I believe Happ and Contreras are going to be traded. I’m a cubs fan but unfortunately I think the cubs will be worse next year considering this.
It sucks that this dynasty had to end but they were falling apart. Even though Im a pure yankees fan from the heart birth to death I will still always miss this team
2004 Red Sox were more memorable imo. I would probably put the '16 Cubs up with the '10 Giants and the '05 White Sox because no one really doubted the Cubs were a deadly team aswell as they broke a long drought like the aforementioned Giants in 2010 and the 2005 White Sox who were both favorites to win.
