Real Tool Reviews tested this impact wrench and it actually produces 326 ft lbs when tightening and 321 ft lbs loosening. The HF numbers are fairly conservative. I've had mine a year and have used & abused it on cars, trucks, and my boat trailer and it has never failed to bust loose a lug nut, suspension nut or bolt, etc. Best $35 I've ever spent.

I bought an East Volt 1/2 inch impact gun off Amazon that's around the same size as this gun. Harbor Freight discontinued this gun unfortunately and the new Bauer gun is huge for my needs. The East Volt actually has variable forward and reverse and works really well for the price. You should see about doing a comparison video.

So I just bought one of these tonight. It was on the discontinued shelf at harbor freight fo 26 buks. I haven't even tried it. I would be satisfied if it handles lug nuts. An axle nut? Holy crap. I will sleep better now, thank you. I'm pretty confident it will also help with the oxygen sensor. We will see. Thanks for this content. Cheers.

I'll agree with the comment that this impact wrench can put out over 300 ft lbs of force (don't go by break away force marketing of many models). Using a penetrating oil (Liquid Wrench) on rusted bolts and sometimes a heat gun will make it even easier and cut down the chance of stripping the bolt. If you use the impact wrench to put the bolts back on, use torque limiting extension bars to prevent over torquing the bolts or use HF 1/2" torque wrench ($20, sometimes on sale for $10). Good job on the video, it shows that you good tools without spending a lot.

Mine is about 8 years old, not an everyday tool for me but it does get used for car and large lag screw wood jobs. It's got a lot of torque as evidenced by undoing really torqued service garage nuts on my RV. One thing though, I would put a little bit of duct tap across the brush access hole - mine brushes have popped out in dirt by unscrewing themselves.

I bought it when it was $39.99 with a 20% off coupon 15 years ago. It is now $59.99 now. I used it once to remove tire in order to change brake pads and one time when I need to unscrew water heater anode rod. It works like a champ. Because it is corded, I normally unscrew tire nuts with breaker bar and use my M12 cordless tools to do the rest. It really help when I used it on changing Anode rod on water heater because with breaker bar with extension. That stupid won't move a bit until I used this impact wrench. By the way, please make sure you use impact sockets.

Maybe by using a shorter socket and a short extension cord with at least a 12awg would make it perform better? Or is the gun just pretty weak? I have one and it struggles to remove 80 lb/ft lugnuts in my car with a 16awg 30ft extension, that's why I'm suggesting this.
