I got the HELL out of Chicago and decided to enroll in a local community college. After my 2 years were up, I decided to go further than a 2-year degree; I then received a scholarship from 2 HBCU's in Arkansas(UAPB and Arkansas Baptist College). I accepted the full scholarship to UAPB. I can say now, leaving Chicago for 3-1/2 years was the best thing that could happen to me. I now reside back in Chicago, but with a better job and now going back into the same communities rehabbing the same communities that I once hated! Go to school or take a trade up, young black men!
Congrats for your accomplishments! I wish other black kids would follow your lead and find you an inspiration. I lived in Humboldt Park and tried to get young adults to into jobs or lead them to trade school. I tried so hard only to hear excuses for why not to change. It breaks my heart listening to this interview that black kids are more interested in criminal gang life.

@@sunup2sundown If you don't like it don't watch. No matter what type of questions I ask somebody complains. When I was only asking political question about the Mayor, city, their views on certain other issues, sometimes interviewee's didn't know who the mayor was etc, and people got mad saying I was making a mockery by intentionally talking about things they wouldn't know. There were several questions asked that are not on here including personal, political, current events, favorite food, etc that might be a part 2, but I found out you can never satisfy everyone.
I dig it I just notice that a lot of questions to dez impressionable young mean perpetuate violence an a mentality you asked about do they know who shot them come on man get real but I watch cause I’m a fan
@Max nope - mostly both missing. It takes 2 to tango. You can have a mother that is not emotionally available or stretched so thin that she can’t be an effective parent. And we have to look at who is choosing the fathers. 🤔 Single parent households are a detriment and an impediment. We have to get our s-!# together ......NOW Parenthood should be PLANNED - by BOTH mothers AND fathers. Females just tend to get left holding the bag - which doesn’t make them the better parent🤔😳🧐

That said one of the glories of English is its dynamic equivalencies & flexibility. So much so it’s quite common to hear English loan words used in what is erstwhile a conversation in a different tongue. If I was able to press you a bit, is this something cultivated from home & hearth? Your Mum or Da insistence on a level of formality & proprietary in speech & pen? I get it, truly I do.... but in a format as this, could such rigor be a wee bit over the top?
Here is one huge problem. Growing up in the hood, constantly feeling danger, and surviving, puts tremendous pressure on the psychic. I believe it is a form of PTSD. For a real young person it is very serious, and one cause of the destruction of normal goals in life like studying in school, the desire to go to college, the desire to get married and have kids, etc. Without strong parents, the problem gets worse as the child grows up.
These are just human beings like everyone else. The environment and trauma makes them dangerous. They're not just gonna go hurt Charlie for no reason. Why would they? They're being listened to, and shown plain respect. Something they may not be used to.
The O Gang say what they want to say. I hope someday they can get at least 1 song in the top 100. Those old timers say Raps lyrics should be nice but as an old timer we had plenty of songs as far back as the 1960's where songs meant violence, alcohol, drugs, sex in whatever way, and many more. 6:27 Charlie I love your videos! I know they would take your advice a little heavier than coming from me. You should mention gun safety. I know sh*t is real where they're from. But, pointing a gun in your face to show off is dangerous AF. I suppose we lean that shit as we get older. 1. Never put your finger on the trigger unless you PLAN to pull it. 2. @@j3ffro738 I don't know, I mean south side got Englewood, Auburn gresham, Roseland, South Shore and West Pullman, but Westside got Austin, West Garfield park, and North Lawndale, just those 3 neighborhoods on the west side alone have so many shootings and homicides and show up on the news more often than most southside neighborhoods. Englewood is definitely the worst neighborhood on the south side, but Austin and West Garfield Park are worse than Englewood.
