That’s what I’ve noticed with a lot of ppl from the hood, they never leave those few blocks. Even here in LA. If they’re from Inglewood or south central they don’t venture too far from those areas at all, so when they go to a place like Burbank , they’re like wow, this is so peaceful, it’s the same in Chicago, most of the crime is contained to just a few blocks, where all the murders occur. Chicagoans are very desensitized to violence because every single time you put on ABC, NBC, CBS, WGN or Fox Chicago news, you hear and see nothing but the aftermath of violent shootings or muggings where groups of men rob, beat up and sometimes kill an innocent victim who is probably just trying to go to work to make an honest living. One of the few good things about living in Chicago is the thick skin that you develop while spending most of your life living in Chicago, we also develop a six sense and look over our shoulder whenever we travel around the city. I do love this city so much, it will always be home to me, I just wish that people acknowledge the many other good things about Chicago, and not keep calling it the worst city to live in because of the violence.
