My granny made this , with tinned chicken in white sauce, and tinned or frozen veg. She served it over buttered toast points, with a side of french beans. It's pretty much the chicken version of SOS, from a bygone time. x
Yours is the deluxe version of what my mama made. I have eaten my weight in it over the years and still love it. Mama put a jar of pimentos in hers instead of the fresh pepper. This will be on this week’s menu for sure.
One of my favourites though I learnt about this dish through a friend at school who's mom was from England this was around 1970's and she made this for a lunch for us on toast and after that I had it on rice and was hooked ever since. Thank you for sharing Rick had quiet forgotten this dish, will be making this tonight.
Hey Roger - yes mate I remember your request - its here and I can tell you I'm Stuffed. The Sherry was a shocker to buy out here 900 and some baht. Best, Rik
Congratulations Chef! It’s really nice to follow your cooking instructions as they are clear and straightforward. What is your name? What’s the origin of such a pleasant accent? Best regards from Santiago, Chile.
Cheers me dears - always adjust to your own taste that's the best thing in cooking - by the way love the 68 comeback icon pic. I've been a fan from a kid. Best, Rik
Thanks Rik! I’m a big Elvis fan. Was lucky enough to go to Memphis last year. Elvis and all the stuff at Graceland was amazing but I wasn’t impressed with the food over there. If it wasn’t burger and fries it was BBQ pulled pork with everything! lol Struggled to get a decent cup of tea too! 😮☕️
You can purchase meal starters (frozen carrots and peas, frozen onions and 3 color bellpeppers) and cook them together to make your Ala King. But I add fresh onions also. You can add frozen mixed vegetables, spinach, and anything you want to custom make it your way.
@@BackyardChef Rice, always. That looks absolutely divine, Rik. I'll be making this during the week, might even get daring and serve it with garlic butter rice 👌
