I feel like I’m gunna make this for my husband out of nowhere and he’s going to be so impressed!! 😂 you’re the best!! Also, kinda weird, but your voice is soothing and kind ❤️
Once we moved from Connecticut to Odessa TX, chicken fried steak became my go to order at anyplace that served it😁 My mom never tried to make it. I did when I was out on my own though and my version is almost like yours. I used Morton's Nature's Seasoning and the leftover flour dredge to make the roux for the gravy. So glad you posted this!
Chicken fried steak is one of my favorite Texas meals. I fix my steak recipe the same way you do. Thanks for posting and reminding me to make it again. Blessings!!
Yum! Another great classic recipe. Thanks so much and I also wanted to tell you that your book and your recommendation for using Tomato Chicken powdered bullion has taken so many of my dishes to a new level! I had never heard of that Knorr product before and I finally found some. I use it all the time, thanks again!! (And my family thanks you, too!)
It is also called Milanesa in Mexico. But here in USA we call it country fried chicken or country fried steak. Like Milanesa de pollo or Milanesa de rez.
I believe chicken fried steak was originally adapted from schnitzel by german immigrants here in Texas. It's really cool how so many cultures have their own version of a thin cut of meat that's been tenderized, breaded, and fried though!
Angelica, I love this recipe. It takes me back to my childhood in East Texas. I'm looking forward to the hasselback potato recipe. Thanks for posting this delightful comfort food dish.
A Correction...Just Drain out the Real Cast Iron Skillet you just cooked the Chicken Fried Steaks in with the crumbling bits...use the seasoned flour that you just used for the chicken fried steaks and create a better gravy...🤔🥴👍
I am a new subscriber to ur channel, I tried making ur tortilla recipe (came out ok but not perfect as urs lol) it was eatable lol I will be trying it again until I get it rite....I am an Indian (Asian Indian) married to a Chicano n I love love love making Mexican foods for us n I learned a lot of my mother in law recipes (I know how to make tamales also) n I wanted to learn more about Mexican recipes without bothering her so I find ur channel very helpful. Indian tortilla (chappathi) is easy to make but the one you showed was hard since I have hard time rolling it out without using much flour lol. But I will not give up sis...by the way I live in Tx too yey.
My mother makes a very similar chicken fried steak. I can't remember if she uses whole milk or buttermilk as it's been years since i've had it. I'll have to see if i can get the recipe from her. If not i'll just try this one :)
This is one of my absolute favorite comfort meals and yours looks so delicious...I'm not even joking when I say my mouth is literally salivating! 😋🤤 Hugs and blessings from Georgia! 🍑🤗💕
Why are you not naming this Beef fried steak? Why does it read Chicken fried steak? 🤔 I was hoping to see a recipe for Chicken fried steak. This recipe does look YUM!
I can remember Moms gravy, and gravy Nana would make. Everyone called it Burnt Flour Gravy, which wasn't really "Burnt", but browned, oh so nice. Along with the chicken or Steak bits, it was the Bomb Diggity!! Just a lil stroll down memory lane. I'm gonna follow your video in a few mins, and see if my CFS's turn out half as purty as yours. Thanks for sharing!!!
Is that a gravy or a white sauce..I must I've cooked today to of your recipes..The blondies and magic cake bars ..They are so delicious..I've only ever had Mexican food as a chilli..But your food looks so good..I will be making more recipes..With many thanks Michelle U.K..A gravy for us Brits is with a oxo cube.Thankyou..
That looks fantastically Awesome!!! I appreciate the step-by-step instruction. I do have a question, just out of curiosity: What if I use pure full-fat butter milk instead of half and half for the gravy? What are your thoughts on this? Looking forward to your reply. Until then keep on cooking and keep 'em coming. Tommy
God damn I love ❤️ ur cooking marry me jk but yeah I enjoy ur videos and I will try this soon. Keep up these videos plz I don’t know how to cook and I like watching all ur videos. Always give a thumbs up 👍.
I love watching your show. You are so kind, simple and humble. I like to see you live a simple but happy life in this province. Your simple recipes look great, especially where you cook and prepare food. Generally speaking, I like watching your program, I like your simplicity! Good luck and more strength for you!!
We cooked this a lot when I lived in TX. Your recipe including the gravy looks really good. ( Ive cooked and eaten this dish many times ) And Thank You for sharing.
A Texas tradition. My son likes double dredge but Hubby likes single. I make half single dredge, half double dredge. My process is much like yours. About the only difference is I use only S & P which I apply directly to the meat before dredging. I lightly S & P the meat again right before it comes out of the skillet. My mom used to add paprika to the flour when she made it.
Every time I want to know how to make something you put out a video and it's always on my recommended before I even have time to search for it. Are you psychic?
I always said if I could have one meal for the rest of my life it’d be chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes with white gravy, and some freshly baked rolls 😋😋😋 I fell in love with it as a kid in school, then as an adult I worked in a retirement center where they would serve it every other week so it definitely made work a little better on those days 😄
