@GangShit OnYaMama hey buddy hope you know that american wagyu is a result of crossbreading japanese wagyu cattle with american breeds. The name American Wagyu refers to the style. Its the american style of the japanese kobe beef. What doesnt exist on the other hand, is american kobe beef.

Ok That is not how you make the gravy for a chicken fired steak. You raved about the one you had in AZ. I am here to tell you that make the gravy with the scraping from the pan where your fried the steak along with some of the grease from the frying as well as some flour and some salt and pepper and milk or cream. Do that and you will have the gravy you raved about when you had your first Chicken fired steak. As for the mea,t cube steak pounded till tender ,but your coating was perfect. As for grease well grandma used Crisco from a can. Here in Dallas I am always searching for THE chicken fried steak and so far the best I have found is a place called "The Front Porch'. One more thing, the final thing for the meal is French Fried that you can dip in the extra bowl of gravy you order or in a pinch mashed potatos

Have you ever made herb paste chicken on your show? Make a paste of dried dill, Italian herbs, sage, parsley, garlic powder and olive oil. Stuff the paste between the skin and breast and the skin and thighs. Cut a stick of cold butter into 1/4 inch pieces and put under the skin with the herb paste. Rub the outside with olive oil and salt and put a whole cut up lemon in the cavity. Tie the legs together. Roast to 162. The first time I made this it was all I could think about for the next 2 days.

FYI...Im from Texas where chicken fried steak is king and you did it backwards, use the leftover grease from frying the steak to make your gravy, add flour, s&p, then milk or cream to make gravy, but you are awesome keep up the good cooking !! I still give you a like

For your gravy, I would've pulled the bacon and made a roux using the chicken fat, then add the bacon in with the broth. But too each their own. Also subscribed.

Tip I learned from Alton Brown about frying breaded meats, you can try if you want: Season the meat, not the flour. Season (sit), flour, egg wash, flour. It’s amazing.

Man i've just subbed day before last, and i've been chewing my way (pun optional) through your content. Love your recipes, love your style, but I have to say you really hit home for me today. So, I'm a single dude, i don't make a ton of $ but i get by, and a lot of my friends give me lip because of how often i have things like steak, and i do it the same way you do. I do exactly what you were so happy about at the start: I get it when its on sale. Its fresh, its cheap, and to me- the better deal i got on it, the better i feel about my meal. It just enhances it, makes me feel like i got away with something clever or something, i don't know haha. Anyway, that really resonated with me, so i wanted to say thank you. Got some avocado oil ordered. Going to try that out for a while in lieu of olive.

Hi Sam! Is your slate board from a specific store from a link or did you just find it locally somewhere?

My favorite part of a chicken fried steak is that it can be breakfast or dinner. Have it with some eggs and hashbrowns and you've got a killer start to your day. Or, mashed potatoes and some broccoli and you've got a damned good dinner.
