Thanks , Simon ! As a Sri Lankan-born Australian who loves his curry - Sri Lankan or Indian - It's good to know you're one of us ! A few years ago in Sydney , we had one of your programs - The Spice Men . One guy , Tony Singh , was born in Scotland and speaks with a heavy Scottish accent ! The other Indian-born guy has the amazing name of Cyrus Todiwala ! I recommend this show to you and my fellow subscribers .
Totally agree, I lived in West Yorkshire for ten years and I'm now back in North Yorks. Can't beat a Wessie curry, I really miss them. I've never come across one that can rival West Yorks curries in North Yorkshire.
3 chapattis fut quid That's mint that is mate ..just new tut channel and I loving it..I from yarm ...so used to go to whitby for holiday when I was a kid ..I 60 .😊
Looks wonderful, great vid, would be nice to hear how it all started , ,with the "currys" in Great Britain, how it was recived when it first came to your country, as an example , here in Sweden, we hardly knew what Garlic was untill the late 60s, I remember going to school, and when my class mate , that came from Yugoslavia, was sitting beside me , he sometimes had a realy bad breath, and I asked him if he ever brushed his teath, nowadays , garlic is used in so many types of food, and we cant live without it. Best regards Anders , Sweden
Simon as an ex Batley lad now living near Scarborough I concur the curry’s in North Yorkshire are not a patch on Batley and surrounding areas I like you miss a decent curry house when we go back it’s usually a shipping order for the freezer so I don’t get withdrawal symptoms 😂😂
That's a very nice looking shop . I haven't seen one like that in Sydney , especially one which incorporates a butcher shop . Friendly staff . If I was living in the area , I'd be a regular customer. Dhal is sure creamy .
Hey Simon You can't beat a decent Ruby Murray What a place ... Wow !! 👌 Barkat catering, I wish it was my local 🙏 It looks ...The business all that quality food for only £11 😮 Fantastic 👍 I wish there was a decent curry house in Whitby, as I do like an Indian... Now & then 😂 A curry house would make a nice change from the usual choice of fish & Chip's or Italian food when Me & Mrs K are in Whitby. Enjoy your Indian takeaway😋 Chin ,Chin my friend 👍
Another great video Simon, you do make me laugh 😅. We absolutely love Whitby and have had lots of fantastic holidays there. We actually live on a narrowboat now, so we haven't been to Whitby for about 3 years now. How do I find out about your cottage in Whitby, and could you let it to us. Many thanks 😊
Looks belting mate, in Manchester we have something similar, rice and three places, a bed of rice and three big spoonfuls of different curries. They are traditional so no vindaloos or jalfrezis, but properly cooked old school in ghee. Get over to Manchester for a treat.
Hi Simon, I love curry especially a good authentic one. Barkat Catering definitely need to open a shop in Whitby!! The Curries you bought looked absolutely 1st Class, enjoy!!! Thank you for sharing, take care,Chin, chin 💜
Great recommendation Simon. Drove there from Northallerton today...£10 for 3 curries... what a bargain (£7.50 each in our takeaway!). Dahl was damn hot!😂 See u in 'Witwee' (as our daughter use to say when she was young) over Easter.
My daughter loves Frozen very familiar haha I’m sure they’ll be having fun. & thank you for this I need to know what’s in a good curry. Need to try it before I review this Curry Snuff by 6 photo!
@@simplywhitby5356 haha I thought so and I figured that much lol I saw the Goth festival was in Whitby again. Very nice. If I ever visit I would love to go to it. The Mrs & I & our children all have a love for… the darker sides to life 😂 I guess you could say.
My other Arf and i were staying at the Royal hotel a couple of years ago and decided to have a curry instead of the hotels slops one evening. We went to the curry house by the bus station. Never never again will we be going there. Both ended up with bad stomachs. Not what you want when you are on holiday. I will say no more.
Wow wish I was down there I’ve been told to eat lots of protein as I’ve lost 20 kg unexpectedly recently and all sorts of tests awaited . That would do me nicely or kill me off quickly .
Off radar a bit so here, but while your over, Sunday 14th is last day of trading for the woodman at Batley carr( you've got to know it) after that another good boozer lost,if ya don't know it, from Batley go on past Padgett's, turn right at f box funeral place(was Cagney's, Lacey's,n flyers in day thab turn left n it's just up to on right sithe)😢
Hi Simon, so more like" Barely Batley " than "Simplely Whitby " That's a blinkin' bargain is that😊 A lovely bright, clean, hygienic looking shop.Carrying a very wide range of goodies. Why not see if Barkat Catering are up for a wee bit of expansion?? Hope Mrs M & the kiddies enjoy London, and they don't get Frozen in real life😮 it's bloody cold outside 😢 Enjoy the feast. Tally ho😊Allan&Family
