Chickweed Removal and Henbit, stellaria media, the perennial Mouse Ear Chickweed, from my flower beds is not very hard to do but must be done regularly to keep the weeds from going to seed and then germinating, causing more weeds. The best way is to pull them up by the roots.

Your background music is louder then the woman's voice. Really hard to hear her!

We bought a house that came with chickweed. It is with flowers that we want, and it seems impossible to get all the roots that are buried in the GA red clay. We donate the chickweed to our local egg lady. The chickens LOVE it.

Dr. Sten Ekberg I have a lady that grew up in Germany after WWII tell me her and her lived off chickweed and other wild greens.

Jo, our lawn is all weeds. It was an open pasture when we built our house. We went into a severe drought right after we finished it and we never had our lawn properly seeded. We keep wanting to kill the weeds but we're afraid we will just have bare dirt lol!

Regretfully the music is too loud I'm sure you did not intend this but I have the type of hearing loss where no matter what I do I am going to struggle with this .. ...so I wanted to watch it but I can't. ... but I wanted to tell you that chick weed you should just simply pull out and sell it to a local farmers market or to a woman's place because it really does work in shrinking fibroids... .... mine was the size of a 6-month fetus and I was supposed to have it surgically removed but did not want to go under the knife . I did this chick weed.. the type of chickweed I think I've been using a stellaria Madea and it first so nothing for about 3 months and then finally my stomach went completely down overnight. .. it is also very good for inflammation and arthritis pain ...it really does work and it's good for keeping the skin clear.

gardensofthegods I’m very sorry for your hearing loss! My mother also suffers from this and my daughter has a TBI and any noise irritates her. But thank you for trying to watch!

gardensofthegods I’ve never heard of chickweed helping with fibroids. If I had known that might have been a remedy, I would have tried that instead of having a full hysterectomy. An elderly friend of mine said that her and her mother ate this regularly after WWII. It was the only greens they had.

Chickweed is actually an extremely nutritious and medicinal plant. Maybe you can develop a taste for it.

It's very hard to completely defeat it but it does really knock it back. You might do better by spraying round-up but I don't like to use it.

i was told what i had was chickweed; however mine has a long root in the middle and a few right under the ground. I have sandy soil but mine doesn't pull up as easy as yours. So I'm wondering if mine is actually another type of weed. It spreads out like the one you show, but it is fairly difficult to pull up. I use a long fork and twist the root to get it up.

How do you prevent this chickweed from coming back?
@JoRoderick

We find that the birds also help to bring in the seeds. They help to distribute the weed seeds. 🙂

Our lawn is really bad with weeds. They have these sharp burrs. Walking barefoot on this lawn/weed bed is not a good idea. It's not my house, so it's just left.

Turn that ridiculous music OFF!! Good grief. Why do people think you need LOUD MUSIC in your videos?!
@dawnademar6839

I know it's been said, but I have to repeat... the background music is way too loud and competes with what is trying to be said. I too wanted to watch this, but it's just too much. Peace.
