Thank you for being up front and letting people know and decide for themselves. You guys have surpassed all other companies when it comes to light production. As a paramedic working in rural areas, light is critical. Making affordable light… is critical. I have 2 variations of the MCH. it is perfect. The best tool for garnering information on a scene and illuminating potentially dangerous places. I ordered the Chicro. You guys put America first. And your courage to outsource this particular light is evidence of thoughtfulness and a lack of greed. Honored to support your business and purchase your products.
Hey, I just wanted to say that it's absolutely fine that you guys are outsourcing manufacturing, sometimes the numbers just don't work out. As long as you guys continue to deliver quality products to the consumer then it's fine in my opinion. Plus, I'm loving my REIN 2.0
I will disagree with you guys in respect to non critical items being manufactured in China, and the harm every American dollar does in the pockets of our main global enemy, but I will 100% respect you being up front and not trying to hide your stance. Love you guys and your products, looking forward to the pistol light!
@@gordonbombay6627 "Cheap excuses..."? I honestly don't understand what you mean; not only was this a product intro, but a full disclosure and reasonable explanation as well. I'm not criticizing your perspective; rather, I'm genuinely trying to understand it... your comment, in my opinion, doesn't make sense. BTW, I'm neither associated with Cloud Defensive, nor do I own any of their lights; I use the Streamlight Microstream USB as an "admin/edc" light, and was simply trying to compare feature pros & cons.
Food for thought, what about selling this in a bundle with a single output high candela MCH? You could call it a patrol package for example, and that way people could use it as a One-Stop shop for lighting needs.
Microtech did the same with their SOCOM bravo. We’re super upfront, and even put some Chinese symbols in the box as a little upfront making fun of themselves too. Result: great Microtech design w top shelf Chinese manufacturing, and premium materials at an affordable price. Loved how they handled their business decision, and love how you handled yours. The consumer can decide which great product(s) they want to purchase. Personally, I love the USA made Microtech’s, and my Socom bravo is excellent too. I will be buying this…and the USA made pistol light when it comes. Good job guys. Full support. Smart, honest, business
Just a couple of days ago I ordered a Streamlight of this size because I wanted the onboard charging port. I wear a Kitanica hoodie in the garage that has sleeve pen pockets that are perfect for a light of this size. I just ordered the Chicro.
Looks pretty sweet. Will be very interested to see how it stacks up to streamlight macrostream (500 lumens). Either way I think I’ll stick to your made in USA stuff
Honestly I'd pay double to have it made in USA. One of the main reasons you have a loyal group of consoomers is because you make things here imo. Still bought one though. And your customer service is top notch.
Make a small 14500 defensive light. 600-800 lumen 15000cd. 4.5 inches with an aggressive texture and strike bezel so you could also use it as a kubotan. I find these 18650 still a bit big for pocket carry
@Cloud Defensive A 5 lumen low setting along with the 350 and 35 would be appreciated for edc... Often map reading or up close tasks at 35 lumes is uncomfortable to the eyes or too bright while trying to remain discreet in certain situations. It would also allow you to stretch out the run time. 35 is perfect for most tasks but sometimes you just need less light, and without the ability to use common alkaline cells you may be in a situation that it may be beneficial to use less light to stretch out the run time. Regardless, I'll still be buying one, love your weapon lights. Stoked to see an edc offering at this price point from you guys, made in China or not. 👍👍
How about a US made inbetween light? Like $120, 800 lumens or so and much less candela, slightly bigger than this but not quite the micro mch size. Could use a 18350 battery, but much smaller head with more spill, tons more battery life than the mch. I'd love to see that
@@youreright7534 ohhhh burnnnn. If you were right. I have two mch and got them both first gen. They suck ass. They aren’t 1400 lumens and it doesn’t work when it gets too cold. I have 50$ Chinese lights that work better in below freezing temps. I gave both my mchs away because my modlites are much much better
@@CloudDefensive being able to clip it to my hat is a huge deal for EDC handsfree admin stuff. It's the reason I still carry my Olight Baton III despite also carrying an MCH
I again have to recommend that you look into adding more versatility to your handheld lights. Unlike a weapon light, pocket lights are the opposite of unitaskers. People who are into the EDC game enough to know much about lights generally have a lot of expectations, especially when it comes to modes and UI. I don't even consider a light for carry if it doesn't have a
@Cloud Defensive Rember though, a light only has too much candela when it has recoil or the beam catches things on fire 😁 Make sure that pistol light can compete with the others that are pushing 54k to 69k candela
Cool. I’ll have to pick a few up. MCH is my daily driver. But nice to have something cheap I’m not too worried about losing. Your competitors micro light is $150. Might as well buy the small MCH for that price point.
Then why switch from the streamlights that already fill this spot? American made is really the only reason to swap. Not poopooing this light. Now make it in odg and I'll bite, because I have no impulse control
This looks like the Mateminco CSF03 but without the medium mode. The CSF03 has a better pocket clip but no usb-c. Are they made in the same factory? Also, the CSF03 can take AAA, is the Chicro dual fuel?
@@Actual-user I posed a question as to whether both lights are made in the same factory and if the cloud is dual fuel, both 10440 and aaa. Why are you taking offense over a simple question?
@@Actual-user I prefer the ability to both clip it to my pocket and my hat brim as an impromptu headlamp. Your need for deep carry isnt applicable to my needs
@@CloudDefensive I should have been more specific, a clip that can clip on your pocket and clip on your hat without having to move it. I don’t want to be fiddling around with flipping a pocket clip in the dark so I clip it to my hat.
@Cloud Defensive we understand you can clip the clip but I've snapped 2 or 3 clips doing this in the cold. Just make the clip double back on its self. What a missed opportunity
Great to hear! To flip the clip around you'll need to pop it off the rear of the light then move it to the front. It might be a little stiff removing it the first time.
Hopefully spending the respurces at home on getting the pistol light together. I'm probably going to be forced to go with another manufacturer at this point. Someone else's light is better than no light on my bedside pistol. Had high hopes a long time ago when it was announced. Reality doesnt seem to have it in my deck I'd cards.
Where are your driver boards made on your USA made flashlights? Also where are your reflectors made??? Why is their no “made in USA” on the lights themselves?
This light is not worth the price tag of $50, the emitter wasn’t even centered when I received mine better call over seas and check that quality control, very disappointed 😢.
Looks cool but I’ve got a cheap Bushnell/China special that does ALL of that except the recharge feature, that’s handy!! BUT so is the 1 AAA Battery it takes Haha 😂 you had me excited for a second!! Lol it’s 250 lumens 👍 it’s also $19.99 😉
Nope, the market would totally support that price being USA made and 2-3 times the price. I mean look at microtech knives they have the tiny UTX-70 that us only good for daily EDC tasks but it's USA made and almost 300 bucks. There are also other USA made lights that are not tactical and cost in the hundreds that people are buying left and right. Even Surefire has the titan at 90-100 bucks USA made and they are selling. Yall could have done it... just didn't want too
I loathe the argument that since we own some things that are made in China, we should simply accept it and capitulate. Just because my phone is made in China doesn't mean I should just throw up my hands and stop buying American made products when I have the option to do so. I would buy an American made phone if it were an option. I bought a REIN not only because it's a premium light for my rifle, but because it is also American made. I could have purchased an Olight or some other CCP junk and saved a fortune. I chose American made because it means something. Yeah, I'm 5 months late finding this video but I'm sharing my thoughts anyway. At least you're honest and upfront about it, but I wouldn't have made the argument that just because our phone or whatever else is made in China, we should just accept it. For the mediocre performance and the fact that it's made in China, I wouldn't pay more $20 for it, IMO.
Nervous chuckle after stating it’s ok that it’s made overseas because our phones are? I love you guys and the humor is funny but with a relatively simple light why not mass produce in the states?
Great question. The simple answer is we looked into it, and it couldn't be made here at a sustainable price. It was either not make the light at all, or have it manufactured to our specs overseas.
Hey quick update on the mch. It was in my car right next to my Olight mini warrior 2. Overnight it got cold. Which one do you think worked while being cold?…. It wasn’t the 219$ cloud with two settings. It was the Chinese light with multiple settings and modes and ui. The Olight clicked right on. I had to warm the cloud up before it would work. Which light do you think I’d depend my life on? Extremely disappointing.
