Didn't the 49ers and Rams rest their starters week 18 because they had locked up their seeds last year? Brou rides both sides of the fence. He is similar to many analysts who give two opposing takes, waits to see what happens and then claims victory no matter what happened. For example last year, like many Purdy bandwagoners, they want to both claim that Purdy is the next Drew Brees but then refuse to commit to whether Purdy is going to win the SB or conference championship this year. while Nick was literally saying the Chiefs would win the 23-24 Super Bowl since last off season. Before Brou was even a regular on the show when Nick was doing the show with Cris Carter during Mahomes first season when he was on the bench, Nick already was confidently stating that Mahomes was going to win multiple super bowls for the franchise.

Brock Purdy was 19/24 for 252 yards and a TD before his concussion in the 4th in Minnesota. He did not “play terribly”. And Cousins absolutely was dealing in the game completing 78% for 380 yards. Nick doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Also the Wk18 game against the Rams was backups.

The concussion is a bs excuse. Purdy himself said he didn’t notice any symptoms until after the game, and they have independent doctors who would have pulled him off the field if he was showing symptoms. The concussion also doesn’t explain why he played badly against the Browns, Vikings, Ravens, and every team they played in the playoffs. The common thread isn’t Purdy getting concussions, the common thread is Purdy playing badly anytime it’s raining, anytime they’re missing some guys, or anytime they’re playing a good team. Also you forgot to mention the 2 INTs Purdy threw against the Vikings, which makes his 1 TD look even less impressive.

Nick is being too sensitive. The big reason the Vegas odds are this way is because of the 3-peat. If the Chiefs won last year but not the year before, they’d be the favorites. But Vegas is rolling with history that a 3-peat ain’t happening.

@daxgotfacts Not liking Purdy is one thing. Nick systematically goes out of his way to diminish and disrespect Purdy. That's different. That takes a special intent. It's also reinforced by the fact that Nick always goes to great lengths to defend his own picks, and the Chiefs, who are not a pick per se but rather the team he's always rooted for, which makes him a rather uninteresting fanboy when it comes to them. Of course it would be stupid to pretend that Purdy is at the level of the league's best QBs, but he's definitely way better than his draft rank suggested. It doesn't hurt to give a guy his props when he plays genuinely well, but Nick is unable of doing that, and while amusing at first, it's now become mostly annoying.

I disagree. Fields had Moore, Mooney, Kmet and a very solid D and did little, particularly early in the season when the games mattered. If Caleb is just able to get the layups that Fields missed, their offense will be top 15.

I think you’re missing the point. CW can be a game manager THIS YEAR. As a rookie. Because the offense is so stacked. With KA, Moore, Odunze, Kmet, Swift, Herbert, Everett, and a solid Oline, he can be Baker and still have the offense be top 15 this year. Next year when KA is likely gone and he isn’t a rookie anymore, he has to show out. But the Bears have put enough around him this year for him not to have to be Superman out the gate. He can be Clark Kent and the offense will be good enough to be in the playoffs. Not to mention a likely top 10 defense on the other side of the ball. Caleb doesn’t need to be elite this year. He just needs to make the right plays and be special when need be.

Every time we get a football segment, I'm just amazed by the premonitions that Brou has. Caleb Williams has indeed never been in the position to manage a game like Brock Purdy. if he indeed has to come to terms to that position in the “oh all I need to do is this to win” and not stay in the no Lincoln Riley defense mindset of “well If I don’t score on this drive it’s over,” it’s over for the league. just gotta change the HC sooner rather than later if the front office is smart enough to see the only problems

Anyone who says that the 9ers offense lost the game against the Vikings last year, didn't watch the game or is just hating. The whole time, the 9ers defense couldn't get off the field! They made the Vikings swiss cheese O-Line look like a top-5 O-Line. No one talks about the brutal fumble by McCaffrey on their first drive. The missed FG... You go watch that game again...

Nick comes up with these wild expectations every year with guys, with no basis other than what he thinks/hopes for. The thing that’s usually the last for super hyped/talented QB rookies to learn is how to take the easy passes and play a boring/vanilla game. Just in case anyone is wondering, Kirk Cousins threw for 378 yards, 2 TD's, 0 sacks vs. the 49ers and the Vikings had 452 total yards. So yes, the Vikings offense did torch the 49ers D last year, which was one of the main reasons why the DC was essentially forced to be on the sidelines instead of the booth. I'm all for the entertainment of this show, but this dude almost always revises history to fit his narratives.

IMO Nick is spot on. Ask yourself this, do you think the Texans roster going into last year was better than this years Bears roster? If Caleb is even 75% of what stroud was in his rookie season then the bears can honestly make the Super Bowl I feel. The defense is elite and the teams strength for sure. The problem was the offense and specifically QB play but they literally this year have 3 WR 1s starting not to mention stud TE and a solid line with some decent rotation RBs and most importantly substantial upgrade at QB. They had a great draft as well addressing the needs on the team even though they were limited with selections.

glad nick pointed out what I noticed and have been saying, the NFL is trying their hardest to rig the chiefs schedule so they don't make league history and win three straight super bowls. I can only imagine how bad the officiating will be in the chiefs playoff games, if you thought last year was bad with the chiefs losing 7-14 points a game to phantom holding calls, oh man its gonna be rough this year.

This is a bad take. The "play every day but Tuesday" is just a unique quirk, not a disadvantage. The "49-day stretch" is just 2 away games, a home game and a bye, then another 2 away games--and only one of those games is against a playoff team. As a contrast, the Bills have 3 straight away games against the Ravens, Texans, and Jets, which seems much more brutal. The "short weeks" is the result of being the best team in the league and getting lots of primetime games. The Week 6 bye is the only thing that is actually bad luck.
