Not to the extent of shot creating, ball handling, shooting then play making. A prime James Harden would be considered far more skilled then Dennis Rodman. You say that but show me a top 15 "most skilled players in NBA history" list with Rudy gobert, draymond green, Dennis Rodman, and marcus smart... Come on man... @QuentinLucasQLuke
@QuentinLucasQLuke 22 дня назад
@amac9044 Bill Russell, Kobe, Jordan, LeBron, Duncan, Isiah Thomas, Larry Bird, Scottie Pippen, Kevin Garnett, Giannis, Dream, and even Shaq were all deadly defenders at varied points of their career ... footwork, stamina, understanding opponent habits, situational defense (go for the steal/block or just stay in front of the opponent), and athleticism (speed, strength, power, quickness) -- defense might be the most exhausting part of the game ... that's why physical freaks like A.I. could lead the league in steals by attacking bad passing lanes but were never consistent defensive threats. One of the worst basketball takes Brou has ever had.

@nsmith3128
@nsmith3128 21 день назад
I think people are born with talent. Some people work on that talent and it becomes a skill. Then theres a small group of people who are so skilled at something its acknowledged as a gift. I think LeBron is as hardworking of an athlete as we've ever seen. He can shoot a 1000 jumpers a day, he'll never be Steph, Klay or Ray Allen. The way people feel about Steph's ability to shoot is the way I feel about Kyrie handles and ability to finish at the rim. I think Kyrie and Steph are gifted. Defense is effort. There are super athletic people who aren't good defensively. There are great defenders who weren't super athletic. A good coach could teach a kid to become Jrue Holiday. Its all about want to. Ive seen Carmelo Anthony lock in randomly on defense and give people problems and he was considered "not good" defensively.
@aaronmcintosh4805

The way Wilds was able to articulate why exactly Kyrie could be considered to be the most gifted was pretty incredible. I wonder why he can’t use that level of analysis is other situations. It baffles me. But I definitely feel similarly about Kyrie. He may not be the biggest, fastest, strongest or most athletic but he pulls some stuff sometimes and it definitely makes you scratch your head. He easily has the best handle of all time. And his finishing ability is insane for anyone let alone someone of his size. He may not be the 3 point shooter Steph is, but he’s even deadlier in the mid range.

Wilt is definitely in the conversation for most gifted. I don't care if he played against dry wall experts. But he didn't. He faced a guy like Bill Russell about a hundred times and 11 time champ Bill Russell said that Wilt did every single thing better than him. The man shook Shaq's hand and it shook Shaq to his core. Wilt and Jordan once argued who was better, and the only one who could settle it was Chuck Norris. If you defeat Chuck Norris, you get the agreed upon results. He was once pictured with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Andre the Giant and they looked like normal people next to him. Wilt once scored 100 points in a game. Averaged 50-20 for a season against guys like Bill Russel and Bob Lanier. Led the league in assists one year just to show he could. He probably slept with your grandmother and all of her friends at a brunch one time. Closest freaks we've seen since have to be Jordan, Shaq, maybe Giannis and, definitely Wemby. But if Wilt shook Wemby's hand it would probably crinkle like a piece of paper. The man was all time gifted, that is not at all in dispute.

Just watched Rockets vs Knicks Finals highlights few days ago... One of best plays I have ever seen, ever, was Hakeem running to close out a player but then backtracking as the guy went to drive to the basket and he stayed with him like a homing missile and then swatted him away like a pesky fly. Insane footwork, agility and timing on that play. There is literally nobody that ever played the game of basketball that could do something like that no matter how much effort they put in. Shame they didnt beat the Sonics in 93 and then we would have had prime Jordan Bulls vs prime Hakeem Rockets.
