One time as a teenager I was playing paintball in the freezing cold and got shot in the hand. That might be one of the worst pains of my life. Definitely can confirm, things hurt way worse in the cold.
Given how cold it's supposed to be for that game, I'm not even sure it's an advantage for KC anymore. It's just damn cold and damn miserable for both teams.

I'll never understand why the Chiefs are considered a "revenge game" for Tyreek or others. This is what happened: 1) Chiefs offered Tyreek $20-22 million a year. Tyreek wanted $25 mil. Chiefs didn't have the cap to go that high. 2) Tyreek asks to be traded. 3) Chiefs say okay and made some calls. Miami said they'd pay him $30 million and trade a bunch of draft picks. Chiefs agree to the deal. 3) Tyreek asks if the Chiefs want to match the offer. Chiefs tell him that they didn't have the cap to pay him what he wanted before and this amount is actually more. 4) Chiefs trade Tyreek to Miami, get the draft picks, and win the Superbowl. 5) Tyreek started a podcast and had a billion receiving yards and touchdowns. Chiefs used the draft picks to build one of the league's best defenses. Ironically, one of those draft picks returned a Tyreek fumble for a touchdown this season in their head to head matchup. How did this become a revenge game? Revenge for.. what? Everyone seems to be doing fine.
Dude same thing happened in 2017 against the titans it was 2 deg at kickoff and I got endzone tickets for 80 bucks. It was awesome. Until mariota threw a touchdown to himself and they lost 🙃
It's going to be so cold that it wont be an advantage for KC. I highly doubt everyone on Miami hasn't played in the snow before. It's going to be hell for Everyone!
No chiefs have had many cold playoff games the past few years since they are always in the playoffs and pretty much are always at arrowhead. Chiefs win this pretty easy
KC lives in that weather. They are out there used to it. Miami lives in 80 degree weather. They are jumping off a plain the day before. I live in Canada and those first days of -30 degrees you know it's cold...but when it goes back up to -10 that's tshirt weather.
Doesn’t matter if you’ve played in cold before. Your body doesn’t remember 15 years ago. It remembers the last 15 days. Like I jumped in lakes in Iceland 4 years ago on vacation and got pretty immune to cold like that for a time. Now? In Southern California? Shivering at 37 last night 😂😂. If I were a dolphin I’d have been doing cold plunges all week. 15 mins in, then don’t warm up just get out and catch some balls or throw or whatever you do. Then repeat. Then warm up later. Obviously if too cold or blue jump in that sauna.
Exactly. Cold Is cold. But if Miami went out there a couple days early so they aren't shocked they'd be fine. But they won't so it will be a slight advantage to kc
The Chiefs did upgrade to a heated field back in 2016. Now, I don't know if they maybe forgot to put those pipes under the visiting teams benches or not...

I live in a city where a lot of buildings have heated sidewalks to keep ice and snow from forming...one thing it doesn't do is make the air around them any warmer.

I live in Canada...the cold isn't fun but I think the worst is near freezing temps in the rain. Cold rain and running was always worst than freezing temperatures and running. Well breathing hurts if it's really cold but we are not talking -40 here...
And just like that, much of the dolphins offense immediately decimated by nothing they can control haha. This is why having a good defense and running it well helps come January.

As an MLB in high school in Canada, I loved seeing offensive players go sleeveless but with balaclavas. Meant they were actually cold. And it meant I could hit them way harder. Defences live for cold weather games.

Football gonna feel like a block of ice. Chiefs receivers dropping normal temperature footballs. Ice football gonna be next level hard for them to catch. Miami can lean on that running game and limit passing to only when Tyreek has a deep shot called or they need a first down.

Supposed to be -17C at kickoff. And then only getting colder from there yikes. One thing about playing in the cold is everything hurts more, from the hits to just your limbs as your body slows down circulation to keep blood flowing close to your vital organs. This is gonna be a good game I feel like.
The Raiders/Titans/Broncos back to back to back in 2016 is a badge of honor for modern era Chiefs fans. It was like 35 and rain/snow/sleet on Christmas night against the broncos and it felt like a summer thunderstorm compared to the raiders and Titans games before that.
Taking it from one who was there where the Chiefs were down 3 tuddies against the Texans...there were crazy snowball fights in the stands. It got so bad, the game was paused and the announcer of the PA system stated NOT to throw snowballs onto the field. There's a dude I saw at the nose bleeds hucking this HUGE snowball and it lands at the foot and you can see it in the shot on one of the punt returns. KC has done well with biting cold in games past. What I think is going to happen is Reid drew up a plan where Kelce goes off, then Pacheco and then Rashee Rice and Justin Watson to the post. KC would eak out a win against the Fins and if they get passed that point...run into a huge buzzsaw before hitting thier stride in the SB.
I grew up in Wisconsin and our state playoff championship was always done the Friday before deer hunting which was right before Thanksgiving so we rarely had much cold and snow plus the college games were pretty much done by then so he didn't play much in the snow and cold until the NFL.
I accidentally punted a friend in college straight in the face 4 feet in front of me during a storm in Buffalo. He just happened to walk past me. I am far from a football player. We were just goofing around outside. He was a big dude and looked very stunned and then said "K...Think I'm going inside now".
I google "sports hub stream" and click the first link. I watch on my phone but that website is easier to navigate on a computer because theres like 3 or 4 pop ups before it will stream the game so I have to hit the back button each time, but with a couple minutes of effort I've always been able to get a perfect Livestream of the broadcast, sometimes its Spanish or russian, from Australia or canada or the UK, but it's still the game. But yes absolute trash idea. I think its fucked up for underprivileged families that only find joy from watching their forsaken city's football team.
Nah, that sounds like Seattle, lol. Normally, its between 15-35 in our coldest months and a lot of times sunny. Also, I've noticed my body has already gotten used to the freezing temps, I live in KC. It usually takes 2-3 weeks for the body to fully adapt to the freezing temps. This whole month, its been cold here. Anyways, those Florida boys with their 70 degree weather are going to be shaking HARD this weekend.
I don’t know, cold weather can be genuinely dangerous though. People always over estimate their cold tolerance, but frost bite doesn’t discriminate. I don’t like that they have games in that cold of weather. I live in North Dakota btw. Saturday is gonna be -20F air temp here. Northerners might act tough, but really, we don’t even like to run out and start our cars in this 😂
I think the NFL should force them to play the late window or at night. Heat strokes are real and in south Florida it's not just heat it's also humidity so if it rains it's even worse.

It's a HUGE advantage for the Chiefs, because the game is in Arrowhead. 1. You already can't speak to the peron sitting next to you bc it's so LOUD (I'm a native) and 2. That type of weather for a warm-weather team means automatic advantage, that type of weather you'll lose feelings in your hands/feet REAL quick.

The weather is definitely an advantage for KC. I've been watching Vikings games since 1969, and during the 70's, they had a number of home playoff games against the Rams. Bud Grant and the Purple People Eaters used to say that they almost knew the game was over as soon as the Rams players walked out into the cold. We used to have some brutally cold weather for them to play in, and it definitely helped the Vikings, because they were used to it.
I never understood. The no sleeves thing in super cold weather. By that logic you should wear long sleeves when you play in hot weather stadiums like Miami. Just dress for the conditions. Sportswear has come a long way. You can be comfortable even in very bad conditions.
I have no problem with the Dolphins playing an extreme cold! Let’s not all forget how they make the visiting teams suffer in the direct sunlight in the middle of September and October in Miami while the fish are in the shade. Too damn bad dolphins.
I remember being at the Packers 49ers NFC championship in Green Bay when Collin was the QB for the 49ers. It was -35 with windchill - I got what was normallyn a $450 45 yard line ticket for $175 because of the forecast haha
