Child's Play First Scene [720p HD] Charles Lee Ray (Brad Dourif) and "Chucky" is a serial killer and voodoo practitioner, who is being pursued by Mike Norris (Chris Sarandon), a homicide detective in the streets of Chicago in November 1988. Eddie Caputo (Neil Giuntoili) Charles's friend and driver betrays him by driving off without him after Charles gets shot in the leg as well as being caught by Jack Santos (Tommy Swerdlow), Mike's partner. In a toy shop Mike shoots Charles again. Discovering he is bleeding to death Charles swears revenge on him and Eddie, before transferring his soul by voodoo into a "Good-Guy" doll, which causes lightning. The lightning destroys the store but Mike survives and finds Charles's apparent dead body.

I know right...isn't it awesome, I felt that line too. I didn't know why it bothered me so much, and why it stuck out as much as it did for me...however, the words you used to describe how he's really feeling about his impending fate is what the real meaning is, he is merely upset at the 'inconvenience' of it all, as in "shit...I broke this one, let me find another one, quick!

Brad Dourif is just amazing as far as bringing the utmost realism in his portrayal, especially when he swears vengeance on his enemies; infinitely frightening. On the other hand, I sympathize for Charles Lee Ray because his nigh incalculable sadness when he realizes he's really dying; it almost makes me feel like crying every time I watch this scene.

Just imagine what Charles was going through in this scene. The woman he absolutely was infatuated with denied him, the cops were once again on his tail (this time having something solid to pin on him), and his only (that we know of) friend in the world abandons him when he needs him the most. Damn, ain't THAT a bitch. Guess he had it coming being a serial killer and all xD

As a huge fan of Chucky I PERSONALLY think the 2019 remake is kind of a slap in the face. No Brad Dourif and a hideously insulting redesigned "electronic" Good Guy doll. Brad's performance as Charles Lee Ray/ Chucky is iconic and no one, I repeat NO ONE will ever come close topping it or even match it. Not even Mark Hamill.

You’d think such a RIDICULOUS premise would have failed miserably BUT this movie had so much working for it beyond it’s crazy premise. Iconic performance from Brad Dourif coupled with great special effects and suspense. In the end, the ridiculousness of the film actually helped cement it as a horror classic. The best part? The franchise is better than ever! Seriously, the Chucky TV show is amazing!

I actually think it would have been better had this not been the opening scene. It gives it away right off the bat. It should have started right when it shows Andy watching the TV and making breakfast for his mom. This scene should have showed up as a flashback shortly after Detective Norris rescues Karen from that guy in the alley when he admits that he was the man who killed Charles Lee Ray.

It isn't that far fetched honestly. I'd like to think the reason he didn't go after her when he turned into a doll was because 1. Eddie left him to die and Mike was the one who killed him so he probably had a more of a reason for revenge at that moment. 2. Chucky didn't know her whereabouts at the time and was more invested in killing mike and Eddie and transferring his soul into Andy

There was a time to forgot to put away my horror movies. My 8 year old nephew found this movie and watched it without anyone knowing. So then he comes up to me going "ade dooey dem Bela" In that tone, Scared the crap out of me, when I realized that he had watched chucky I had a good laugh 😂

Lee Harvey Oswald was the man who assassinated John F. Kennedy. And as you know James Earl Ray was the guy who killed Martin Luther King.

I love how the plot of this movie is some serial killer voodoo guy possessing a doll. While that's funny on one hand it's also kinda terrifying. The scariest thing you can face is another human with thoughts and feelings. They know what they're doing and they're doing it for a reason. But it's also combined with supernatural horror in that it's technically a doll doing the killing. It's just really interesting.
