Childish Gambino - Because the Internet REACTION/REVIEW 

One of the best albums ever made!

honestly surprised that no one has commented this yet, but this album came out with a screenplay written by donald, so the album is like a soundtrack to a movie that doesn't exist. Reading it would give a lot of context on the album, but since "ain't nobody got time for that", the script is about a boy who is born rich and spends most of his time on the internet trolling people. he has some friends but he can't trust them, since he thinks they're with him just for his money. during the story he tries to create real human connections with other people, but he realizes there's no such thing specially nowadays. a lot more happens and I don't want to spoil it for you, but the main narrative line is that, because the internet, you're never alone but actually you always are

Loved your reaction, album is pretty in cohesive without the hour long script but im glad you got the most if it. If you wanna know more about the album you should check out dissect podcast, he rly gets into all if the album. so sad you the third person to react to it on youtube

Personally i give this album an 8, but i mean u gave it a 7 in the description so its not far off, i give "Camp" his first album a 5, although thats still with a little nostalgia because that was the first album I ever bought. I used to think it was a 10, but i recognize its shortcomings now and how he clearly had some personal issues that i think hurt the album because it becomes repetitive hearing him rattle on about his insecurities on every song. So yeah its a 5 for me. "Awaken, My Love" i give a 9, because i think its his best album from a musicality perspective. It sounds great, it pays homage to a classic sound, but does it in a modern way that's not corny, and all while being very experimental and a full 180 for his sound at least in terms of studio albums. I give his newest album a 4, and honestly it might be less. I don't even know the name of the album it's a date it's like March something but I'm not sure. His newest album just seems like he's trying too hard to be experimental. While the last one just seems like he was very passionate and it was being experimental for the sake of his passion but his newest one just seems like he's being experimental for the sake of being experimental. But also i only listened to it once and so it may be better or worse than i thought. One listen isnt enough to judge zn album like that. So his albums in order of release date i rank like this. I know it’s your opinion, but giving Because The Internet a 6.5 to 7 is such a disservice. Widely regarded as one of the best hip hop albums of the decade, and easily my favorite of all-time.

The reason the song The Worst Guys has such a long middle part with not much in it is because Chance the Rapper never turned in his verse for the song so there was a big empty spot in the middle

There are other songs that were released around this album that you should listen to. Sort of like a side b to the album Centipede and yaphet kotto - Before the album came out What kind of love, Melrose, 3005 secret track- After the album came out I’m sure I’m missing a few. The 30 minute video on his RU-vid page also helps with the understanding of the album as well as the script. Great reaction btw
