I got distracted half way through children of dune and never picked it back up. The first half of this video was exactly what I needed to remind me of everything that happened up until where I was at. Much appreciated

After hearing this one I doubt Denis Villeneuve will make this into a movie. I think he stops after Paul's death in Dune Messiah.

@@bobbyfischer9927 We aren’t just simply getting the full, straight forward story of Messiah in part 3… He’d most likely pull from several books, throughout the movie to drive home or at-least insinuate what’s to come, fully showing the consequences of his chosen path. Giving the movie goers the true meaning to Paul’s chosen path shown in the first two films and the reason for why billions had to die. For example of how Denis could have already incorporated an other book (even subtly)is at the beginning of each film, speaking the words in Sadaukar is actually the God Emperor speaking. It’s that type of little detail, respect that Denis has for the full story, and his genius way of making it all believable. Now I just like to think that’s the God emperor and I don’t care if I’m wrong but it’s just a point to show how part 3 doesn’t have to be stuck to one book, the “next book”. Denis has already changed some key things from Dune so who knows what he ends up doing or how he does it but the script is finished and that was my only point lol The ending to Messiah sucks anyways so I highly doubt part 3 ends the trilogy by Paul walking into the desert, blind, and alone. The End 🤦

I just finished Children of Dune, and it was AMAZING. The middle section, between the introduction of Faran'd's plot, and Leto being brought to the second out cast seich, was pretty boring for me. But the ending was insane. Definitely made the latter worth it. All the cover images of God-Emperor of dune make sense now haha

im listening to the audio books at work, and realized i often lost focus. i already read dune and messiah, so it was easy to follow those, but as im 4 hours into children of dune now i felt i was missing a lot. but i seem to have the sweeping points noted, maybe this will just be the gloss over i need to prep me when i end up re-reading the series

Yea theres allot more plots or "feints within feints" 😊 in this book also i feel the writer moves very quickly with allot of detail to make the world seem real which works but can be hard to absorb its why im here to get a summary to ensure i didnt miss anything

I can never really get used to a sentence starting with And. I read the original Dune in a hardcover probably four times in a row, when I was 11 years old. Herbert's writing style is definitely something you have to get used to when it sets 10,000 years after 10,000 years in the future, in an alternate history of Earth.

I have finished the third book and i have some questions. Please, no spoilers for the books ahead Why had duncan intentionally killed javid? Was it to force stilgar into killing him and out of neutrality? If so, then why? What was the whole thing with beur agraves? Did stilgar kill him only for them be captured by alia's men? Why was the preacher killed? And on whose side was the killer? Was he some fanatic or was he some priest of alia? Also why did the sandtrouts choose Leto? Or did leto do something to attract the sandtrouts?

Can someone help: I thought the B.G. who take the water of life can only get ancestral memories on the female side, and Paul is the first that can see ancestral memories on the male side as well. If this is true how can Alia communicate with the Baron, since she is female and he is male?
@teleiosdawyz4044
@teleiosdawyz4044 Год назад
There's no canonical answer for this do it's one of those things we have to answer ourselves. I've heard many explainations. It's not really other memory but which Alia herself dreamed up in her insanity. It's not the Barron but a powerful BG in other memory pretending to be the Barron. My personal favourite is the Barron is a true hermaphrodite with both male and female DNA, but presented as a male. While these explainations may not satisfy your curiosity, they're those I remember. Feel free to come up with your own. It is part of the greatness of Herbert's genius. He leaves these little mysteries for us to have fun with.
@D43TH3R
@D43TH3R Год назад
I don’t think it’s also connected with father and mother. The baron was on Alia’s mothers’ side. Muad’dib was Leto’s father’s side.

If sending a blind man to the desert is a gift for the worms then it is a pretty shitty gift. The worms are absolutely enormous, some of them hundreds of metres long and seriously wide. It would be like thinking that giving someone a gummy bear is a gift. Big deal.

Throughout the books there are multiple pronunciations depending on who is speaking and who they are speaking to. Just look Moo-ah-deeb and muowah-deeb. Your name has power Leeto.
