Thanks so much for watching! I hope you found this video on children's book covers helpful. And if you’re planning to write a children’s book, let me know! I can’t wait to cheer you on!
On my cover I don't have my main character because there is a big reveal of the main character in the book. Is that ok to depart from the formula because of that?
Of course! There are no real or actual rules; just guidelines. Perhaps you could do something similar to the series "How to catch a ..." - here we don't see the main character either, only parts of it (e.g.: tail, hat, legs, arms, etc.). I so hope this helps!
Hi Jaqueleen! The 30-DLM does not cover Amazon ads. You can go through the steps within 30-DLM more quickly, especially if you have your book already uploaded onto KPD. But if you have never launched a book before, taking it one day at a time would be best. I so hope this helps and answers your question.
Your guidance means the world to me! Your input has helped me avoid so many mistakes on my journey, publishing my first children's book. Thank you Eevi!
2 Questions ~ Is the font Comic Sans MS a good choice for the title on the cover of a heavily illustrated chapter book for children from 7-11? (That is the font we plan to use for our animal adventure story.) Should the table of contents, acknowledgment page and other front matter be in a plainer font, or is that a good choice for the entire book? Should be epilogue and other back matter use the same font, or should they be different from the story? Thank you from a first time author who appreciates all your videos and tips!
Hi Pamela! I have copied the link to my fonts video for you below. Hopefully this will answer your questions. As for using Comic Sans, I wouldn't recommend using it, mainly because it has been overused over the years. I so hope this helps! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IZr266bku5c.html
I'm so happy you found this helpful! Changing your cover doesn't require a new ISBN. You might find my video on ISBN's helpful as well, where I share when we would need a new one for our books. Happy Monday!
