A man who set fire to the historic Underfall Yard boatyard at the western end of Bristol's Floating Harbour just three days after getting a job there has been jailed for life, after a court heard he poses a long-lasting and significant risk to the public.
A judge ruled that Robert Boyd-Stevenson is a danger to the public, after hearing he has a long record of bomb threats, thefts and arson attacks dating back more than 25 years. Boyd-Stevenson, 46, of Headford Road in Knowle started working as a maintenance manager at the Underfall Boatyard on Tuesday, May 2 of this year.
