How have I never seen these features showcased before? All I have ever heard was that it was a laggier VRChat, but the prop spawning alone makes this amazing!

It's great to hear we got an absolutely more friendly alternative to VRC. The sad part is all those memories that some of us, with thousands of hours in game, made in the latter.

I remember playing CVR a bit when it was in Closed Alpha, it was honestly pretty enjoyable, it was a small but nice community, hopefully it can grow and improve in the near future, im 100% considering going back to CVR after a year of not playing to see how much it has changed so far

Im actually excited! Ive been really wanting to go back to when i didnt know anything about the game and communities and restart with the right people in the right way. And this might be it! Sounds like a fun time and place to explore and learn how to build my own things.

I think I'll give it a try! Hopefully the server issues have been fixed. The VRChat Community is at the end of the day, a community. We made all the world's, avatars, ETC. VRC is just a framework, and it's good to see the community realizing that they can band together. That they/we hold all the cards. We are what makes VRC. We stronger together! 💪

This whole situation with VRChat is reminding me of when AIdungeon changed its rules and became hostile to the community. In the end most people who used AIdungeon moved newer programs like NovelAI that were better designed and open to those communities. I see the same thing happening to VRChat now, with CVR being the newer and better VRChat.

someone tell the devs to port it to the quest as well so that we can go too we'd even pay for it. Honestly would rather support devs that care about their player base

some mods/devs of the cvr team are close friends of mine and the last couple of days they barely get any rest or sleep all they do is trying to get the servers going and they will with some time so i hope everyone keeps being nice and patient about it and keeps playing cvr

I had a friend who give me a Key for Chillout VR to access it early and was pretty impressed about it. However only problem was that at the time there wasnt really Avatar pedestals (public avatar worlds), not being able to wear avatars that you had in VRC, and that the playerbase wasn't as big as Vrchat. I've always kept my Eye on it here and there and it seems like now is the best time to switch considering the circumstances that have arisen.

the whole prop thing absolutely sold cvr for me, so fun to create things (even if i suck at it, and struggled to make a default unity cube) and just drop em into the world

The only thing that could possibly make CVR even better than it already is would be if they open-sourced it so devs could contribute to it directly while leveraging official documentation/comments in the code instead of messy decompiled code. I for one would love to contribute to CVR's development if it was possible.

Sadly I don't have a gaming PC but I will see you soon one day when I get one.

I'm not even someone who uses mods. I knew about VRC on end December/Early January because all my friends were into the VR craze. They got their headsets, etc. I was contemplating getting one but I just didn't have the PC. Fast forward to June/July, and I pretty much got my hands on new tech and a used (like new) 256GB Quest 2 for 230$. I wanted to jump into low poly 3D art, make worlds of ideas for VRC. But I guess that's long gone :U.. Oh well. Guess that RX6800M coming up next week's going to be used for a more deserving VR Platform ;).

One of my favorite parts about CVR is the spawnables system. I love that you can just spawn in an object in any world. My biggest gripe with it is that they don't really have anything that compares to VRChat's avatar parameters menu, which was amazing both for creators and users, because creators could specify how to organize everything very easily, and it was simple and intuitive for users

Frankly, the fact that people can't DM you in VRChat is what I love most about it.

Are there any plans for them to put ChillOutVr on Quest 2? I have a PC that's no problem but I've lately been more and more attracted to play Standalone. Anyways great video! Thanks for showing the probably best VRChat alternative.

Be aware, avoid uploading avatars of copyrighted characters. Since the platform is German, the users must follow German copyright laws. You may get into legal trouble. I had to make OCs just to avoid angering Toei. I made a saiyan OC.

This is hella interesting and Ill surly give it a try, but in the situation most of VRC moves over AlphaBlend will probably run into the same issue VRC has been battling. Funding. As it sits now, AlphaBlends patreon doesn't offer a ton of incentive for people to pledge, and the $8 one off unlock will barley make a dent

Is there's live close captioning option in Chillout VR? I'm a noob and had no idea there's a mod for live cc in VR Chat but then I saw the update. If Chillout VR can have this accessibility feature that would be awesome. If not I'll just do my best to listen to people carefully with my headphone.

The current state of CVR as of 7/27/22 (at least for me) due to the INSANE amount of traffic and influx of new accounts, both the API site + game servers are very touchy and in my experience it is hard to even connect to a world, if you can connect to a world, it will instantly disconnect you. THIS ISNT GOING UNNOTICED, in the API discord, they are currently chugging along to upgrading/ upscaling for the influx of users. I'd say figure out how to upload avis, get situated with the controls and it'll be a hot while till everyone can meet up via CVR!

Were you able to save your favorite avatar selections in ChilloutVR? I tried to save my favorites but they don’t show up in the list. I'm on Ubuntu 20.04/Linux. I was wondering if it was a Linux issue or if it was a more general ChilloutVR issue.

I tried this game out a while back, not in its Alpha or Beta but far back enough where only the goblins were on lol. Honestly a neat experience, It felt a bit like NEOS with how openly it allowed for things VRChat didn't, while at the same time keeping that "this is a hangout time not map making or system making time" that VRChat had but NEOS lacked in my opinion. It does feel a bit like VRChat back in the day, which means I can't wait for the large content creator rise it may have like VRChat did back in 2019 or so, honestly that was my favorite time lol, when everyone had some kind of skill or goofy skit to do. Ill be honest though, on that first day I went on, I was just slightlyyyyy.... Whats the word?..... weirded out? Simply because being that it was my first day I found a group of people who seemed close to the Devs, and when I asked questions for differences in VRChat and NEOS and ChillOutVR, they gave smart answers in the sense where they knew tech, but also was a bit unprofessional in a dorky way where they had some constant serious diss for the other games. Like, its nice to have an opinion and even nicer to be able to speak out on those opinions, but as a first timer there, hearing a bit of toxicity on my first day was a bit odd. It was the kind of "not read the room" kind of toxicity too, the kind that seems unnecessarily snooty when your just there to chill lol.

my one question is, is this available for quest 2? if it is, i could check it out with my friends (i personally am a pcvr player)

there's another game called Neos VR too, so not just Chillout VR only. Only reasons lot people moving to Chillout VR because they allowed Mods compare VRChat and plus plenty more going on Chillout VR compare Neos at moment. but them both games are good and fun.

Yeah I can't create an account on ChilloutVR. I assume it's a user overload with so many people trying to get in. Like I get a 502 error trying to get on the website. I left VR Chat because I'm a disabled combat vet that used mods and now it's gone. I used mods to help talk in game and used mirrors. Mods was a total game changer.

I saw this drama by accident, I am a Developer mostly focused on Front-End Development, but I also have experience in mobile development, game development and other things. I ve been watching vrchat content from time to time and ive noticed that there wasnt any effort from the devs to improve this product at all. I know many projects which are supporting their communities like fully in 100% and seeing this move from vrchat is pepega.... idk what kind of logic is behind their heads, but imagine not preparing all these needef features especially for disabled ppl before enabling and releasing the eac version, unbeliveable man... as a developer by myself who clearly love to make stuff for others its pain in my ass.

Okay no I just downloaded and got the mature access just to see if it would let me show avatars but since I joined there's been only invisible people and floating name tags there's no fix I tried enabling everything from steam to the ui in vhilloutvr and the community is just people who hate corpse apparently

I'm still going to play VRChat because it holds a special place in my heart that can't be replicated or replaced (minus the terrible devs), but I will definitely also play chillout!
