I love how he truly respects the men and women of the military. He supports them when they come home. He works closely with wounded warriors. But we all need to support them when they come home. Not just with words 3x's a year for those holidays

If you ever come to the states, wear a hat that say Veteran and see the reception you get, on the streets, in restaurants. You will have total strangers coming up to shake your hand and thanking you for your service or saluting you. For a lot of us, this is very important to remember. Love the way you respect our vets. Thanks for doing this! It's the West Point Glee Club. West Point is the Army's Military Academy. Established in 1802. Sadly, the bloodiest battles and war that America has fought we fought each other. Trace also does songs called Semper Fi, dedicated to the Marines and one called the Empty Chair, which is something that our veteran organizations like the VFW (veterans of foreign wars) Amvets and American Legion do, it's a lone small table sitting by itself set for 1 person with military and American flags on it.
You missed the beginning when the wounded soldier Lt Andrew Kynner (hope I heard right) (wounded in Afghanistan) talks about the Wounded Warrior Program sitting in his wheelchair on stage and tells the crowd to remember that it's not about the war but the warrior ... and then Trace starts to sing. I hadn't heard this before. I made it to Vietnam before it hit me that a loved one has served in every war...then the tears couldn't be stopped. But that's not unusual with a song by Trace. Thanks for doing this one.

I'm sorry for you loss while being grateful for those who serve. I'm named for my Uncle who paid that same price near the end of fighting in German during WW II. I hope that somehow you have found piece and know that to many of us your husband was a true hero.
I am the proud daughter of the Air Force veteran of 27 1/2 years, and I can truly say my heart goes out to you and all of those families that have lost loved ones who paid the ultimate price. just note to some of us we know the cost of our freedom and I know it’s hard as it was to be handed the flag from my dad. I can’t imagine what it would be like with that being your husband.
Wonderful reaction the choir was the West point choir was point military academy choir. And this is one of those songs that I start with dry eyes and I finished with tears every time. Is wonderful song. Another song in Spain you might enjoy is Trace Adkins semper Fi.

The West Point Glee Club. My son graduated from there. Watch their video of "Sing Second" where they sing the Alma mater of West Point where part of the words of their school song are "Be thou at peace".

As a member of the USMA class of 2017 and of the Cadet Glee Club, thank you for such a heartfelt reaction. Though this performance was before my time with the Glee Club, I had several opportunities to perform with Trace at later dates and I can confirm that his care for service men and women, and veterans is unparalleled! If you ever come to the US and if ya'll have veteran hats of your military wear that hat when you vote here and almost everyone will come up to you and shake your hand and will thank you for your service!!!!!!!! My grandmother raised me going up to veterans and shaking their hands and to tell them "thank you for your service " and now I am raising my grandchildren to do the same thing!!!!!!!

I love Trace! He is from a little town close to me! This song really gets me because I’ve had a family members serve in every war and even lost a few. He honors them so much.
Thank you for this reaction. The first part of the song is talking about the US Civil War. Both of my Great Grandfathers fought for the Union, one of which had 4 brothers that fought also, of the 5 brothers, only 3 came home. God bless all who served and are serving, including their families who also carry a burden of having their loved ones in harms way, day after day.

Another great military appreciation song by Trace is "I'm Still a Soldier". You definitely need to check that one out. Being you served yourself, I believe you will be able to relate to the song. If you're looking for something on the other end of the Trace spectrum, check out "One Hot Mama" and "Chrome". Both are really fun songs and the videos are great.

What an Amazing song! Trace Adkins does such wonderful, gut wrenching, songs in honor of our military and those who have fallen. I have had military in every generation of my family, and some are in Arlington. Please add two more of his songs - Still a Soldier and Empty Chair.

I'm so glad you're enjoying Country music. It is ofc my favorite, and probably the only true American genre. Country music hasn't always gotten the respect and appreciation it deserves here at home, but it's made a huge leap in the last 30-40 years and is bigger than ever. It's nice to see it making an impression overseas as well. Trace is one of the greatest with an amazing voice, and has quite the catalog! Like many Country singers, he sings about real life, usually from a personal perspective....so you never know what you're gonna get. It may make you smile, laugh, cry, or even ponder the meaning of life. No matter what, it will leave an impression.
