This band needs to make a full comeback. This brand of metal is badass. So much better than the "every band must be a slam band" crap. As much as I love that stuff. Metal needs to come back to this kind of stuff in some capacity!
Thank you RobI Younger bro and me went to the show at House of blues sunset strip from Japan. We took pics with Jim and Matt. Best memory for us. This tour was best ever!
So many including myself have always said show me an excellent lead guitarist and I'll show a Juggernaut of a rhythm guitarist! Here's your proof 🧾. Also to be transparent I was the vocalist in several local Heavy Metal and one Hardcore band. Can't tell you how much influence I took only from Phil Anselmo and Burton C Bell but also heavily from Mark Hunter with those mid to upper midrange screams. Totally unmistakable voice.
I think you should make a video to catch up with Chris! I remember when he let me into the place you were playing at before the show in Grand Rapids in 2005. 😎🎧🎸
When I was 13 my buddy's dad brought us to a free chimera show at the Grog Shop in Cleveland that they did and by far one of the most brutal pits I've ever seen one of the guys with us went home looking like someone ran him over with a bicycle😂
Well, this is yet another unexpected yet greatly loved and appreciated surprise! Fuck yes, Rob. Cheers for the upload! And to whomever recorded/mixed/edited this together for a lowly fuck like me to enjoy, thank you. Fuck Christmas, this is Chimaira!
This show was amazing, but it also demonstrates why Andols was the best drummer for Chimaira. Yes, You could make the argument that Kevin Talley and Austin D were technically better, but Andols style fits better for what Chimaira do.
@@MagnumVal there is much more to drumming and metal than aggresion... ppl need to realize that groove , technique ,timing are what makes a drummer stand out .
It really is sloppy, especially compared to how great he normally plays. Kevin was not on point with the double bass that evening. Marks vocals sound great and the band sounds tight! But the double bass spazziness takes me out of it at times.
I was 18 when I first saw you guys in London back in 03. I though Jim was the bassist from I’ll niño so when I asked him outside the venue how long has he been with I’ll niño , he told me “why don’t you go fucking asking him yourself?
Very cool to see this show. The date of this show is 08-25-2004. Machine Head headlined I filmed this show from up in the balcony by the stage. I don't think my angle was included in this mix.
A little late to the party but can confirm this was the road rage tour coheadlining with MH. Trivium was the support. I recognize my shitty board mix... skmikey \m/
Saw you at Ryan's or the Lab in St Paul in about 1999/ 2000. Wish I would have went to the Quest show here in this vid...the Quest imo had the best sound in Minnesota...I know a friend of mines band opened for you guys..Sublevel..Greg Chilton...anyway..your band will always be a staple in my listening of music
I was at this show. Left front of stage the entire set. I got Jim to flick me off and it was the highlight of my high school years. Saw you guys live every time you came to Minnesota, didn’t matter the headliner. Miss you guys!
First time I was introduced to Chimaira was 2006 with Killswitch engaged. Your band opened for them if I stand correct! Best show I went to not knowing the line up. Best part is I been to the last two Christmas shows.
Hell yes man I think this was when I first discovered this band way back then..... It's awesome as fuckin hell that they are jamming again lately 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉......robs a bad mother trucker for sure.....the day I bought their CD my girlfriend at the time ( she hated death metal btw and I've been into brutal death metal since 1988-89 lol )..... But she asked me "" oh wow who's this"",?????? She actually was jumping around and really getting into the slow chuggy breakdowns n grooves which is what this band is absolutely known for 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟💯💯💯💯💯
Class thanks for sharing , killswitch , chimaira, god forbid , shadows fall Dublin 04 still to this day one of the best gigs I was ever at , hard to believe only one band is still around today we need reunion tours for those 3 great bands after this covid shit is finished , following year got to see chimaira , dark tranquillity , hatesphere Manchester great times for sure such a good show 🤘🤘🤘
Totally awesome performance! Love this band so much! It's so sad, that this band isn't anymore. Keep up this great channel Rob,your videos are always a pleasure and your one of my favorite guitarist of all time. Your style is amazing! Much love from Germany 🤘🏻✌🏻🤘🏻✌🏻🤘🏻
Dude...this is my city! I was at this show! Saw so many great ones at the Quest. I specifically remember destroying the pit during the breakdown at the end of Eyes of a Criminal! 🤘🤘🤘
Good god the ending to eyes of a criminal is absolutely filthy, it needs taking out back and scrubbing down with a wire brush, damn, I love that song 🤘
Want to get your ass kicked and love every second of it? Go to a Chimaira show. Want to double down... See Chimaira & American Head Charge together. I really enjoyed that time of my life.
I still have a signed shirt with that skull logo on it and I believe it’s from this tour. Still my favorite concert tee and I’ve amassed a pretty cool collection over the years. This set list is amazing!!! Thanks for sharing this Rob!!
I'm not really even a chimaira fan song speak, I dig a nice chunk, others not so much, but this content and everything you've been releasing gives me a huge new appreciation for it. Hats off to you sir thank you for your musical service \m/
@@RobArnoldWorld mission accomplished the moment I heard "Taste my..." You're definitely an unsung under rated legend in my book. Chimaira was the band in my opinion that pretty much took nu metal and formed metalcore. Love what you're doing now man.
Outstanding and powerful. I love the sound and fucking intensity. And everyone headbanging. Rob why did you cut your hair when the self titled album came out. You looked so awesome headbanging
I saw you guys right around this time on Slipknots Vol. 3 cycle with Fear Factory at the Hard Rock in Orlando. Ended up buying both your records soon afterward. Good times!
I remember seeing Chimaira in LA at The Roxy, 2003 I think. I went mainly for Soilwork and was blown away when Chimaira played. Was an instant fan for life after that.
