my cousin used to work for MTA. he said MTA management keeps two sets of books, one for audit purpose. they only cared about themselves. BTW if you own a house/home, you will find out it's difficult and costly to maintain a house/home.

@ kingsking2816, Go to the channel called “Living in China,” it is being run by an English guy named Jason Lightfoot and he does comparisons between train stations in China and the US all the time! He also does videos that compare China’s clean streets versus American homeless-infested streets are the time as well! If you want to see anything being compared between China and the US his channel is the one to check out!

The metro stations are also extremely beautiful and clean in other cities all across China. Some cities even have beautiful trains!! There's a beautiful cherry blossom themed train in Wuhan.

Not sure about Beijing metro but all my hometown's (a 3rd tier city) metro stations are airconditioned. It doesn't make sense for any metro station to be without aircon in summer.

I think for sure air controlled. If you already have a chicken on your desk, certainly you would prepare sauce for it.

I've been to both Hong Kong and mainland China. Stations in China are WAY WAY WAY better than those in Hong Kong. No comparison. (PS. I'm originally from Hong Kong although I grew up in the West)

Hong Kong MTR stations are much older and most mainly for practicality. Don’t spend so much on decor. Plus HK MTR has to account to its share holders. Not sure who built the Majnland MTRs but probably local govt.

@MsStar266 Yes correct, they are built by the local governments. Governments are not companies. They shouldn't be thinking about making money. When it comes to beautifying cities, building roads, brightening up places, planting trees and building parks and museums, it is ALWAYS worthwhile even if they would lose money. I think China is doing a very good job in this respect.
