Fresh satellite images reveal a worrying development on the India-China border. China has deployed advanced J-20 stealth fighter jets to an airfield near Shigatse, less than 150 kilometers from the Sikkim border in north-east India. This deployment raises concerns about a potential escalation in tensions between the two countries. Experts point out that the J-20s, China's most advanced fighter jets, potentially giving them air superiority over India, which currently lacks a 5th generation fighter in its arsenal. China is yet to fully withdraw troops from eastern Ladakh, where a deadly clash occurred in 2020. Their bathrooms are just big holes in the ground. Drive 30 minutes outside of any city and it looks like a poor African country. The J-20 is a look a like 5th generation fighter with circa 1990 stealth technology. It can be detected by U.S. radar long before the Chinese pilots will know they have been targeted. So, to call the J-20 a 5th generation fighter is a bit of the stretch. Coincidentally, there are no countries jumping to purchase the J-20. That should tell you something.

@@lebum0566 There is no switch on-off switch for fifth-gen fighters with peace time and war time modes. If you undestand how signal systems work, radars detect the signals which bounces off the jets. Jets on the other hand use their air-frame with various composite materials and concealing the bottom of their jets and its missile bays to make sure it absorbs as much as signals as possible to reduce the cross section. Stop watching too many sci-fi movies. There is no true stealth on the planet. Every flying object can be tracked, detected but varying at varying degrees.

Advanced is a relative term. The F-22 is 19 years old and more advanced than anything China has. Kids in India have smart phones with more processing power than the F-22. The J-20 is obviously not stealthy on the ground. We all can see them. So can a cruise missile aimed at the airbase. Only the Chinese says that the J-20 is stealthy. Any stealth aircraft that gets close enough to a radar is no longer stealthy. India and the U.S. have both detected the J-20 with their fighter aircraft.
