China in July 2021 looked back at 100 years since the founding in Shanghai of the Chinese Communist Party. In several video's I am looking back 50 years to my earliest days when I began following events in China. In Saigon Vietnam in 1971 when not reporting on a brutal war, I had a habit of listening to and recording RADIO PEKING broadcasts. This one marked Labor Day May 1, 1971. Historically - an interesting event: It was the last time that Marshal and Vice Chairman Lin Biao, Mao's designated successor in the late 1960's appeared atop Tian An Men Gate with Chairman Mao Zedong. By the end of 1971, Lin had disappeared. He died in a mysterious plane crash allegedly trying to flee China after plotting to kill Mao. I also include some notes about the anthem of the international socialist movement: 'the International.' (All the content herein is for educational, historical purposes only)
