I don't want any spams in the comments here, this video was created to show other countries what China looks like and we thoroughly enjoyed this trip. Let’s not talk about politics here, everyone can think as they think. I was born and raised in Hong Kong, I feel that Hong Kong is very different from mainland China. I know that Hong Kong is part of China and when I said that it was my first time in China, the comment I mean is “mainland china” as it really is a different feeling for me. The flag I put to this thumbnail is for people to understand I’m from Hong Kong and we have our own HK flag that I’m proud of, same as you that you’re proud of your own flag. So let's be kinder, respect each other and let others enjoy the video and not write nasty things that can ruin the impression of Chinese people.
You can't say China is super safe because of the camera. London and New York also have lots of camera. How about their safety? Camera is just one of the reasons. The most important is the people.
yeah different mentality not only can you have problems with people and but also government in the west but in Asia it’s only problems with the governmnet
Safty always comes from a whole system, is not just one simple factor. For example, it makes nothing if your police doesn't do anything when the camera has caught that bad behavior.
It has to be said that Google and other well known apps are not banned from China. They have chosen not to abide by Chinese laws so opted not to operate in China.
Exactly! The Western anti-China propaganda kept on spreading this false narrative endlessly despite being aware of the truth. Also, why are HK people so oblivious and blinded by prejudice towards their own country China. I know the truth about China even though I'm not from China. Some HK people is so full of themselves, really annoying! No offence. Peace.
In fact, Google Ads services have huge income every year that comes from Chinese e-commerce business ...😅 The company itself was for sure never 'banned' in China
just the search engine cant be used, though I can still see their ads. but I can't use google drive either, It's information censorship that google refuse to the govt so they can't use search engine in china. So is chatgpt, the govt can't censor data on chatgpt so they banned it in china
It is true to some extent, at least it is one of the most advanced cities. There are world-class mobile phone manufacturers, manufacturers of electric vehicles and power batteries, drones manufacturer, home appliances, gene technology companies, laser equipment manufacturers, instant messaging and game operators, 3D printer manufacturers, numerous international trading companies ... You can realize your dreams in this city.
I don’t know if it’s the best but for sure it’s among the best city in the World. The city is still young though. I think it’s around 40 yrs and it’s still developing.
In China, there is no need to worry about the issue of having too many cameras at all, because the camera only works when something is posted. If there is a conflict or something like that, the camera will work, and the police can quickly restore the situation and solve the problem through video. It is completely fair and just, and the video will also be shown to the parties involved. If nothing happens normally, then the camera is just a decoration
the first mistake you made was Google or Facebook wasn't banned. they chose not to abide Chinese law and they left on their own. Google setup shop in Hong Kong, China. China has the foresight to have its own sovereign internet and they have similar big internet companies such as Google or Amazon. EU lacked that foresight.
TBH If I were the Chinese regulators I wouldn't trust any of those data stealing companies. Mark Zuckerberg is a know crook since he stole Facebook initially and the company was also probed for sharing data with 3rd parties.
@evelinericksson1611 No surprise, 1) Justin moved to Australia at his 17 (check his information). 2) China changes every day, if you don't visit a place for 1 year, you may get lost when you go there again. Shenzhen is 1 of the 11 Great Bay Area cities, 1 of the 4 core cities. You may imagine new malls, CBDs, infrastructures.... That's why many things may be new not only to Alina but also Justin. 😂
Good god China is far ahead of the western world. where I used to live for over 12 years. I was in China in the 80s during which only bicycles were the means of travelling. I was back there several times and saw the fast progress china is making. Good video uploaded by you . Thanks
FYI: some of those "security cameras" are road and traffic cameras. Not just for catching bad drivers, they relay real time traffic conditions to driving map apps
I am actually thinking of living in Shenzhen. I can't speak Chinese at all, but I have considered every city on the planet and this one seems to be most advanced and I only care about technology and ease of access to things, events, food, medical care, entertainment, etc. It is also probably the safest place on Earth due to the amount of cameras it has. And I am also very introverted, so food deliveries by drones and robots is a big plus. I don't think there is another city that is even close to this level of advancement at all levels.
Yes,you can come to Shenzhen!you will have a impressive life there. Life in there is very convenient and brilliant, and the people there are very nice and easy-going.Welcome to China!
I’m with Alina, I’d definitely go crazy in that shop with the phone cases. The pig case was so cute! You couldn’t have me shopping in China because I’d spend every cent I have 😂❤
There is a strange conclusion that as long as there are more cameras, cities will be safe. Why don't other countries do such a simple thing? The vast majority of cameras in China are used for automated control. Who has the time to monitor you every day? Your thinking is too backward, isn't it?
Wow blow my mind for the drone delivery in sz. I go there from time to time, never knew has drone delivery. I shall try next time thanks for the information.
Since you grew up in HK, and HK is part of China, you don't refer to the inland as "China", instead you should call it mainland, or inland unless you don't consider yourself Chinese, which is a great loss to you.
Shenzhen is awesome. FYI: Google and Facebook were not banned in China, they left the Chinese market voluntarily as they refused to follow local regulations, unlike Microsoft and Apple, whose products you can use in China.
Did not know that. Don't understand why Google or Facebook couldn't make a product/service specific for China. It's worth it for the Chinese market. Is Microsoft Bing and Apple Safari search engines working in China? Must be more to this than what we know and understand.
@@user-ei7ud5oj5b yes Bing and Safari both work in China. Though not officially acknowledged, Google and Facebook left under pressure from US officials to paint a negative image of China. Microsoft and Apple, whose revenues in China were already enormous at the time, pushed back and stayed on (for now).
Justin and Alina, you both make such a fantastic team! It was a real pleasure watching you both share so many of your exciting adventures with us! I can't believe I just discovered your channel today. Binge watching all your videos now!
Haiyah! If you come from HK then get a HK issued dual number sim! No need for VPN (just like how you normally surf the web in HK) and you get China phone number!
We wish to travel to China, and as a tech person, specifically Shenzhen but as you mentioned it's challenging due to the very specific nature of the country...your guide to Shenzhen's food and payment systems was so helpful. I now feel a little bit more confident in taking the plunge 👍🏽😅
@@nggjfhAs a UK passport holder u can free visa to Hong Kong for 6 months. EU passport 90 days. Japanese 30 days. So what? That doesn't change the fact that he is saying, and btw Chinese people don't need to go abroad to see desert, tropical island, snow mountain, 45,000 km of high speed train to literally anywhere around the country, can you do that in your tiny island? They can go to museums full of their historical artifacts with thousands years old, they don't need to go abroad to visit Disney land or Universal studios, they have 55 kinds of minority cultures to explore in their country too, can you do that?
擂 and 雷 are two different words altogether. The former means beat or pound while the latter is thunder. You are however still correct otherwise in that 擂茶 is pounded tea.
Hi Justin, Alina. First time seeing your videos. Thank you for sharing Vietnam. Growing up in Nha Trang and every night we walk to the beach before bed time. Hope lots of people subscribe for you ❤🌞
How can you have a title saying China is not what we expected, when within the first 2 minutes you literally said you have been there before? I know click bait titles are important, but come on
this guy has very narrow mind and limited exposure on traveling. I would say he couldn’t make any sound observations or judgements no matter how extensively traveled, because he has a closed most mind.
30:00 I am not Chinese, and I come from a family with Western medicine background (doctors, nurses, pharmacists) but I practice and use Chinese herbals & medicines. I trust anything from nature than synthetics. I am now convincing my Chinese boyfriend to do the same, haha! 🙏🏻😌
@@jojohan85 It is a ancient story about a woman trying to poison her husband (whose name is dalang) with Chinese medicine decoction, since the woman had an affair with another man🤣 This story is one of the chapters of the famous ancient Chinese literature , the literature was made into TV shows and the story is one of the most classic episodes, so it is quite well known among the Chinese😂
Came across your channel. Great content guys. Love your interactions. By the way, do you need to apply for a permit to fly your drone, especially in the middle of Futian? Thanks.
@@sara.cbc92 Google chose to shut down its search services in China, that's all, whereas Microsoft and Apples remained active... Google as a company is never banned: it still runs a massive advertisement service in China, with hundreds of Google employees in multiple cities
03:27, I just curious, you cand read the chinese character ,why you don't say "Because I'm chinese" ,but emphasize you grew up in hongkong instead, kind of weird
