Taiwan is never been governed by the Chinese mainland, and they have the right to seek independence, China and Taiwan are very different in ideology.

Taiwan was for at least 2 hundred yrs governed by China until Japan took over briefly. After WW2, Taiwan was returned to China so it's only justified that China wants Taiwan to stop their separation moves or face the consequences.

Taiwan was govern by democratic government when China is in Democracy but China is in authoritarian so the taiwan do not want why you want to insist to them that they dont want

@@winniesiapno9483 That "democratic government" tore apart a peace treaty in 1946 and launched a civil war trying to wipe the communist party out. They failed miserably and ran to Taiwan in 1949 to hide out. If some ppl lose a civil war that they insist to launch, they don't get to carve out an island and declare independence. No! They shall surrender and go thru trial for war crime instead. The current situation b/t mainland China and Taiwan is a civil war that never ended.

@@TellenJones lol CCP never ruled the island but ROC(Republic of China) the current government of Taiwan ruled the mainland. Chang Kai Shek(ROC) was China's leader during WW2. CCP lead by Mao where rebels sponsored by the Soviets. ROC fled to Taiwan after their defeat from the soviet backed rebels. You failed to grasp the complex history buddy.

@@TellenJones The China you're talking about was the Qing Dynasty after the overthrow of the monarch it became a republic which become the ROC (Republic of China). so the government in Taiwan was the actual ruler of the mainland.
