I put my pump wrapped with sound deadener in a piece of 100mm pipe and then put sound deadener around that and capped at both ends having the fuel line in and out at each end. Pretty quiet.

Thank you for this great tip! We have found running the heater at its peak the pump noise is not to bad, but may still look at doing what you have done. Cheers and Thanks for watching!!

Good install what I did is put a small inline switch to turn the panel off it would be better than disconnecting
@escapevisitplay
@escapevisitplay Год назад
Hey Steve I too did consider putting an inline switch but i had a bullet connector in my kit so chose that instead, either way i believe its a safe idea to isolate the heater when not in use, Thanks for watching!

Thanks for your video of the install. I recently installed a 5kw in my van using the same method as you. Same down pipe flange and same sika as you. Just a word of caution on extending the exhaust. I’ve heard that the extension should be a larger diameter to reduce back pressure. Thanks again for posting.👍
@escapevisitplay
@escapevisitplay Год назад
Your welcome! How do you find the 5kw, Does it get too hot? Really happy to hear we both have the same thoughts on bits an pieces used to complete the install 😊 I just completed the extension and petrol tank yesterday, the extension is the same size but has no bends so I’m hoping it will be fine. Will be doing another video shortly on how it all goes for it’s first use so be sure to keep an eye out 😊 Thanks again and happy you enjoyed the video

@@escapevisitplay I think the 2kw heaters would be more than adequate for most vans. My van is only 16ft so I’m sure I’ve overdone things with the 5kw version. Most of the complaints I’ve heard online are about the heaters going past the set temp ie. set to 18 but continues past that up to 24 or 25. This appears to be more of a problem for those wanting to run them overnight. I won’t be running mine overnight as I got it for those cold bleak days where I just want to get out of the weather and stay warm. I’ll keep an eye out for your next vid. Cheers

I've bought 2 heaters like this for my 30 foot travel trailer. I'm replacing the propane furnace and using the existing ductwork. Hopefully it works out good. I have a 38 seer minisplit that should do most all the temperature control but in case of extreme cold weather or emergencies the diesel heaters will be there

Wow mate 30 foot that’s a huge travel trailer, yeah definitely think 2 of these bad boys are the way to go, have used mine only a handful of times and it’s awesome! Good luck with the installation and thanks for watching! Cheers

Thanks for the video. Very helpful. Silly question but when you insert the fuel line to the black piping do you push it all the way down to the metal connection?
@escapevisitplay
@escapevisitplay 2 месяца назад
You’re welcome glad you enjoyed! I pushed mine all the way, works perfectly 😊

Was the electrical connection hard. I see you have a BMPro Battery Management System. I considering buying one and installing it. I thought your video was very good compared to others I’ve watched but would’ve loved to have seen more on the electrical side. That’s the bit I’m concerned about.

Hi mate, I didn’t plug into the bmpro, instead I went directly to the battery, just be sure to fuse protect both ends of the cable run, hope this helps
@jamie-hb8gy

Should have just used a turret plate as you have a gap between the ring and the heater plate.
@escapevisitplay

That would have also been fine but just wanted to some additional cover, works great 👍

Great vid! Do you think the ticking is resonating through the cable cover around the fuel line ? I was about to cover my fuel line with the same stuff to protect it but have read that it should be rubber mounted just like the pump to stop the transfer of sound.
@escapevisitplay
@escapevisitplay Год назад
Thank you for watching! I don think the ticking is resonating through the fuel line cover, I have tried with about 2 meters of the cover removed with no difference in sound What I have found is running the heater at its highest temp the ticking disappears, which has worked the treat for us 😊 Thanks again for watching and commenting

Hey mate. We have a Malibu also and have a heater to put in. How does it go not running through the BM Pro system? Does it throw out your usage remaining much?
@escapevisitplay
@escapevisitplay Год назад
Hey Mate I personally have not experienced problems not going through the BM pro, however the heater itself does draw power (more so on startup) as the glow plug warms and will have a very small impact on your batteries, hope this helps. Thanks for watching Cheers

Has it been working great running on its side?
@escapevisitplay

Hey mate, not sure what you mean on its side? The heater is the right way up and the fuel pump well makes no difference, hope this helps 😊

What makes you think a 5kw is too much
@escapevisitplay
@escapevisitplay 14 дней назад
Have noticed that these heaters run best when ran flat out, which for us makes the caravan at a nice comfortable temp, without being too hot. Feel that if I had a 5kw heater this will be too hot for our size van
