I was born and raised in Jamaica, and I was socialized to believe that Jamaica was a Black country, and every Jamaican who I know that is Black is very proud of their African heritage and their Jamaican nationality. It does have some Irish influences, like for example the Irish pronounce the number three as "tree" same goes for many Jamaicans. And although the country is mainly made up of Afro-Caribbeans, it is still ethnically diverse and is in no way an African country. For any of you still foolish enough to believe it is. Well there's this thing called the African United nations and guess what?/ Jamaica is not apart of it.

The out of many motto is not Jamaica's motto, it was given to us by the English when we claim independence. America had that same motto and at that time black people were in slavery so they were not talking about black people . most Jamaicans don't believe that motto it's mainly those other races saying that and Jamaica is a black country the indigenous/original people of Jamaica are black and they are still there to this day. those other races are visitors.
