Chinese scientists have recently unveiled their groundbreaking prototype for a lunar research station.
Known as the "Moon Pot," this innovative structure was designed by a team of researchers from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Resembling an arched structure reminiscent of an eggshell, the Moon Pot aims to provide a living and research space for astronauts on the moon.

China has make significant progress in its space missions marking more than two decades of Chinese human spaceflight. Shenzhou-18 with three taikonauts will conduct about 100 experimental projects in China space station. The taikonauts have made comprehensive, systematic and in-depth preparations for this mission, focusing on extravehicular activities (EVAs), emergency response, space station management, equipment maintenance and experimental operation. They will stay in orbit for about six months, and they will witness the arrival of the Tianzhou-8 cargo craft and Shenzhou-19 crewed spaceship during their stay. Well done.

It needs an airlock.. Remember how dusty and static it gets on the Moon...you dont want to be tracking moon dust into small spaces.

The Moon dust or lets call it top soil is like fine broken glass or roof tiles , very abrasive and sharp, plus electric statics as hell, so haw do Chinese will build the habitat out of it? the Chinese gonna bring the tofu concrete to the Moon....ouch very $$$$, build it on Earth a small station and take it in to the Moon. Cover it with compressed dust for extra protection, that is the way.

I think this approach to develop the shelter is wrong, and this method requires too much resources. What they should think is to use minimum resource to develop shelters. A inflatable and dirt filling bubbles for shelters are more feasible than printing, a bandwagon thinking is a bad idea and requires too much resources. Also, printing a shelter is not a novel idea and is too slow. 🤔🤔💭

@@limwiching2277 Creating half egg dome using printing technology will require lots of effort and resources. How do you print a half egg dome? How do you glue the dirt together to make rigid enough to against the gravitational force for a shelter? Using air and dirt fill inflatable, you do not have to worry about finding water to make the construction materials for shelter.

@@kongthai.."concrete ... isn't airtight." ... the 'airtight' layer (also 'thermo', another layer) are easier to solve once 'structure' is solved (for vacuum env)

Initial base on moon will probably be from earth. With a lunar orbiting space station and farm, food, water, bath & toilet is available. Landing and takeoff shouldn't be difficult with plasma propulsion. Construction engineers and technicians can experiment on what really works on moon. 🤣
