Great video Chinny!!! With a lot of these 80's and 90's games it is almost like they would pick any TV show at random and the make a rubbish game out of them.
The music on the Speccy and Amstrad ports triggered some memory of another game... That led to me sifting through old cassettes trying to properly remember what it was. 10 mins of my life I'll never get back (but still probably more enjoyable than playing The Jetsons). The game was Turbo Esprit btw.
Point of order: by April 1992 it'll have been Europress rather than Newsfield (and pretty much at the end of Crash I think). I wonder if they were a bit more lax when it came to accepting brown paper envelopes stuffed with cash by this point? Game is pretty janky, but then the Hi-Tec stuff generally is. The slowdown on the ZX version I'd say is evidence of it being a slack port of the CPC version, it would make sense to do things this way around given the need for lots of colour.
I remember hearing somewhere that The Flintstones was actually set AFTER The Jetsons.. Please don't play the K9 theme tune even for a second it causes me physical pain (and yet K9 And Company is STILL better than Season 24)

It's amazing, because, before Hi-Tec released the arcade version of THE JETSONS on every 8- and 16-bit computers, MicroIllusions released a Point 'n click adventure game on the Amiga in 1989 - which is even better and more impressive than this arcade game. 😺👍🕹️
Does anyone notice the inspiration of the interpretation of the themes on the C64 and Speccy? If you strike the "George" out of the first line ("Meet Jet-Son") followed by the little melody after that I hear many a similarity to Danny Elfman's Simpsons theme.
For a kid's game, the difficulty level is inconsistent and the structure is unfair. There's the germ of a good idea in there, but they paid more attention to the graphics than the gameplay. This is in my collection but I don't think I ever played more than a few screens into the first level. If I was to recommend a game from the Hi-Tec era it would either be Quick Draw McGraw or Potsworth & Company (now there's something obscure!)
It's like the bloody ET game all over again with those holes! Shame, as this could have been a fun game and graphically it's quite nice with recognisable characters, but they just forgot the gameplay!
Please stop falling into a hole because it makes you shout, and that makes the audio levels clip, also I jump slightly because I'm distracted and it catches me off guard, and it's just a whole... thing. A hole thing. Look just... watch where you're going ok
Yeah this game seems horrible and is certainly not a game I would like to play. That being said I honestly prefer the look and music of the CPC version even though 16bit computers are technically better.
