The Shaw Brothers (8 bit gamings fourth best coding brothers) strike again using the same engine we've seen in the likes of Cavemania. Skatin' USA is a platformer where you traverse the level on a skateboard collecting cash.
Released by Atlantis on the Spectrum, C64 and Amstrad CPC, ChinnyVision looks at this budget game on real hardware. Still at least this one doesn't have ninjas.....

It would be an improvement especially when you run out of ammo. Or just be able to jump in them.

Only "skate" game I ever really got into was Skate Crazy and that wasn't even skateboarding or the half pipe in Californian games

Well, shooting badies that run towards you is quite unfair as the bullets can hardly be avoided. Why not just guys that try to beat you with sticks? Graphics look quite nice on the Spectrum. On the C64, it is way too fast.

I have to agree with the Commodore Format review - this is terrible, across the formats. The Superkid titles were not fun, and this one is especially bad. I barely enjoyed it when I cheated on the C64, so I cannot imagine anyone putting time into playing it properly. The inertia just makes the Spectrum version harder.

I don't think _Skatin' USA_ is terrible. I've seen much worse games - but I've seen a lot better as well. The CPC version is average and pretty forgettable, and the C64 version looks far too fast to be playable.
