Hang on for the annual blast of warbirds at Chino, California, on Saturday 4 May 2019. P-26, AT-12, Tigercat, Privateer, Thunderbolts, Lightnings, Mustangs, Mitchells, Invader, much more. If you've been watching the Airailimages Channel for a while, you know the drill -- whenever the ambient audio with engine sounds is usable, we use it. But when it is not usable for a variety of reasons (extreme slo-mo; loudspeakers playing commercial music; noisy generators, etc...) we turn to music for that portion of the audio. My uncle joined the army in 1938, he was 16. He took flight training there when it was Cal Aero field. Before Pearl Harbor he was in Burma flying with the Flying Tigers. A captain at 19 years old. He has a star there.

Go to this show every year. Always well worth it. The history is amazing... and Im not sure you can see this anywhere else in ths world. The numbers of old warbirds is insane That Tigercat always stands out. Not the most historic, but a beautiful plane. And the tein engine noise is always great

They were beasts in their day. But the A-1 Skyraider (flying with the Privateer bomber) with the bumblebee on it is actually 20% larger.

naughtmoses - yeah. Although the P-47 was a fighter while the A1 was an attack plane. I was reacting to how small the pilots look while the planes are taxiing. Truly you could avoid flak by running back and forth inside that plane.

I think the crew (from Arizona) thinks of this as a long and ongoing restoration. For right now, they are happy using this aircraft's own former Coast Guard number.
