Mandiri is a awesome beachie, I used to surf there 20 years ago when Nev was still alive and there was 3 places to stay Zanes, Andys and Nevs. always hung with Zane..hes still there...support him if your up that way. pantai panjang in Bengkulu is just as good. I surfed it 5 years on my own when i moved there in 2013_18, or with one other aussie expat. I looked forward to the days when it was small enough so a few local mates would paddle out. 2020 was the first year I didn!'t leave oz, since i was 20.. ill be 56 in may..sure feels weird. think i will get a camper, loads the rods and boards and check me own backyard out. have to start getting off the piss and losing some weight first. its a bugger getting old.
