Coronado made the first cattle drive in what is now the U.S. Then Chamuscado, then Espejo, but these cattle were for a food supply. Juan de Onate made the first cattle and horse drive to start the first ranchos in the U.S. in 1598! From this came the cowboy, roping, rodeos, roweled spurs, boots, chaps etc. One of my ancestors was a soldier/driver with Onate. Luciano Martinez
