I lost mine the same year. He was 17, and I had him since he was a few months old... it still hits me sometimes, too. And sometimes I even think I see him out of the corner of my eye like I used to years ago. I like to believe he's still here with me in his own way. He will never leave my heart, that's for sure!!!

@@ptszpwr783 mine was only 11 but he was am American Bulldog. He unfortunately got brain cancer 😭 He was only a couple weeks old when I got him (fighting ring got raided: litter needed home I was a student so I had time for him) I don’t think I’ll ever get over his loss; he was the best boy!

Thank you for showing us all that you can be vulnerable and true to yourself, while also inviting positivity and creativity. I am sincerely sorry for your loss... the amount it hurts shows how much they were loved, and I swear all our babies (furry, naked, or human) can always feel how much they are loved. You and David have had the happiest, most beloved babies, and they felt them from the moment you took them home until it was time to cross the rainbow bridge. I feel your pain so deeply right now, Emily. I just had to put down both of my cats a week apart from each other. I had them for a long, lucky 17 years. I am so shattered and distraught. The grief is just so overwhelming. Sending you and your husband all my love!💜

My condolences for your fur babies! We lost a cat from cancer almost 2 months ago, and it was sudden and so hard to deal with. We lost our first cat almost exactly the same way. It's never easy. I am so very sorry for the loss your fur babies. I totally understand your pain. I had to have my 2 Goldens put down back in September. We chose to pay to have it done in our home where they were comfortable. Hardest thing I ever had to do. They were my rocks. 14 and 13. I so feel the pain of the emptiness, sadness and the horrible quiet. Give yourself time to grieve, they are your family. Sending hugs and prayers.

I am so sorry for your losses. Our animals are our children so I understand that love, and when one is lost, it's the same as losing any human part of the family. Not everyone gets that tho. But not everyone is an animal person. But take comfort in the fact that they had David and you for parents and lived a very happy life. Also, just wanted to say, the nails came out BEAUTIFULLY!!! Please take all the time you need to grieve and recover! Lots of hugs for you Emily. Enjoy and love the dogs for the time you get them, and remember that even though you feel their absence, to them, you were there for them their whole life. I lost my baby girl 2 years ago, and it gutted me, but I always remember that she was the happiest pup. Lots of love, and make sure you take time to yourself.

The nails turned out beautiful though. I love how that darker purple adds almost a goth element to the nails, without taking over. Your ombre is absolutely beautiful, as well. I love using those frame charms like that. I usually do glitter domes, but I've also used them to frame a flower charm. Kinda like the flower was encased in resin, in a frame. It looked really cool.

I'm sorry Emily. When u said the absence feels very apparent it rlly hit home for me. My dog had to be put down in Dec 22 2018. All the little things she did that I was used to, that I took for granted, that she did, I missed so much when she was gone. Like the sound of her nails on the hard floor. Looking up and seeing her peering into my room at me. Feeling her little nose touch the back of my leg as I walked. Her putting her paw on my leg on the couch when she wanted pats...I miss it all to this day. The house never felt so empty and lonely.

Oh so very sorry for your loss. I still grieve hard for all of my babies and it’s been a long time. When that happens just take some time and let it happen. You will be fine. You’ll rescue more babies and it’ll happen again. When dog mommies hearts break from the loss it is patched with a piece of each baby you rescue. Still hurts and sucks but your heart is bigger than most and can handle it. ❤️💔

Sending you and David so much love hun. Not sure I can stick around long in this video as I have 4 doggies and they are my babies since we can’t have real kids, but wanted to send you lots of love. I wish they could stay with us forever. My vet once told me if love could save them, they would live forever. 💜🐾🌈 I had ferrets and due to their genetics and over breeding, many died of spleen cancer and it is so aggressive…I hate it. Don’t stop living your life because someone you loved stopped living theirs, grieve but don’t grieve for too long or you’ll lose yourself. Remember but don’t stay there. You’re still living and here. Don’t forget that. You deserve to be happy that’s what your babies would’ve wanted

I'm so sorry for your loss, we just had a scare with our 21yo stray cat my husband found as a kitten, and lost our 17yo dog i rescued as a puppy few years back. We are never really ready for them to get seriously sick, let alone leave us. Take all the time you need and process however you feel best to. But know you have them good lives and they loved you back. That's so sweet of Evie to send you that gift! HAPPY BIRTHDAY
