I’ve baked from scratch and mixes for 50 yrs and I tell people all the time there is no shame in using a boxed mix. Cooking is art but baking is science, and science calls for precision, so boxed mixes are simply ingredients that have been precisely measured for you to guarantee success.
I’m not ashamed to use box cakes..I don’t let people make me feel like that. Because while they might be a great baker I’m in the top of people when it comes to cooking and using spices.

I love how you cleaned out all indg. out of the measuring cups. My daughter and I had a custom cake business for 6 years, but I've been making cakes for my kids and family for over 40 years. We used boxed cake mixes almost every time. I love your video.

I love the kitchen!!! So, pls. Invest in a small scale for about $30, or more! Having to eyeball the layers, taking it out and in to measure it, is extra work! There are recipes on RU-vid for crazy cake or depression cake that uses vinegar and baking soda..no eggs or milk. These cakes were made during the Depression when eggs and milk were scarce. I've made a carrot cake and you'd never know it had vinegar in it. Try it!

My first time watching you 1st I want to say love your soothing voice and like that you use a spatula to get all the ingredients in and out of the measuring cups. When I doctor a cake mix I put every thing inthe bowl and mix it for a couple minutes then I ad the cake mix and only beat till just incorporated. 😊

Stephanie best box cake I have ever made. I used store bought frosting…needed one in a half. Frost cake once…sit in fridge for bout an hour and then frost again…makes a smooth finish like Mrs Traci’s.
