Oh this is going on my to do list. My husband loves chocolate cherries. And I have that book too. He actually got it for me. I said I needed the new Ball Blue book and he said he saw it at Walmart one trip he went alone unsupervised a year and half ago. He got me jars too that day.

OMG JENI GOUGH. I BOUGHT CHERRIES YESTERDAY FOR ANOTHER RECIPE. I DECIDED TO DO YOURS. I CAN NOT RAVE ABOUT THIS ENOUGH. I DID USE 1/2 TSP OF ALMOND EXTRACT. IT IS SOOOOOOO GOOD. I AM GOING TO DO ANOTHER BATCH TOMORROW SO I CAN GIVE OUT FOR CHRISTMAS. YES I AM YELLING LOL.

I made chocolate-cherry jam this year using half as much cocoa and adding Sabra (chocolate-orange liqueur). Creme de cacao could also booze it up for the holidays. Love the extension on the faucet so you don't have to lift the canner!

I'm so making this one! I feel stupid now...I picked up a cutter like u used at a flea market I think and thought they were biscuit cutters.🤣🤣🤣 I've never used it and have always thought why is the biscuit cutter serrated 🤔🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️. Now I know why!🤣🤣🤣 I will most definitely be using it now!

I'm gonna be making this also! This recipe is not in the Ball book that I have but thank goodness I read all the comments to see that you used 6 cups of cherries! I would have guessed it was 4 cups but I saw it made 6 half pints so I wasn't sure. Thank you Jeni for this wonderful recipe.

It's kinda like the "pinch of salt" approach. Almond extract can enhance the flavor of any stone fruit but especially cherries. I use an eye dropper sometimes, so I don't get too heavy-handed with it, lol. Pomona's Pectin has their own version of this recipe on their website, so I'm going to experiment with that. I would also be tempted to eat it right out of the jar. 😋 Also, those Pur jars are really starting to grow on me... I'll have to check our local Ace. Thanks again for the inspiration!!! 😊💖

Just canned 2 batches cherry pie filling. I just put this on my to do list, glad you made it, now I am for sure making it, funny I was thinking about adding almond extract, now I know I will. I pit all the cherries and freeze them, I check every one, gave a jar of jam to some one once and had a pit in them, they were not happy, so doing it ahead and freezing gives me the opportunity to check them better. Looking at the batch you had you must have been busy. Nice video Jeni.
