Hercules Candy thank you Steve! I do enjoy what I do, your family is unique and very special. Thank you for sharing so much of what you do with us! It’s cherries next for me!!!! 🍒
I enjoyed fun and happiness with you watched your caramel And now chocolate video am; fun and laughs with melted chocolates and your applying them! Its great time with you, Kate ! Yum! Discipline! Yes
Is this funny! I‘m a fan since…(?) and was scrolling down. And down. And a bit more. And now I‘m watching these first shots and be in love! Is this cute?! Thank you so much for leaving these first videos: I really love them!
I found your channel fairly recently and decided to watch in order. Thrilled to see you follow Hercules! I’ve watched them for years, before they moved from the house. Your channels have a lot in common
Lovely to rewatch the video that brought me to you, I was watching hercules candy and they mentioned you had made this video, So popped over with the link they put up, and been watching you ever since, :) and often rewatch videos from you too, have abeautiful weekend Kate x x x
This was also the video where I found Kate! I was a Hercules Candy fan and they mentioned her 🥰 January 2018, I wonder how many subscribers Kate had then?
Karen is a sweetheart. I found their channel because Steve was making the chocolate covered cherries. One of my favorites and I wanted to find out where the creamy insides came from. I was hooked instantly. They do put the chocolate on metal tables. The marble was used for the cooked candy. Yours looked fantastic and the wrappings beautiful.
I recently found your channel because of spinning and went back to the beginning of your videos. I’m so thrilled to find you are a fan of Hercules. They were the first channel I followed many years ago. I haven’t tried chocolate-covering anything but have made made Peeps in a Puddle. Back to my binge watching!
You did a great job mimicking Steve with the chocolate puddle and the shaking off of the excess. I'm very impressed with your initiative and follow through! Great job! The wrapped goodies look fabulous.
HOWDY 💜🇺🇸👩🎤 You make each new lesson look like fun. I do so enjoy your enthusiasm. The more I see of bits and corners of you magical home .Kate you have created such a beautiful and pleasant place to be. Signing off Scott's wife Vickie
This video is what brought me to you! I have been watching the Hercules candy family since they started. Aren't they great. You did GREAT Kate. . Try those cherries, they look hard to me. I make a lot of candy at Christmas time, but like you would love to order from them...BUT the postage.. So we will just keep watching them..... stay warm..
I follow Hercules Candy here on RU-vid and they suggested giving you a look. Well, what a wonderful suggestion! My mouth was watering watching you make those caramels. Looking forward to more entertaining and enlightening vids from you!
Ian Sloan oh!! Thank you so much!! I really enjoy HC videos. I was very surprised when terry started filling a basket with things for me on today’s video!!!!!!!!!
Hi ! Just been watching Beechgrove Garden. Talking about herbs. One they mentioned was Dyers Camomile. It can be used for dying and I recalled you and Anna talking about growing plants that can be used for dying. Btw, it's a yellow daisy like flower. Just a bit of info. As always I do enjoy your videos Kate. Take care.
I’ve just found your channel on 7/26/18 and I’m in love. Your a doll and I do believe that your home is very warm and inviting. As are you. I’ll be watching from now on. I’m from Utah USA . Thanks for sharing!
That was so fun! I've only discovered the Hercules videos lately since I'm trying to make my own chocolate goodies (mostly barks and molded things) and heard about you on their livestream and I think you did a great job! I'm still trying to get tempering down to a science myself. I hope the kids loved the caramels and appreciated your efforts!
I have been watching Hercules Candies videos for quite awhile now. They have moved into a wonderful new space. I enjoy watching them very much, along with YOU, lol! Your caramels look lovely! I am now going to go find something sweet lol. See you again soon! xoxo
So delighted! I only just discovered The Last Homely House now in May 2022, but it seems that Kate and I discovered Hercules Candy at roughly the same time!
I have watched Hercules candy makers on RU-vid...you wonder what makes you stop and watch certain videos, but they must have had something that caught my eye. I think they were making some kind of pie. I admire you for wanting to try out candy making...not an easy skill, but yours looked delicious and I'm sure were an appreciated gift. Love seeing your home and garden and all the things you do. Thank you for sharing.
So enjoyable. I heard about your you tube videos from Hercules you tube. Terry was picking out chocolates for you from one of your friends. I had to check it out. I love the Hercules videos.
I have just discovered your videos. I watched your five part series on carding and spinning. You mentioned Hercules Candy so I had to watch this video too. An aunt of mine had a small loom and would weave placemats and runners. She also knitted. Her needles would just fly! Once a year she would head to one of the craft festivals and sell everything she had made during the winter months. She would purchase more supplies for the next winter and any money she had left over she would put towards a trip.
Busy Beaver sounds like me and your aunt would’ve got along just fine! I have a real need to know how to make things! I’m not quite so good at the selling part though!!! 🤔 thank you so much for your interest xxx❤️
I just found and subscribe to you from Hercules Candy. You did awesome job on the caramels, that's my favorite candy. Look forward to watching many more of your videos
My Mother used to make chocolate covered cherries. It was a two day process, with the sweet dough filling having to be refrigerated overnight, before having the cherries inserted and then being dipped in dark chocolate. I hung over this process, anxiously awaiting the finished product.
I'm glad to meet you here. I also have watched Hercules candy videos for quite a while. Great job with your caramels. I have done the chocolate covered cherries, but it was before I found Hercules. They make them the same way my Dad taught me. I look forward to checking out your videos. Once again, great job from Georgia, USA
Rebecca Foust hello Rebecca! So nice to ‘meet’ you! I’m really wanting to try the cherries - they look fabulous! I love the Hercules family, they seem to have a genuine affection for one another and they work sooo hard! And they are vegan! 😳😊
What a grand 19:43 minutes I've had watching this episode. Caramels for seniors: hmmm. So I made divinity as a sharing for Xmas for our senior center quilters and chopped gum drops up really fine. Told them it was geritol vitamin gmmies......I'm bad. Thank you
I love watching the Hercules candy videos too. I tried making their maraschino cherries , the first time I was anxious and didn't leave them in the powdered sugar very long, they turned out well, just not a lot of liquid. The second time I tried I rolled them longer while kept adding more sugar. I also found , like Terry mentions, the longer they sit the more liquidy they get. Do give them a try, I think you'll enjoy it.
Lynn Marie I’m going to! I watched Steve do them, it didn’t look too hard - and - as you say - it’s all about the sugar. Steve cracks me up with his slow speed and how careful he is, while terry is crazy and energetic! And that angelic boy Max, all in the most cluttered basement! With the psychopath Karen upstairs. Yes, it’s entertaining alright! 😂
I just found your channel in later videos (quilting) and have chosen to go back and watch them chronologically so I can learn more about you. So far I feel like we are kindred spirits, although I'm a lot older. I'm enjoying what I see, but I find the sound quality lacking. Perhaps in later ones you have the microphone closer to you?
Just love the new introduction. You lead such and interesting, varied, creative life. You never fail to entertain with something that grabs my attention. Lucky friends they will love those chocolate covered caramels. Am I right in thinking it is the same Nancy that you delivered many moons ago? Take care x
Oh right...I was a fan of your lovely blog😍 and just some how remember you talking about these two cute we girls Nancy and is it Cala...loved the dolls house you made...was it for them can not remember now getting old and past it😊 xx
hello there ive been watching from the beginning of your videos and in this episode i see that beautiful chair that you had bought for your dad to sit in it during christmas did he sit in it and did he enjoy sitting in it and by the fire and well done on the carmels chocolate covered carmels
What a wonderful job you Did! I really like that foil you wrapped those in! I live in the states and have never seen foil like that on a roll. I'm gonna try and find some now! Great job again and you have lovely cats. 😻😻
Theresa Dowdy oh! Thank you so much! Yes, that parchment lined foil is so good, I hope you manage to find some! Thank you for calling by! (I really enjoy Hercules!) 😊
Oh I know who you are talking about here. I came across a family making old fashioned hard candies and saltwater taffy on youtube! My Mother just loved saltwater taffy!
they look and sound delicious - sorry that my comments are all over the place lol - but i'm a new subbie and just enjoying your videos - everything you do are things i have a passion for - well i have much to watch now - thank you xx
OH! please do and if you go, tell them i sent you! Kate from the Last Homely House - they have sent so many subscribers to me - it's nice when I can return the favour! xxxxx
I followed them too but it was a bit to much American candy for my taste so I gave up. But they inspired me to make beautiful chocolate lollipops for my granddaughters christening and small swan like chocolates as a treat for visitors and now I will be making choclades as favors for my daughters wedding. You would be better of if you used the some callets that Callebaut chocolate have especially to make things like this. They are pre tempered and you just need to melt them in the microwave. They have video’s on You Tube that explanes the method.
Giggle Giggles I found the recipe online. There are many to choose from, this one is called ‘creamy caramel’ and has butter and cream and golden syrup in it. It was very chewy and creamy! Delicious in fact. I could try and remember which site .............
Giggle Giggles, I cheat n boil cans of condensed milk in the can. It makes a delicious caramel. I boil it for about 2 hrs, if my memory serves me correctly. Be very careful when you open the cans or else it can squirt on your hands n burn you.
Like your videos, I do have a hard time hearing you sometimes. I can always hear the music at the beginning and and the end and when the mike is closer to you.thank you
I was most of the way through a comment when a mystery something got hit (this is a new computer for me) and OFF my comment zoomed into cyberspace. Ah well. I think you are getting very good at this RU-vid thing very quickly! My first thought was 'Oh my god! She's going commercial.' Happily that's not the case. Since I see Kristi Nicol is here, I imagine she has mentioned Colette O'Neal at Bealtaine Cottage Goddess Gardens to you. You and Colette should be friends. Another amazing and creative woman.
Sherry Faught oh! I’ve just woken up to your lovely wonderful comments! I’ve read every one and loved that you took the time to make such lovely observations! Thank you so much. I found Kristi via Collette. I don’t mind being in front of the camera and I wish they did because I like to engage with a real person. I’m so enjoying making these little RU-vid’s. I’m afraid I’ll have to miss this half moon 🌓 as I’m staying with my Dad for a few days and the creative urge is quite elusive here. 🙁 There will be something ‘birthday’ though!! You are so very kind and thoughtful I don’t know how one acquires followers, but I treasure every new subscriber, all 33 of you! Xxxxxxxxx
I think I came to you via Kristi. But I'm so glad you know Colette and Bealtaine. While Kristi is lovely, I feel a deeper closeness with Colette. And with you now I hope to develop the feeling of visiting another friend as often I can. Thank you for responding with such enthusiasm and openness.
There may not be many of us now (33 ) but I'm willing to bet there will be many more. I didn't find anything where you said how your dad's visit over Christmas to your home went. I hope this visit with him goes well. As much as we love them it can be difficult visiting for extended periods as they grow older. Sending you blessings.
Sherry Faught I’ve no idea how RU-vid grows, but I’m grateful for every new sign up who isn’t family! 😂 Things with my Dad are ok, but he is like half a person without my Mum after over 70 years together. It’s not going to be easy for any of us now. But he’s a great guy and we’re making plans for growing veg this summer so that’s a hopeful sign. Christmas will be happening this weekend for me! 😊
Chocolate and caramel. Two of my absolute favourites, yum... As I’m watching you cover the caramels I noticed your wood stove and it’s a Jøtul. Oh my, We had one when I was young. Haven’t seen one in years!
yes - it is my favourite thing in the kitchen - I love it - so easy to light and fill it with logs and it stays alight for 24 hours! wonderful old friend xxx
Susan Brockbank hi Susan, I’ve been right back through my ‘history’ on this iPad to find the recipe and I just can’t find it, which is stupid because I’ll want to make it again 🙄 it was rich because it had butter, double cream, two sort of sugar, vanilla..... I’m going to try and find it by searching. They tasted really good. Good luck with your chocolate covered caramels! 😊
Going to check out their channel - I love chocolate!!! My daughter loves to make chocolates for gifts and at holidays I'll have to send her to their channel. Your kitchen is amazing - love the cupboards, stained glass window is wonderful - did you make it?
Cynthia Hamblin-Perry a friend made the window about 25 years ago and I love it! I’ll maybe do a proper video about it sometime. Thank you for all your friendly comments Xxxxxxxxx
Jainy Murrphy hello lovely person! Thank you so much... I really appreciate you giving me your precious time. Time is in short supply in our busy lives and there are so many demands on it. I’ll try to post friendly content that you might enjoy. Tell me if I don’t! 😊
The Last Homely House East of the Sea you are a very special !person I can feel your kindness ! you have real creative ideas I look forward !! to more of your videos God bless you!
The gloves questions is asked from time to time. everything edible I make is for personal consumption and I don't wear gloves when i peel potatoes or make toast or whatever. I couldn't ever plan to either sell or give this stuff to people I don't know, so for now, its glove free! i don't think anyone will mind so long as i tell them. Oh, and I worked for years in hospitals - my god, I know how to wash my hands! ha ha ha ha !!!!!!!
