I loveee your recipes. This chocolate and original medovik were awesome. My family now want this on a regular basis. I baked the cake on a large sheet pan and cut into 8 pieces jnstead so a bit faster. The cake is rectangular instead of round. Thank you for all your awesome recipes. You are awesome!!

The recipe for the filling with sour cream looks great. Nice to have another option than standard buttercream icing. Anyone in North America might notice that the 'cake' is much like Nabisco's chocolate wafers that is hard as a rock but will soak up anything around it and become soft and spongy. I'm thinking about making the batter and spreading it between two baking sheets and then cut each sheet into 3 or 4 pieces to make a small, rectangular version. Wouldn't this be great for Christmas with a peppermint filling and some green food colouring? Thank you to everyone at Home Cooking Adventure for another great video and inspiring recipe.

Hmmm I tried this recipe because many here said Awesome cake, but I was wondering , i havw followed the recipe exactly same but the consistancy of cream watery, actually exactly like you have there after u mixed it, but its just too runny. It doesnt look creamy like when u smeared it in every layer, did I miss something here??
You can definitely chill it for a few hours.. but not so sure how the sour cream in the frosting behaves after staying too much. I found this sour cream frosting a bit challenging.. depending on the sour cream used, the frosting can be more thick or more liquid, but when used almost immediately or in the same day, the cookie layers are absorbing the moisture and in the end the result is always delicious.
