Choir Of One Honest Review (Meta or Meh?) 

I don't know if you take "fun" and "ease of use" into consideration but these 2 factors alone make it one of the best weapon for me. If I perform well with this at say 80% to 90% of what the best option is but without tryharding I would say it's very very good

I use it to add clear and BnS rotations. One thing I've learned is that making a build for boss dps takes at most two braincells, but what i noticed at least with LFGs is they eithee have "good boss dps but bad ad clear" or "good add clear bad dps". I know not everyone is farming raids or dungeons, so having a gun like this comes from a pretty simple mission (took like an hour at most to figure out) is good overall. That's what i noticed about TFS weapons is that they can basically just be slapped on and already function. Still hunt: given to you, no need to explain Microcosm: easiest and safest dmg Choir: ad clear beast and can augment boss dmg. You know how many times people have to do heavy runs during multi phase boss dmg? I love having more options for special exotics

Being contrarian can be fun, but sometimes it's spite-just-to-spite. This feels like the latter. The weapon is good in terms of mathematics, gameplay feel, visually and audibly, its a solid overall weapon that specializes in ad-clear and single target DPS. I vehemently disagree with the conclusions you drew.

I essentially see it as taking up the Heavy MG slot in add clear where you need that high damage. Especially as a solo player there are a lot of cases in which my main add clear ends up being my Heavy MG which I usually prefer having the hard hitting DPS options like Edge Transit. Sure theres also Rocket Sidearms to do the same thing but with the Choir being able to switch to a hit-scan via ADS it feels a little better to use for me personally as I prefer hit-scan over projectiles. Unless they severely hit the damage or completely drain it's reserves I can see this finding a spot in several builds even for high tier content. It's definitely getting a ton of hype with it being a new archetype and the newest addition but even after it simmers down I think it'll be pretty good in all PvE content. Not as dominant as say old Wish Ender (havent seen many use it recently), Outbreak, Izanagis, etc but still very serviceable.

I think people love it so much because you can surge match with edge transit and its solid backup dmg when you run out of ammo. Imo its good and all, but im not making any changes to my loadouts just yet.

Shiny new thing syndrome for sure. It’s solid overall… but with how easy content is if you’re a halfway competent player… most everything can be solid (which isn’t fair to this weapon, I’ll admit, it’s better than many things). What a weapon always comes down to is “what am I going to replace to use this?” If you’re looking to blow through stuff aggressively you’re not going to replace Arc Conductor Ergo Sum. If you’re clutching Outbreak Perfected you’re not taking off that security blanket. If you’re doing DPS you aren’t taking off Still Hunt or your close range set up. I’m sure there’s some other exotics I could point out that 9/10 people are not going to drop. I’m sure I’ll mess around with it here or there but if I’m playing for real I don’t see myself switching off what I usually use to fit this in.

not being hit scan was a massive turn down for me. it's horrible on flying/mobile ads like harpies since it's insanely slow with the spread non-ads. I'd rather they lowered the boss dps (which is actually kinda useless despite people thinking it is OP since why would I use special ammo dps over a heavy ammo rotation with a back-up build that can generate ammo back pretty quickly. the argument that if you run out of ammo and there are no ads doesn't really appeal to me since I can use Song Of Flame in those situations after a proximately Heavy-special-ability dps rotation) and replaced it with higher velocity similar to a rocket sidearm

Did some testing and math, don't know where Aegis got those numbers from. Tested on Kalli while at 2019 Power, without buffs or debuffs. Fourth Horseman does theoretical (2384 + 2808 + 3309 + 3795 + 4309) * 12 = 199,260 damage in one mag over 41 frames at 60 FPS, for 291,600 burst DPS. Hip-firing at point-blank range, Choir of One deals (5612 + 26534) * 5 = 160,730 damage in one mag over 65 frames at 60 FPS, for 148,366 burst DPS. For reference, a single unbuffed rocket from Apex Predator deals (22273 + 70948) = 93,221 damage. Choir's DPS is definitely lower (about 50%), but mag dumping to delete a yellow-bar feels pretty similar gameplay-wise (0.68 sec vs 1.08 sec), and it can do it 10 times compared to Horseman's 3. It excels when paired with a utility Primary (Shoot to Loot, champion stuns, elemental debuffs, etc) since ammo gains are split when running double Special (38 per Special Finisher brick for double special loadout, 75 per Special Finisher brick by itself). Special Finisher is crucial, especially if you plan to use the hip-fire frequently. It doesn't have to be everyone's favorite, and it's not the best at anything, but it's strong enough to be good at everything.

We have an option that overtakes rocket sidearms for ease of use add clear and also is one of the best burst options for majors/Champs. Yeah, seems overrated...

Agreed. Only high end game players would understand which is a minority. The casual players will give you a lot of hate for this video lol… as you can see below. With that said, it’s fun to use for now, as it’s something new.

I mean i get its not the best at one thing in particular. Which is a turn off for a fair amount of ppl. But when ur comparing it to base still hunt for boss damage and rocket sidearms for clearing/roaming; its kinda silly to compare it to some of the best options rn just to call it niche. Its not the absolute top dog at something, doesnt mean its niche. Being able to clear ads as if it is a primary, as well as dump it into a champ or miniboss to crank its healthbar is extremely strong coming from a singular weapon. Completely frees up my other 2 weapon slots to use really whatever i want or need without a worry for ammo. I dont think anything needs to be the absolute best for it to be considered and strong option.

I got it, tested it out and am not a fan of it personally. feels like the necrocasm with how hyped up it was but is actually just mediocre. It looks cool tho

Definitely slightly overrated, wanna take this thing into a gm to see how it fares in there. I also think it’s gonna be super nice for ppl not confident with double special bc of the massive reserves
