Started a few days ago with using cloudstrike not only in pvp and throwing it into my rotations. Besides the fact that i just love the weapon, it does an amazing job
Problem, its a raid exotic My burger ass is not running lw and the pantheon exotic choice is not worth for just a week of mild fun or a mediocre lazy dps option.
@@lazykb Ig so. Idk, I don't really classify it as underrated because people know how good some of the rolls are, I think it's just because of how niche they are and the fact it's a special ammo sword when Swords already are a niche use-case, that no one really uses them
I like the show don’t tell intros. I think it works very well for videos: show something that looks cool upfront and it hooks people in to continue watching to learn how to do it themselves.
I think people love it so much because you can surge match with edge transit and its solid backup dmg when you run out of ammo. Imo its good and all, but im not making any changes to my loadouts just yet.
I don't think the people using this gun are performing rotations. It is decent though. People don't know how to react Bungie release a balanced gun lol
I don't particularly care for the cinematic, but the bar graphs are hella useful. Of course, for this video topic I already kinda knew what the bars would be for each weapon, but it's good info nonetheless!
Opinion, NOT feedback: I don't really like the cinematic format, it's the same reason why I heavily dislike (sorry for naming others!) Mactics, and Plunder to a lesser degree. not everything has to be epic and grandiose and cinematic... you're just talking about some weapons or armor on destiny, man. If you wanna keep doing the cinematic intros, by all means! It looks cool to others, it's up to you to decide if it's worth it. I'm personally skipping it, even if you're <hollywood director>
I don't wanna sound like a downer, but you did ask for feedback. I didn't particularly care for the cinematic. Not that I'm against them in general, I just think it needs to be better than that. Maybe consider one that could be more universal for your channel instead of being particular to the video

I gotta disagree with lumina. I don't think lumina is that good. Yes 35% is alot but in any content like a master raid or day 1 well is still a must. Also lumina doesn't realistically buff the whole team by 35% for 10 seconds as realistically you'll hit someone twice and by the time everyone's buffed up you only have seconds left. Also most dmg phases are 20-30 second so you aren't getting that 35% for the whole fight. Also it sucks for ad clear and so it'll make it harder to get to damage which in a day 1 is the real challenge not so much the damage check tbh. I'm also jus a lumina hater tho so that swings my opinon on it a bit lmao

I'm on the fence with the intro. First, it was really professional looking and shows your composition and editing skills to be very polished. However, I'm not sure it added something to the presentation that was impactful to me, the viewer. The graphics on the other hand were helpful for me to visualize the weapon and its place in the activity. I'd suggest talking about the elements from that chart when discussing the weapon to bring them both together. Your content is valuable for players like me that look for deep insights into game play so any effort to move the needle with how you produce that content is appreciated (by me at least).
The new edits are great and the stat bars are accurate but I would say if you can change the bars to be more one color instead of the slightly jank shading. Just a really small detail. Keep it up :)
If bungie actually increase the range on all shotguns by 50% Acrius is going to be so meta. But no way Buried Bloodline is slept on, every second build-guide I see is recommending/requiring it lol
@@lazykb it might be my bias too, I watch a lot of build-focused stuff. I just remember always seeing: 'this build has great survivability and grenade uptime😀'. Looks inside: Buried bloodline on a mid-build.
the never reload supremacy sniper is also a good choice, ita not super high dps but its still good if your in an encounter whcih needs the use of primary ammo gun usage
We have an option that overtakes rocket sidearms for ease of use add clear and also is one of the best burst options for majors/Champs. Yeah, seems overrated...
Yes that's a pretty accurate description of what it is. People are not calling it that they're calling it the next coming of Jesus, the new best gun for everything in the game, a raid DPS KING (144k). So yes. The textbook definition of overrated.
I use it to add clear and BnS rotations. One thing I've learned is that making a build for boss dps takes at most two braincells, but what i noticed at least with LFGs is they eithee have "good boss dps but bad ad clear" or "good add clear bad dps". I know not everyone is farming raids or dungeons, so having a gun like this comes from a pretty simple mission (took like an hour at most to figure out) is good overall. That's what i noticed about TFS weapons is that they can basically just be slapped on and already function. Still hunt: given to you, no need to explain Microcosm: easiest and safest dmg Choir: ad clear beast and can augment boss dmg. You know how many times people have to do heavy runs during multi phase boss dmg? I love having more options for special exotics
not being hit scan was a massive turn down for me. it's horrible on flying/mobile ads like harpies since it's insanely slow with the spread non-ads. I'd rather they lowered the boss dps (which is actually kinda useless despite people thinking it is OP since why would I use special ammo dps over a heavy ammo rotation with a back-up build that can generate ammo back pretty quickly. the argument that if you run out of ammo and there are no ads doesn't really appeal to me since I can use Song Of Flame in those situations after a proximately Heavy-special-ability dps rotation) and replaced it with higher velocity similar to a rocket sidearm
Its still a significantly above average rocket pistol and is hit scan when you use the ADS mode, I kind of see the shotgun mode as a side bonus that might infrequently be useful
You say you welcome comments but your responses are incredibly condescending to most that don't necessarily share your view. At the same time, you ask your viewers to help you get to 5k. Are you intentionally contentious as an act for YT or is that just how you are? At the end of the day, "best" is incredibly subjective when no criterias are set.
@@whosurjustin I do welcome comments and I don't delete comments unless it's spam/hate speech/unhealthy misinformation, even if they're negative or make me look bad. But I'll also respond with the energy I get. Plenty of comments disagreed with me and gave their reason, and I responded in like. Others mocked me or started condescending for no reason and I do that too, or I think one comment about Ergo being bad I memed on cause it was funny, but I probably wouldn't have if he asked why I think it's good instead of just calling it "hot ass". For the last point I think another commenter here put it best, when will I actually choose this gun to replace another one? And I think those situations are pretty limited, and explained why in the 2nd half of the video. I'm in general critical of any items in the game and careful about what I call good because I think that's something the d2 creator space is clearly lacking.

The points you've made in your video and replies are from the lens of what's optimal. Is this gun the optimal choice in any scenario? probably not. But it could be the "best" gun for a specific person if the that player doesnt play into the playstyles that predicates the use of the actual optimal gun/s. Most generalist guns will see very little play in endgame players, but tend to seldom leave the hands of casuals. So while its considered the best for casuals, its neither the best nor optimal for endgame players.
@@whosurjustin yeah and that's fine and if people want to use the gun I'm not gonna stop them, I never say don't use or do use something unless it's got some condition like if you are trying to be optimal. I say how strong something is and the objective points that make that. The goal of my channel is to bring newer or intermediate players into grasping what's optimal so they can get the most out of the game. You'll see basically everything I call meta or strong on my channel, are actual meta items or strong items, and other sweats would agree. That's also part of why I always talk about the negatives of items, since it helps people really think about what makes something strong, and that having negative points doesn't mean a weapons bad if it's still good for something
Did some testing and math, don't know where Aegis got those numbers from. Tested on Kalli while at 2019 Power, without buffs or debuffs. Fourth Horseman does theoretical (2384 + 2808 + 3309 + 3795 + 4309) * 12 = 199,260 damage in one mag over 41 frames at 60 FPS, for 291,600 burst DPS. Hip-firing at point-blank range, Choir of One deals (5612 + 26534) * 5 = 160,730 damage in one mag over 65 frames at 60 FPS, for 148,366 burst DPS. For reference, a single unbuffed rocket from Apex Predator deals (22273 + 70948) = 93,221 damage. Choir's DPS is definitely lower (about 50%), but mag dumping to delete a yellow-bar feels pretty similar gameplay-wise (0.68 sec vs 1.08 sec), and it can do it 10 times compared to Horseman's 3. It excels when paired with a utility Primary (Shoot to Loot, champion stuns, elemental debuffs, etc) since ammo gains are split when running double Special (38 per Special Finisher brick for double special loadout, 75 per Special Finisher brick by itself). Special Finisher is crucial, especially if you plan to use the hip-fire frequently. It doesn't have to be everyone's favorite, and it's not the best at anything, but it's strong enough to be good at everything.
Sorry to tell you but this isn't proper damage testing, but you basically just came to a similar determination Aegis did. Kali has a weird crit scalar which messes with numbers, and wipe screen is NOT accurate. Aegis numbers are accurate and you can watch his channel as a form of proof he has older videos showing his process. That said you basically proved his point. 4th being over 2x faster at bursting DPS in. I never said it's a bad gun that should never be used. I simply said it doesn't excel as a shotgun since it is quite literally, not a shotgun. Which is the as a whole the highest DPS special
This was on-screen damage numbers for bodyshots only. No crits, no wipe screen numbers. Aegis' spreadsheet only makes claims for Horseman with all crits, when the realistic case will be mostly bodyshots - or missing some pellets due to aiming for crits. His burst DPS calcs also include the first reload, which misrepresents the practical case of killing the target within the first mag. That's why I provided my own numbers. You're missing my points. First, the one mag damage is enough for Choir to be used in general play like it's a Horseman with more reserves. Something that dies to a Horseman mag dump probably also dies to a Choir mag dump, from farther range too. A difference of a half-second to kill doesn't matter most of the time. Second, ammo economy is incredible if you run only one Special weapon (Choir), don't hip-fire everything, and use Special Finisher at all.

I actually think and said in the video that this gun is at its best in roam, which is what you're saying it's good for so I don't even disagree. My point about it not being 4th was that the numbers weren't there and that tweet 100% was just a guy who killed a patrol yellow bar super fast and made a tweet saying it's the next 4th horseman, without actually understanding what 4th is. Ultimately 4th does DPS faster simple as that. I'm not saying just use 4th instead of this gun, I'm well aware that 4th is raw speed of damage at the cost of every other good thing about weapons, and at some point the speed becomes less important. I think people are taking my opinion about the gun much more negatively than what I said in the video.

Just by looking at the timestamps, you started talking negatives at 3:04, which was about twice as much time as you talked about positives. I think I may have also misunderstood your use of the term "roam content". I thought that you were referring to free-roam or patrol activities, and everything is strong there, so it didn't strike me as a positive. To be clear, I think you have well-thought opinions generally, and I usually agree with your take. I've been running double Special way more since discovering your channel. This video just seemed so different from my experience with Choir, and I wanted to share some of my own thoughts and testing. It seemed to me like Choir was above average at everything, though not the best at anything, covering all the bases with almost no downsides. And I think wide, respectable coverage in a single weapon is pretty valuable. I was honestly surprised that you were so down on this one.
I mean i get its not the best at one thing in particular. Which is a turn off for a fair amount of ppl. But when ur comparing it to base still hunt for boss damage and rocket sidearms for clearing/roaming; its kinda silly to compare it to some of the best options rn just to call it niche. Its not the absolute top dog at something, doesnt mean its niche. Being able to clear ads as if it is a primary, as well as dump it into a champ or miniboss to crank its healthbar is extremely strong coming from a singular weapon. Completely frees up my other 2 weapon slots to use really whatever i want or need without a worry for ammo. I dont think anything needs to be the absolute best for it to be considered and strong option.
Idk it seems like you agreed with everything I said about it. Someone else made a really good comment. Yeah it can do some jobs well, what activities am I actually replacing a slot in my load out for this with, instead of using something more specialized? And for me that's basically only when I'm using Mtop and eager in raid transitions. Which is pretty niche.

You would prefer something more specialized like a rocket sidearm and a shotgun, in which in practice i think running double special without using choir is easy to pull off especially if you have an ability based build. I think in terms of power it plays a similar roll to outbreak in gms and microchosm for raids. Pretty lazy, brainrot gameplay just being able to sit back and plink things across the map. Except now you have a decent option for burst as well in 1 weapon. Off the top of my head i cant really think of any weapons that will completely free up ur other 2 slots. Id feel completely comfortable going into any gm and only using choir. As for a raid boss if i saw a random using it with an auto loading rocket for a rotation i really wouldnt complain.

@@lazykb for the ammo economy, it’s a good weapon if you pair it with a good exotic like gyrfalcon. Turn this weapon into a very great weapon with volatile rounds plus make sure you activate the artifact mods. Watch mavens video on this as well.

Agreed. Only high end game players would understand which is a minority. The casual players will give you a lot of hate for this video lol… as you can see below. With that said, it’s fun to use for now, as it’s something new.

Shiny new thing syndrome for sure. It’s solid overall… but with how easy content is if you’re a halfway competent player… most everything can be solid (which isn’t fair to this weapon, I’ll admit, it’s better than many things). What a weapon always comes down to is “what am I going to replace to use this?” If you’re looking to blow through stuff aggressively you’re not going to replace Arc Conductor Ergo Sum. If you’re clutching Outbreak Perfected you’re not taking off that security blanket. If you’re doing DPS you aren’t taking off Still Hunt or your close range set up. I’m sure there’s some other exotics I could point out that 9/10 people are not going to drop. I’m sure I’ll mess around with it here or there but if I’m playing for real I don’t see myself switching off what I usually use to fit this in.
Definitely slightly overrated, wanna take this thing into a gm to see how it fares in there. I also think it’s gonna be super nice for ppl not confident with double special bc of the massive reserves
Being contrarian can be fun, but sometimes it's spite-just-to-spite. This feels like the latter. The weapon is good in terms of mathematics, gameplay feel, visually and audibly, its a solid overall weapon that specializes in ad-clear and single target DPS. I vehemently disagree with the conclusions you drew.
I don't see how this is spite to spite, I pointed out its upsides and then its downsides and decided that everyone calling it the next coming of jesus is overrating it
