@@ronniethornton8548 I mean if you listen to Rick Ross, Jay Electronica, Scarface, Luda, Killer Mike, Wayne, and the list goes on all were inspired by listening to East Coast and eventually West coast music. Probably the best lyricist in the south Lil Wayne is directly inspired by Jay Z and Dipset. T. I is directly inspired by Jay Z. Do your homework brah. We all in Black culture inspire one another. Sometimes you gotta just speak for yourself 🤷🏿♂️💯
Choke No Joke is funny. Funny thing is, we guys in our 40s really grew up on the best in Hip Hop and Dirty South music. LL, Run DMC, Jay Z, WuTang, Outkast, Goodie Mob, TI, Tupac, Biggie, NWA, Dr Dre, Nas, Lox, Ruff Ryders, Dungeon Family...etc
I'm south and east because I'm from NC, but wu tang is better. Even outkast said they wanted to be like wu tang in an interview. Skew it on the bar b is my Jame to this day, but raekwon smashed them.
Oan: Nov. 7, 1995 can be said to be the greatest underrated release day ever. Gza's Liquid Swords and Goodie Mob's Soul Food both dropped that day. Groundbreaking, flawless projects that should've went multi platinum at the time. Nuff respect to both crews.
The more I listen to this B High dude, he reveals he don’t know anything about hip-hop. Outkast was dope. Goodie Mob was dope. But the WU TANG CLAN AINT NOTHING TO F*CK WITH
Both crews are legendary but Wu Tang Clan is on a whole other level… Wu Tang Clan is a worldwide phenomenon… The logo alone is the most recognizable logo in Hip Hop. Wu tang just had so many talented artist in one group. They all released successful solo albums. It’s just never been done like that before…
Both crews are incredible but Wu-Tang's music impacted me to a far greater degree, and continues to resonate in a way The Dungeon Family's never quite did. Both collectives and their legacy are pretty much unrivaled for the most part.
I thought Choke had a good argument until B High started breaking down the hits. That’s why I don’t compare ARTISTS. I appreciate their gifts!! Both teams are Super Dope🔥🔥🔥🔥👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Both of those groups were fire. What I miss about that age is that when you played an album, damn near every song was a banger. And every group had a lane and every individual in the group had a lane and style. For both. Classic Days!!!
I've traveled entire world as retired Navy. I don't do tours, I get lost in locations and get to know the real. Also I'm from Atlanta and true southerner but I've loved all rap since 1984 in first grade. Wu is more passionately loved worldwide. I'm Dungeon to the core and love the Wu. Wu has a crazy worldwide fan base. They are bigger than most when it comes worldwide. But!!!!....Hey Ya by Dre and Crazy by CeeLo (Gnarls Barkley) are two of the biggest songs ever of any genre. And Bombs Over Baghdad is also huge worldwide.
@@michaelj9277 don't get me wrong they have plenty worldwide fans but nothing is like Wu. Wu has following like an old rock group like the Beatles, etc. Dungeon can be looked at in a rap crew competition but just from traveling I don't think anyone can actually beat Wu in worldwide presence. Closest would probably be Death Row and that's cause Snoop is like Muhammad Ali when he travels. Everyone knows Snoop. 90 year old women know Snoop. True popularity is when u go to places that barely had TVs and folks knew everything about them. That's the Wu
@@michaelj9277 I came here to say the same thing and my mom moved to the south in ‘95 and I absolutely love ‘Kast and Goodie MOB but their big songs are not even close to being hip-hop.
@Michael J are they not rappers or hip hop artists? NOBODY and I mean NOBODY from Wu Tang individually or collectively have a bigger song. Debate over.
@@tl6752 Now OutKast and Goodie Mob ain’t hip hop??? GTFOH…. Atliens, Southernplayalistic, Aquemini, Stankonia, Soul food, and Still standing AINT hip hop albums??? You tripping like muhfucka bro. They are very much hip hop albums and VERY GOOD ONES AT THAT!!
I'm from da sip and since they think Wu Tang got the dungeon family go against no limit in a verse no- limit vs wu-tang and see the outcome I mean the whole no limit
Bruh, I'm from New York, but in Georgia, he is insane. Wu-Tang is not over Dungen Family in the South where the most FBA'S are mind you. They are not selling in America, and Future is still charting.
I'm not gonna lie and I will give credit where credit is due.but on global mainstream wutang is bigger and well known than dungeon family.its just in the south we got our own favs.the same scenario goes for jay z.we listen to some of his music in the south.but no one really cares for music as much in my part of the region.
Only rapper in the dungeon that gets goat acclaim is 3000. Wu got Method Man, Raekwon, GFK, Inspektah Deck, ODB, Gza and Rza who’s also a top 3-5 producer. Ain’t nobody close to Wu.
@@alyu9337ro I hate to break it to you but everybody don’t know all of them members of the Wu. You can run that argument both ways. Most people I know can tell u every member of DF, but couldn’t name nobody but probably Meth, Ghostface and ODB from the Wu. Stop thinking your opinions are facts because it goes both ways
@@GrinchyGreen334 the wu got solo classics and group classics name one artist not named Ceelo green that has that from the dungeon family? And the entire dungeon are legendary pure fire don't get it twisted I'm just saying let's be real
😂Always fun hearing these NYC and any other area in the country debates. By the way Wu wins this one not really a debate. But that being said as an NYC cat we loved Outkast and Dungeon Family. We NYC cats just love good hip hop period no matter where it’s from.
Lol. It's just barbershop talk. They just having fun. Thoroughly entertaining. Much respect to both men, and both crews. The Wu and the Dungeon are pioneers and legends. I love and respect them both (👐🏿😉😄)
When he said Killer Mike over Ghostface Killah I damn near fell out my chair 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 B High definitely stood on his stance on reppin the Dungeon Family. I'm from Brooklyn and I love both Wu and Dungeon Family.
I'm a major Wutang Clan fan, but the Dungeon Family as a collective got more hits than Wu, and that's not taking anything from Wu. I've been a real Wutang fan from day 1. But I'm also a real hip-hop head that does not give a damn about a region or coast. Big Ups to both Crews.
Y’all 2 together are entertaining as hell. Y’all should keep this going. This better than “Everyday Struggle” and “First Take”. Chemistry off the chain 😂😂😂
@@kinggokubeats5008 I love both groups of artists, but that was NOT his consistent point, that’s the direction he took on one of his many point adjustments lol ! If that was the argument I’m with Choke, as in world wide popularity?? Yes, the WU has that Crown
What needs to be understood is the Dungeon Family wasnt just a gang of rappers. They rapped, sung, poets and PRODUCTION. Organized noise made songs for TLC, Usher etc.
@@jammdiego3545 it's a questionnaire my nigga for best hip hop group all time for the upcoming BET Awards. Same debate and questions were on the Math Hoffa podcast. Y'all niggas be insulting and in emotions over the pettiest things🤦🏿♂️🤔
I was just about to post that. This guy is very biased. Hey Ya and the way you move are definitely bigger than cream. Regardless how he feels they just are. Very good point when Bro said Dirty South is bigger than cream as far as the cultural aspect. It really is.
Killa Mike ALONE would destroy the ENTIRE WuTang clan lyrically!!! And you still got CoolBreeze, Ceelo Green, Gipp Goodie, Khujo Goodie 3 Racks, Big Boi, Backbone, TMoe coming off the bench? Boy stop this sh*t ain’t even close…
From the south and the Wu was designed to be more individually oriented and a supergroup. The Dungeon is groups within a group and some individual releases. Lyrically they're both impactful because they were on the esoteric level to help you spiritually evolve as well as some street shit.
@@GrinchyGreen334I’d say it’s because of the sheer mass of the group. Kinda unfair but two guys can’t beat 6 guys that all know what they doing and if you want to add redman.
@@t-god2439 plus all them artist ain’t got successful solo careers either. Who bumps U God?? Who bumps Masta Killa?? Who bumps Inspectah Deck??? Who bumps Rza?? Who bumps Cappadonna?? Only ones are Meth, Rae, Ghost, and maybe ODB
Did 36 Chambers go platinum? Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) - Wikipedia The album continued to sell steadily and was eventually certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America on May 15, 1995. Over time, Enter the Wu-Tang became one of the most highly regarded albums in hip hop.
Great interview 😂😂😂😂👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Iam from overseas and the funny part of the debate is that both of them didnt know all tracks each other naming, but I did, ( both of y’all references were 🔥🔥🔥🔥) we need a part 2 of this itw… 👏🏾👏🏾
They were out at the same time wtf. What choke is doing is trying to put the a list wu members vs the b list DF and we can’t let that fly. If you going with Rae, ghost, meth and ODB, then we counter with Kast, cede lo green and killer Mike. Clearly DF wins that. GZA, Rebel INS, UGod,cappadonna ( I feel like I’m missing someone) vs khujo, TMo, Gipp, Cool Breeze, Withcdoctor, slim cutta, backbone. More debatable and that edge probably goes to WU ( I’d have to look at it). Wu ain’t got real singers like Sleepy Brown, Joi, Janelle Monae either.
@@datboitrues I love Dungeon Fam & I'm from the South but Kast is the only group to stand a chance against the members u just named from the Wu. You named 4 of your a-list from the Wu u mean to tell me Cee-Lo & Killer Mike have enough big records to go against the Wu members u named???? 🤔
Man this is hilarious!! I'm from NYC and they both set their marks respectfully and had moments!! I could never hate on the south, NYC has a lot of love for the south!! Wu Tang Clan and Outkast are in the greatest groups of all time category. Goodie Mob has bangers also. Love them both!!!!
All I gotta say is Southernplayalisticadilacmusic, Atliens, Aqemini, Soul Food, Still Standing, Speaker Box and Love Below!!!!! The Dungeon Family killing it!
I'm from st. Louis. I listened to da wu and df. Flat out as far as worldwide the wu take the win but df made better music. Shouts to both legendary groups
Thank you Choke... this gaslighting can't go unchecked! RESPECTFULLY (I Love the Dungeon Family... "Me and you... your momma..." BUT) No matter the criteria, Wu easy. LYRICISM - 3000 (top gunner) couldn't burn 3/10 of Wu. Worldwide INFLUENCE & LOVE -- stop playing. PRODUCTION -- RZA ALONE would sit a whole production team down. ALBUM FOR ALBUM (group or solo) -- again, STOP playing - Google/RU-vid is your friend.. do homework. On stage / LIVE performance or VERZUS -- that's like going against ten (10) Jada Kisses w/ a DJ Technician with 10x the chemistry. DO YOU REMEMBER THE 90s??? There was 3 Wu hits for every Dungeon Family single - Ask Rap City (I'm sure that reached all coasts)... Big Tigger was there and would tell you. Wish most knew who Stretch and Bobbito was... non-bias played underground from all coasts -- they would laugh at the notion.
Huh??? 3k will smoke every last nikka in WU Tang and method man is the best one from the wu. Please kill that noise. There ain’t many mcs period Fukkn wit 3k
@@kayfromqueens4675 I am never disqualified brother!! Who is the wu top gunner? Kause big boi kan trade with rae, ceelo kan trade odb, even the genius and deck gone have problems with 3k.
@@melokan Wu doesn’t have a “top-gunner”; that’s one clear separation of the two crews. They stay(ed) sharp by trying to take each other’s heads off. If it’s a last-man-standing scenario… might as well only send 3000. I gave him a generous 3/10 chance YOU talking he will "SMOKE" (as in clear victory) the ENTIRE CLAN (Hence MY take your opinion seriously disqualifier).
You must be smoking the best crack on the market. 3 Racks is one of the greatest ever. Ain’t one nigga in WuTang could even carry Dre’s rhyme notebook lyrically. Shit matter fact Killa Mike Big Boi Ceelo Green Andre Khujo Goodie could all SINGLE-HANDEDLY DESTROY any nigga out the Wu on any given day. Single-handedly!!!
I have respect for both crews but the impact of the Wu can't be understated...you don't see people of every generation, race, gender and nationality worldwide with Dunjen Family tattoos. People also tend to forget that Redman is officially a Wu member.
