Enjoyed your video. Cholula was the first stop on my first trip to Mexico back in 2003. Sorry that you didn't get to walk thru the tunnels inside the pyramid, it is really amazing. I think they closed them at the start of the pandemic. Did you have any sense of when or if they might reopen? I can't see any reason they would close them permanently. FYI -it is illegal in Mexico to add the tip to the check but unfortunately many restaurants in tourist areas do. Qroo Paul has a video about this and also has some cards you can order to give to waiter to have them remove it. Good video guys! ☮️❤️😎
Hi Pammy, no, i couldn't find out when it was going to reopen unfortunately. I’m I know it's illegal for them to do that when we question them about it that just say it's a suggestion and if you can say no they recalculate the bill. In this case the propina was what we were going to give them so it was ok. -Marc
The very best video I have found so far on RU-vid! And I have already watched three in total. 😉 Just kidding! In reality I´ve seen too many. Should have come to your´s in the first place. Great job - information, humor, fun to enjoy and learn. Health to you and best luck! Sarah and Elmar from Germany 🥀🍀
Once again Marc thanks for the map at the beginning. I'm lost with or without it but I like maps and Paulette you look very good for 63. I'm 68 so I'm kind of an expert. The architecture was amazing but descriptions such as neoclassical and baroque will get you now where with me. I'm just digging the opulence. I think the food cost more than here in Iowa even for the good places. A rip off but I guess you are in a tourist area. Keep cranking them out. Wish I could figure out how to pull the trigger on international travel.
I think of your comment about needing maps whenever do put one in the video. It's a big change moving internationally, you really need to be sure that it's the right thing for you and that you can adapt to the many changes that will occur and be ok with rolling with the changes. You've been a subscriber on our channel for a long time and we thank you for that. -Marc
Good job, you guys, walking to the top of the pyramid! Love skipping Paulette. Too bad about the tunnels. Ruins always fascinate me, such a feat of engineering. Your drone work is great, Marc!
@@danieldinverno8732 For some reason I don't have your number anymore. Can you go to my about page on my youtube mail page and get my email address RU-vid sometimes blocks links and email addresses in the comments section. -Marc
Did you visit the Municiple mercado? Go hiking in the hills? Take a bicycle tour of the murals? So, many things to do. Street carnivals depicting past battles. More than just churches.
That Cholula sign is so cool! If it’s not too personal, may I ask, how much was the bus ride from SLP to Cholula was? And that stinks that you went all the way there and you couldn’t go through the tunnels.. hopefully they open them up again and you can go
Sopa Azteca not Zacatecas 😂Hugs PS regarding that bad service it looked like a bar for younger spring break kinda type restaurant . As you explain the delay was they didn’t know how to do the Alfredo’s , it looks as though they sell more chicken wings bar kinda menu . The tip it’s illegal to charge automatically the tip , you should’ve asked to discount it . Sadly these places for drunk youngsters do it since they didn’t take a look at tickets . You should report it to Profeco or at least complain on Facebook and Google maps . Last week my sister asked for a cake using Didi foods , the cake arrived damaged and she wrote on google maps and wrote to Didi. Didi refunded the service and the Bakery offered a new cake . Don’t let it pass !
Thanks for the correction. It was geared for younger people and had a bar atmosphere about it. Loud music playing the whole time. It was upstairs so i think they were playing loud music that were in the plaza across the street. Bad service and all the tip on the receipt was what we were going to give then anyway. They knew that we were dissatisfied with the service we were getting and they adjusted the propina accordingly. It was bad service to an extent but we could’t walk away giving nothing. Your right we need to follow up with your suggestions. -Marc
Yes we have and we've done some videos from there. Here's a link to one of the videos. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-022aFMW3kMQ.html
I could have a story about Cholula but I'm going to keep it to myself. Someday, I like to visit now thinking back, I should have done it way back in 2012 when I dated my ex girlfriend who is from there. Ok, that's another story but life goes on. Viva Mexico.
@@TheTwoTravelersInMexico Marc, I don’t know about that one it brings back to much memories good ones and sadly sad once’s it is in the past Viva Mexico 🇲🇽 ✌️🕺🙏😁
Why would they (early Catholics) think it’s a hill when they (colonists explorers) intentionally asked indigenous people where their ancient pyramid sites were located and then took over those sites all across the Americas.
Sorry, we were really never able to figure that out. I do know that the pyramid was covered before the Spanish arrived but i don't know for how many years it was covered. -Marc
@@TheTwoTravelersInMexico many of the sites they took over the original inhabitants had been gone for some time. Those who remained knew where the pyramids were located and pointed them out to them. Many were Freemasons looking, surveying the land. But their final destinations were intentional. They traveled far to find these sites to then occupy.
I just discovered your channel and love it, but please never ask if something is hot because we mexicans love picante and probably for our level of picante we'll say " no pica" but for Americans will be picante, all depends of how you can tolerate picante 😂
Thank you. Your comment about picante is very true. I thunk Mexicans have a much higher level of tolerance for picante then most people from the U.S. -Marc
you eat in the wrong places, if you wanna know the real flavor, you must go to the mercado, the real food is in a mercado y the price es lower than a restaurat...
Hola mis amigos! Longtime subscriber letting you know you two are loved and appreciated. Thanks for your wonderful videos 🙏☮🫀p.s. lol Feliz Navidad! Doing non-stop research lol even today! My dream is to be in living in the state of Oaxaca in 2024! Together God and I are going to find a way.
I think I would prefer the stairs? Maybe? Of course, it looked like you can switch back and forth. We have found we don't like hills! LMAO I love the skipping along the black stone road...and I'm singing along as she skips making the appropriate word substitutions from Wizard of Oz. That poblano platter looked YUMMY! That is some nice drone footage! ~Gina
I'm not sure there was that much difference between the two since they were right next to each other. It was yummy. I'm working on getting better with the drone making smoother moves. I haven't attempted drunk drone flying yet like someone I know. -Marc
