You're one of my mentors. I also advertise and promote your goat binder on my site. now... I need to order one myself. 😂 I just started over, so I'll be ordering that binder soon. I rarely medicate my animals. I make my own herbal blends I add to their feed
I just went thru my second and 3rd kidding. The first was a breeze, just sit and watch, she did it all. Her 2nd was a 3am Friday night nightmare resulting in 2 stillborn, I died 2 days later and 1 bottle fed survivor sitting in a crate in my kitchen as I write this. No vets on Saturday for goats but fortunately a friend and mentor was home and brought 10 years of experience, and smaller hands, to manipulate the last badly positioned kid out of mom. The nearest vet would have been a 90 min drive to University of Florida and a $500 charge just to walk in the door, services and tests added to that. Knowing that, I was very close to putting a gun to my poor does forehead. Thank God I didn't have to. But after all that, she wouldn't let her kid nurse. Then I screwed up kid's feeding and over fed her and she got sick. Then her mom developed an infection, fortunately on a weekday. 10 days later, my 2nd doe had triplets with no problems until she decided it hurt her to nurse them on her huge soft teats so I started milking both does and, long story short, I felt like shooting myself. They battered the hell out of me daily on top of the kid care and barn care... one month later, I'm an exhausted, bruised zombie and considering tossing the whole idea. But I have a lot of milk in the fridge.
