Yes you can use an axe as a weapon BUT it is way too heavy and cumbersome. That's the reason why axes used in war have thinner blades compared to axes used for cutting logs which have thicker and much heavier blades which require strength and stamina each swing
Axe is definitely the best option. You can easily get wood to build a shelter and a campfire. Good for hunting and dealing with zombies. It has a powerful swing and quite silent and easy to master. Edit: I forgot to mention that you can throw axes.
Yeah, The Fireaxe is definitely the best and also versatile, the baseball bat is impractical for the fact that it's hard to lug around without a sheath for it, bows are more difficult to master, gun is too loud and ammo is scarce, chainsaw is noisy and a waste of fuel, katana is crap due to the fact it's brittle and it's mostly high maintenance which sucks.
an axe that size would get you killed. if there was more than one zombie, you swing once taking out alot of your stamina, what then? you have to let go of the axe, try and unwedge it, attempt to lift it back up, you're gonna get eaten.
The best part is that the katana is the best weapon, swords are good close ranged weapons and using kendo techniques you can fight while keeping a distance
@@Evinex_0 "Buddy are you still there-? I just don't know, it sees like you're trying to speak! But I just popped your skull so hard you're eyeball just- POPPED OUT! and it is gross as shit" I love twd
Well since zombies are not really a threat, I mean they’re defeated by historic armour, and a group of intelligent humans hunting you using humans assets as far more threatening. So the axe for chopping some wood and fires, or the bow for hunting food makes sense. With the axe you can quickly craft a bunch of spears 🤷♂️
Axe: it’s got the weight behind it to be able to consistently destroy the brain even as a bludgeoning weapon when it’s not sharpened. It’s utility doesn’t end at just being a weapon either since it can be used into countless roles for homesteading (which Is where a zombie apocalypse is going to lead you eventually: outside of major population sectors and being self sufficient) for things such as chopping down trees and processing the wood, using the blunt side as a improvised mallet and is also a useful tool if you’ve got to get through a locked door quickly.
@@citizen-7xl5 true but i feel like the bat would still be the better option in terms of a weapon. Blood doesnt get drawn as quickly and not as much so it isnt immediately being slung everywhere when you need to swing more than once so less risk of infection by accident, its not as top heavy so you can swing it in all directions pretty much equally as hard and can change directions mid swing easier, dont need as much space or time for a full swing, no need to hold it a particular way, much less risk of harming yourself by accident, no need for sharpening and doesnt require as much strength/stamina to use. Id say the axe is much better as a toold than a weapon. Maybe a woodcutter axe instead of a fireaxe because it has a blunt side ?
Bruh fun fact if you shoot some zombies with your shotgun some zombies will hear you shooting and bring a horde to you so axe and a katana is a perfect weapon for a zombie apocalypse
I’m pretty sure all zombie apocalypse fans can know this, choosing the right weapon all comes down to what zombie apocalypse verse were in like if it’s the last of us, a shotgun, but The Walking Dead, an ax would do
I’d choose either an Axe or a Crowbar honestly. Crowbar cause it’s a blunt object so I don’t have to worry about hitting the right angle, plus it’s a good tool to open stuff and acts like a makeshift lock if need be
Baseball bat or the axe are the best options Bat: It's blunt force so It can deal with both armored and non armored enemies it's also relatively lightweight Axe: It's kinda heavy however it would have a bit more power on downward chops it also has a spike on the back that can be good for armored enemies The bow: You actually need to learn how to use it which would take you a bit assuming you don't already know how. If a arrow breaks your pretty much screwed considering it'll be kinda hard to find a spare Gun: may sound good in thought but once you run out of ammo it's useless. It's also very loud which will draw several zombies towards you Katana: You will need to constantly take care of it and keep it sharp not to mention if the pin breaks your screwed Chainsaw: you'd need to apply pressure for a few seconds before you deal any real damage which leaves you open to attack. Not to mention you have to lug all that weight and the fuel with you
Only argument with your bow part, you Could eventually learn to make new arrows, it is a hard thing to learn also depends on your location. Not a complete hole in the argument but devils advocate piece
I completely agree with all of this and I tactically thought about this. Also wouldnt the axe get stuck or jammed if you hit a zombies head or body. Also when you swing you have to lift it back up which opens back up the opportunity for zombies to attack. So baseball bats are great. However if you have a shotgun and youre in america you could make your ay to a police station or hunting store depending on the state for shells. But yeah bat ftw
@@shieldpandahis isn't me trying to be rude but speaking from experience, you do NOT have to be that strong to remove an axe even if it does get stuck. I work in lumber so its pretty easy to figure out positions to dislodge it quickly. Its not like a hook that gets further trapped the more you pull.
I agree with a bow but katana I'm not that sure of as it's high maintenance and in a fight in a hoard a katana wouldn't be very effective as they were seen as normally a last resort type weapon and we're also seen as a one time use weapon
@@Zenpluhas long as you don’t enter 3 separate encounters in a row should be fine, clean it once in a while it’ll cut like a razorblade especially through rotten and deceased skin
@@Sleepy_Koku true but in some cases depending on where you are and how populated areas are it's likely to have many zombies to attack (if not quiet enough) which if not dealt with quickly would build up zombie blood and damage the blade although preventable still the most likely thing to happen
Something that neither rusts nor rots, like a stainless steel bat, would be my choice. It's hard to find chromium, but once you do, it's easily forged.
Always have some kid of melee weapon with you during an apocalypse because ammunition won’t last forever, since all of the factories are not working ammo isn’t being made anymore and so eventually the last shot from a gun will be fired
Katanas would break couse of dried blood of zombies. You also need to take care of it more than any other weapon. Chainsaws and shotguns would attract too much zombies couse of the loudness they make. A bow is probably the best option couse its lethal if shot with an arrow in head or body, its silent and good for hunting for food.tho you need to learn to use it. Also it depends where you are.if youre in a densily populated area(India China ETC) you would use a bow. If you were in countries like Egypt Algeria or some of countries with less population shotguns would be useful. Also katanas need to be sharpened and cleaned so if you have the material to do that in an apocalypse sure, choose the katana. Axes could be useful for gathering wood but they could get stuck in zombies , they also need to be sharpened. But it really matters what kind of zombies are you dealing with . Maybe cordiceps zombies or zombies from the walking dead. Like a bow could be useless against the fungi from the last of us , especially for like a bloater.
I feel like people don't realize how much blunt weapons are superior to bladed weapons. Yes, if you manage to somehow dismember/decapitate someone with a blade, they'll surely die instantly, but the thing is, the human body isn't soft and cuttable like jelly, and your weapon would most likely either get lodged where you landed the hit or at least inserted into your enemies body, putting you in an extremely risky situation incase your dealing with a crowd
Getting stuck is more of a piercing/stabbing problem. Slashing is much less likely to result in a stuck blade. I rather take a blunt sword of spring steel over any club.
honestly either bow and arrow or batt because they'll last the longest especially if it's a 2 piece metal batt but anything with w blade will dull and become less effective and guns have limited ammunition unlike a bow because you can reuse arrows if you know how to use a bow properly and not shoot like a dumbass
I would definitely choose two but I'm try to hold my weeb self (katana) I would choose an axe cuz meele weapons don't attract the zombies but I would choose the shotgun too if it is in a dire situation
@@killergames9256 yeah but if you use a ranged weapon( like a gun) the noise attracts other zombies that can DOUBLE the ones you were fighting and you have to agree the bat is WAYYYY worse than a axe or katana
Shotgun. I live in the American south, I can find ammo. I can use it for hunting anything from squirrels to bears. Not only that, but if I ever need a tool like an axe or knife, I can always scavenge or “take” one from someone else.
Not to mention if you make arrows made of the strongest metal which is the heavies and strongest wood you won't need to land a headshot the arrow will keep them down.
Bow and arrow. -The bat is too ineffective -The axe is too heavy and will take longer to swing -The shotgun is ok but has bad range, especially sawed off -Chainsaw has the same problems as the axe and also uses fuel which would be hard to get in an apocalypse -Katana is too obvious and also very hard to use without professional knowledge The bow an arrow has very good range, it’s quiet, it’s stealthy, it’s light, and it doesn’t take long to know how to use it
Yeah that what I was thinking also the shotgun is loud so more zombie will come I like the katana yeah it is hard But The blade is sharp so I'll pick Bow and arrow and a katana i will use the katana for melee and for the bow and arrow you already said it
Where will you get the arrows from tho??? Like i get it but it would be kind of hard to find and if there are many of them or it's a short range it's not looking god for you, if you know what i mean
Shotguns are still deadly even if they're not shot at pointblank, even better with slug ammunition, but I still wouldn't choose shotgun because of 2 reasons, it's noisy and has limited ammo.
Katana would be a no for the simple reason of cleaning zombie guts and possible infections from said maintenance. A axe or fire axe are too heavy and very close up so no. Bow is likely the smartest option, long range, easily created ammunition. A baseball bat would work fine if it’s all you had. In reality I’d rather use a pole-arm or modified halberd if possible.
Chainsaw too loud and your thinking of being solo you might aswell get eaten cus chainsaws also run using gasoline so when the gas rans out your outta options
@@Votus-ry5rothere are such things as electrical chainsaws which are incredibly quiet and lightweight compared to petrol powered chainsaws however the battery is incredibly bad and only last about 30-45 minutes
i like the Axe and the bow and arrow at the same time because it would be a good survival for me and ill even look for something that can protect myself so i will not get bitten by the zombie.
Honestly... Bow and arrow. I already have experience with using a bow, so when it comes down to hunting animals, or taking out the undead from a distance, that'd be my best option. Any melee can be made with some sharpened sticks, or just going caveman and making obsidian weapons.
How good are you at making arrows would be the question with the bow. Gas with the chainsaw. Axe will get stuck. Bat doesn't pack enough punch. Katana just no. It's a bad list to choose from. Where's the war hammer our a mace our even a pollaxe?
@@redpilllife4life198 Honestly, you could just make a spear from some rock, sinew or long grass, and a sturdy stick. But the arrow would be reasonably easy. Especially since a poor arrow can be used two or three times, depending on how much the zombie has been rotting. If it's not rotten, and more "infected", one arrow per-zombie will do.
@@user-jd1vs9tc6z Look up "Prince Hal". They were a prince in a battle in 1403, and the arrow pierced his skull at an angle. The arrowhead was six inches deep and remained there, while the shaft was removed successfully.
Axes are absolutely useful as weapons and tools but the problem with them is that they’re heavy, can get stuck in zombies and eventually rust. My pick is the bow because it’s quiet, i already know how to use it and I can reuse arrows if need be
Bat Reasons: 1. Negan 2. Not much skill needed to used when compared to using a bow or katana 3. No ammo required 4. Modifiable with barbed wire etc 5. Easy to find making it replaceable
And if it's metal and you find some nails and a welding torch, you could weld the nails to it. Giving anyone, zombie or human, who gets hit with it extra damage
@@geralddioespiritu-ih8dr Vinegar. Soak it for a day, rust will come off. Then some kind of knife sharpener should be easy enough to come by. A sander and a whetstone would work best.
Erm, actually. 🤓 The real life AA-12 holds a 8 or 20 round magazines, also the "constant recoil" in the gun also reduces recoil by 80 percent (normally felt.) See more on Wikipedia lol. You can't carry 20 drum magazines on your torso, unless your the "Rock."
Breakdown of all weapons:pros and cons Axe: This is not only a weapon, this is a tool. Axes can help with opening places, it can help chop lumber, and it is a weapon that is pretty powerful. Downsides: Axes are usaully pretty heavy. Not like super duper heavy but it does take some strength to carry that around everywhere, and that can be a downfall when it comes to fighting zombies as your arms will be tired. Upsides: It is a tool and protection. The axe can help break, chop, and also nail things if needed, and it is a pretty powerful weapon and pretty quiet for most weapons. Katana:This can kinda be used as a tool, but it is for sure the lightest and the most silent weapon on the list. Also when it comes down face to face, it’s easier to just jab or slice a zombie that having to swing or be ready to shoot. Downsides: This is the weapon that can’t really be used as a weapon, meaning if that was your only tool, you might have LOTS of trouble cutting things, and some katanas are easy to break as well Upsides: The weapon is lightweight silent, and it doesn’t require much care. Other than making sure you sheath it and clean it,it doesn’t take that much work to take care of and it is a lightweight weapon Bat: Easy to swing and doesn’t take training, probably one of the easiest weapons to carry around, and can be used as tool for a few things Downsides: Bats can break, like any other weapon, but bats breaking are actually pretty loud especially if it’s quiet. Also if we are talking only that tool, you won’t be able to cut down trees, or really be able to cut anything, and it takes some force to actually do something to the zombies head. Upsides: Easy to carry around, lightweight, and doesn’t take much taking care of either. It’s pretty quiet too, and you don’t really have to worry about the durability unless you are bashing on something hard. Bow and Arrow: One of the best weapons. It has its ups and downs, both of which can bring you down either way. Downsides: You would have to worry about durability and about your aim if you’re not professionally trained, and the durability of your arrows are not promising too. It isn’t really easy to carry around, but it isn’t the hardest weapon to carry around Upsides: Pretty much silent and you would look pretty badass well using a bow, and it helps with hunting and the arrows can be used as little spears if needed Chainsaw: Obviously i think everyone knows the pros and cons of this but i’ll still go into detail. Downsides: Chainsaws run on fuel, which during a zombie apocalypse will be impossible to find, and it makes a lot of noise. I think this is obvious but chainsaws aren’t light, like at all. Will definitely attract zombies. Upsides: For having a lot of cons, there are a lot of pros. The chainsaw is also a tool. You can cut things and also hunt with it i guess. It’s noisy, but you can clear zombies like nothing with it. Sure it’s not light but it’s probably the best thing to use if you only get the weapon as it’s not only a weapon but a tool I don’t think i need to say the pros and cons of the shotgun
The Katana, you would run into problems like maintenance, not to mention the biggest problem would be running into armoured zombies, a miss swipe and the Katana is done for
you would be dead in a hoard. or if they are chasing you. You cannot go back and get the arrows. chain saw is useless after fuel runs out. bat is useful, but heavier. shotgun is useful but ammo. katana is best option. you can inflict the most damage and needs little maintenance. ax can get stuck and is heavy but a good option.
@@Omen550katana can break easily in days, Because the katana is not for combat, it is only for show and as a single-use weapon. And if you are careful not to break it, over time you will have to sharpen it and it must always be clean or it can rust.
I’m going katana. More nimble and lighter than the axe. And it wouldn’t make a lot of noise versus other weapons. You would just need to stay away from where the zombies are congregating the most, to include the cities, until you get better weapons and are around more survivors that are barricaded.
The zombies might still move if cut at the neck, I have to admit the katana might struggle since it's the brain that needs destroying and not anything else, anything other then precision will severely damage the blade with minimal success into killing 1 zombie, let alone a massive hoard
Either the axe or bow, the axe can be used as a tool as well as a weapon and a bow will allow you to kill enemies silently from a distance, not to mention arrows can be used as melee weapons if necessary
The shotgun and chainsaw is a big no. The noise is the worst thing in an apocalypse, it will attract zombies. Your best chance at survival, is using the quieter weapons, like the bow and arrow, and melee weapons.
Shotgun causes lots of noise, and a katana is essentially held by one pin (I think) so it would most likely break in 2-3 hits. And a chainsaw requires gas. So a baseball bat, axe, and bow and arrow are the best.
I believe axe can be a great weapon and also be used as a tool. But if you can use bow and arrow then it's also a good choice for avoiding zombies and deal long distance damage.
Honestly I'd go with medieval suite of kings armour cause there literally protected at every single crevasse and the long sword has been proven to be a very effective weapon if properly used
katana and bow katana: looks cool, and is pretty good for fighting the zombers bow and arrow, good for stealth, hunting remaining animals, and killing zombers from far away
Zombies get attracted to loud noise so picking the shotgun is a bad idea i'd go for the Axe as its easy to make/repair and useful for other things for survival and also the bow and arrow
While the Axe has the most utility overall in terms of the best weapon it's 100% the bow and arrow. You can make arrows so your never run out, and can retrieve used arrows if they aren't too damaged, you use it at range so there's a much smaller chance of being bitten and it's the quietest, besides maybe the Kitana, so you'll avoid drawing attention from nearby zombies.
I’d rather the bow and arrow, you can craft bows with any tree sticks and it’s also silent. Of course it helps at hunting and the arrows could be used as close range weapons
bow and arrow plus katana i prefer slashes while silent range attacks if we only talk bout weapons not how handy your weapon can be in other categories of surviving
Axe because if choose the chainsaw or a gun it will make loud noises and attract more zombie but the axe makes quiet noises so I don’t have to deal with a lot of zombies
